The White Sox are going to force one team to overpay. It's probably the Phillies but who knows. I'd trade Wong and Casis plus 2 top 25 prospects. That is a nice package. I'd least likely part with Abreau because of his youth athleticism and arbitration eligibility for 5 seasons. I love Casis but he seems to be injury prone but giving up on a potential 40 home run guy is definitely not an easy decision.
Sure I’d trade Abreau and Wong for Crochet. Not Casas. Crochet has fantastic stuff. He probably can’t give you much more than 150 innings. But, not many ballplayers today can. And there’s plenty of reasons why this is so. But, lets face it. Sosa isn’t coming through that door. He’s lefty and the Red Sox need another righty power bat. The best way for the Red Sox to pass NY and Baltimore is add a couple frontline pitchers and get better defense at 2B and 3B especially. Crochet has to be traded for. If you can add Fried in free agency, I think you win a pennant. I’m not sure Breslow is in the same league as Dave Dombrowski in picking free agents. We’ll see. If the Red Sox don’t move Devers off of 3B, I don’t think they have a chance to sign a stud pitcher in FA. And I don’t think Crochet will be enough to get you over the top. And if the Red Sox can’t get a Burns or Fried, the price for Crochet goes up because the WS know RS will be desperate at that point. So, I don’t understand why Devers is still at 3B. His agent should have been b slapped the minute he said his client was not moving off 3B. I would have read his agent the riot act.
I think they will land Soto. And once they do they will have no choice but to go all in on 2 pitchers. Really, as long as there going after front line starters. Who cares who it is. But of if I had to pick. I’m hoping they land Crochet and Barns. Really for me. This pulled the hole team together and makes use the front runners for winning it all. But as always with the Red Sox’s. Carful on getting ur hopes up. They did say last season. That 2026 was the season where they go all in. So who knows. I’m happy with going all in on this season. It’s TIME!!! I say. Goooo Sox’s 🙏🏻
The silly season is alive and well! 😁 They should trade/donate Yoshida. They should move Devers to DH. They should trade lefty bat with prospects for pitching. They should sign FA righty power 3B. Oh gets some money pitching.... Busy busy couple months.
Adames is intriguing, but there is a BIG red flag. He is a reverse splits guy. For some crazy reason, he's bad against LHP. .697 career OPS. The Sox want to balance out their lineup with RH hitters. Yeah, he's a RH hitter. But he hits like a LH hitter against LHP. Hard pass for me.
I could see the Red Sox adding 2 starters. I have thought that since the season ended. My first thought was 1 free agent and Crochett. But, what the rumors for Crochett become are outrageous. I am ok with moving Devers to DH . The only outfielder they should be interested in signing is Soto. They need a catcher which no one is mentioning.
I am fully confident this ownership truly wants to compete. Even if they don't get anyone I am just happy to see them truly trying again. I can't wait to see who we have at spring training bro. It feels so good to be excited for a Red Sox season again.
@@vapinglabel3397 Yes because the last 5+ years all they have done is lied and told us they are trying when in reality were doing the exact opposite. Not saying they won't do the same thing this year, but it really does feel different this year. As long as they take big swings I'm fine with that, because you can't force someone to sign a contract. If they are bidding and making it competitive end up not getting who they want I'm fine with that. But like last year for Yamamoto they said they "bid" but it was so disgustingly low that they only made an offer to say "Hey we made an offer", but this year I really feel like they are truly going to actually try.
I remember last offseason around this time we were starting to get desperate because things looked so bleak. This offseason it feels like things are ramping up in the other way and that is exciting
@@redseatradioCorbin, Snell is already gone. He is a Dodger. Unless the redsox management moves faster, this is starting to look like the last few seasons: mere words and wishful thinking. Also the Soto bidding is crazy. With the money he’ll get, redsox can certainly address all their needs with the remaining top free agents. Wonder why is it taking them so long to sign the first of the top.
I think the Mets or Yankees most likely get Soto Corbin. I am more than happy with Boston making a full court press for pitching via the free agent route. Our minor league system is prospect rich and I prefer to keep it that way for the long term good of the team. Great prospects are not always that easy to replace. I am not really too crazy about Crochet for some reason. No reason to give the Whitesox a kings ransom for him. If the Redsox somehow come away with 2 of the 3 big free agent pitchers on the market then I will say Christmas came early this year. Pitching has been neglected with a lack of focus for some time now. Its time to right the ship. I am feeling better about some of our young pitching with Fitts, Preister and Hunter Dobbins ! I like that trio a lot !!! Great video my friend. Love your content and spirit !!! See you tonight! Joe
I like this idea a lot better. I know we have talent coming up at second base, but I don't know if it hits this year. Raffy is not a gold glove defender by any means, but I don't think he was a complete liability at 3B this past season, I'd rather see him still on the diamond.
I like the idea of signing Adames to play 3B, moving Devers to 1B/DH (platoon with Casas?) and bringing Rafaela to 2B. That is a really good infield (Adames, Story, Rafaela and Devers) especially if you improve your starting pitchers.
I think we'd all be good with bringing in 2 top of the rotation pitchers and I'd be ok with Adames however I still think Devers is going to stay at 3rd base but if the plan is to get him eventually to be the DH that makes sense. These are interesting times 👍
My biggest angst with signing Willie Adames has nothing to do with him. It is the philosophy… the Red Sox spent years asking us to be patient as they built up the farm system. The vision was to have a steady stream of talented, affordable players with multiple years of control, supplemented by free agents to plug holes to be a sustainable competitor. If we sign Adames it adds one more roadblock to key prospects such as Mayer and Campbell. I do not know if either Mayer or Campbell has played third, but these guys are super talented. Should we look at internal options first?
Maybe, but the beauty of building out the farm system like this is that it gives you all of those options right? If you sign Adames, well then maybe you can trade story at the end of the year, or go out and get a superstar pitcher on the trade market that you didn't think initially possible, or maybe Mayer plays 2nd until story's contract is up, or maybe well you get the point
You know, the TWO big free agent signings could end up being Snell and Sasaki which both align with the teams plan of staying away from long term huge $$$ deals for starting pitching. And Id bet Crochet wont warrant the massive cost being talked about. Add those 3 and we are in business even with the current constructed offense.
I am just hoping they sign at least 1 top tier FA this year. Most of the National media loves to say "the Sox are in on" It's what now gets the views. It could very well be that the Sox really do want all these players, but 1 will they pay for them (or overpay) and 2 do they really want to come here if it comes down to very similar options? I think the Adames pick up would make the most sense for all the reasons you suggested, however they really would need to get rid of Masa or Casas to make that work. We really won't know the truth on these things until much later on and lets hope we are not saying the same thing as what we have the last few years. They wanted to do things but did not get them done. Just open the wallet and sign one of those FA pitchers, trade to Seattle or Chicago for a young stud (use Abreu and Casas if you need to) Sign either Soto/Hernandez or Adames. We have all these prospects too, not enough positions to play them here so use them to get anything that you can't achieve via FA. Glad you are giving us the low down on which reporters have merit and which don't maybe one day we can have a video on how those media types rank in terms of accuracy or believability.
Said my peace on how much sense Adames makes for the Red Sox ..I think the ask on crochet is just setting the bar I think they will take less …Burnes is going to want too much ,,Snell and Fried make more sense to me. I’m starting to believe that they are committed to fielding a really good team in 2025 and beyond
Is anyone worried about Devers moving from 3B to 1B? The answer is trade for Machado. Awesome, right-handed bat and and ACE 3B. Devers DH if no sign Soto and 2 pitchers Lefty ACE Snell and Fried.
I really think some of these signings are dependent on other signings happening. If Soto signs soon and it’s with Boston, which I don’t think will happen. I’d bet the chips start to fall more favorably for Boston.
No trust me you want Soto. It’s having prime manny at age 26, or prime Papi, he is a walking hall of famer the cost is whatever, but how do you say eh I’m good on that
Willy Adames is certainly a great fielder, but what you have to realize about him is that, though he may hit from the right-hand side, he's not a right-handed hitter, in the sense that he's been below average against left-handed pitching his entire career (and above average against righties). So he would actually make the team worse against left-handed pitching - not what the Sox are looking for.
Like the possible Arenado trade. Actually think Teoscar makes far more sense than Soto. But if they sign Soto, at least they are off the snide. Burnes and Snell more important than Soto. Adames makes no sense to me as Rafaela should be our SS. We are talking really big $$$. Let's hope that talk isn't just cheap.
I'd love to see Fried or Snell and Sasaki. Or if they do the Crochet, no Sasaki and they have to get Vlad Jr to play 1st. I want to love Masataka but he feels so out of place in this line-up. Maybe trade him to Bloom (St. Louis) for Arenado. Just my 2 cents.
If Burnes gets Price contract I’m doing that 100x. If he’s trying to be between Strasburg/Cole I’m letting another team overpay for him. He’s the safest pitching free agent since Cole even if his ceiling isn’t as high. You can still be a successful starter with 8 k/9 and limiting hard contact and hrs and walks. He’s pretty consistently throwing 95+ pitches per start at 97mph and giving you 190 innings per year will help the rotation and the bullpen. I don’t buy the Jim Bowden “report” really doesn’t make any sense when you consider the other teams who might want to get him and what they can offer and also Getz comments on using Dylan cease deal to influence what they want to get back. It doesn’t make any sense. They got 85th ranked prospect SP in AA, journeyman reliever, low A OF non prospect and a AA starter with 2/3 potential but major reliever risk. That’s not 3 bonafide MLers. I’ll believe it when I see it. Are you worried at all about Adames swing and miss and middling average exit velo for a long term deal? If you can eat maybe 12m off of Yoshida doesn’t Arenado make the most sense for a swap? Maybe Yoshida+ 4m per year, Romero and another prospect for Arenado and helsley?
Um not crazy worried no. I think there is enough potential contact throughout the rest of the lineup to be okay with the swing and miss, average exit velocity a bit more just because that could lead to a downswing in power as he ages, but 81 games being able to pull the ball into the monster should help negate that a bit and he will be better protected in the Red Sox lineup so he may see better pitches to hit
For what it's worth,Willy Adames hit .191 against lefties this year. Ironically the same average Tyler O'neill had with runners in scoring position and 2 outs this year..lol..
With the Red Sox already having financially committed 47.9 million dollar toward Rafael Devers and Masataka Yoshida for 2025, I don't see them realistically moving Devers to DH which would immediately force them to eat a significant portion of Yoshida's existing contract in order to being better able to trade him away ... One question that truly needs to be asked here is how could Devers' offensive game potentially be negatively impacted by him no longer remaining a two way player ??? ... Devers strikes me as a player who takes a lot of pride in his overall game ... I highly doubt he would be very receptive to becoming a full time DH ... The Red Sox still have eight years remaining on his $331 million dollar ten year deal ... I'm quite sure that Red Sox management and John Henry would much prefer seeing him continue fully earning that huge salary by remaining as their everyday third basemen ... He truly is not that terrible only having committed 12 errors in 130 games at third with a .960 fielding percentage ... Though the team has little confidence in Yoshida defensively as an outfielder, he presently is still one of the best contact hitters in their batting order only having struck out 52 times in 421 plate appearances (12.4%) in 2024 ... In comparison the team collectively last season struck out 1570 in 6192 plate appearances (25.4%) which was well below average in 28th place in MLB ... Yoshida's ability to make consistent contact still makes him a valuable and viable offensive weapon in the middle of this batting order allowing him to pile up 72 RBIs ... His reliable bat and ability to spray the ball from "foul line to foul line" should not be overlooked or under appreciated ... The most "bang for their buck" and best investment that the Red Sox can make this off season is clearly "on the mound" by upgrading their MLB pitching staff and overall depth at the minor league levels ...
Maybe he would, but again signing someone like this would allow them to keep devers as a regular 3rd baseman just less reps on the field which I do think he would be okay with especially after getting hurt twice on the field last year.
@@redseatradio Corbin keep well in mind that Willy Adames did not hit left hand pitching well this past season ( .191 AVE / / .307 OBP / .316 SLG / .623 OPS ) ... The Red Sox bringing in his right handed bat would likely do very little in helping improve the team offensively against southpaws in 2025 ... Arenado and Bregman are possibilities, but I think the Sox would be much better off investing the amount of money they both would command toward improving our pitching ...

@redseatradio Valid point. Sometimes I fear its done for attention and clicks while misleadjng the fan base. I Can see why we want to improve defense at third, but youd think there are enough internal options here or suoer close than signing a free agent. Good problem to have.

Target Gilbert or Kirby, Euery and Sandy or Luzardo Painter Bohm or even a Babba Chandler Ashcroft and if Garcia from Texas is on the block, he seems like the better fit for Boston. My proposal, Abreu Kutter Grissom for Garcia and change. Mayer Montgomery Perales and Garcia Brother for Euery and Luzardo. Obviously dump Yoshi. Opening day, Wong Casas Campbell Adames Story Gacia Duran Anthony with Devers as the DH. Rafaela Sogard Refsynder and C on the bench. Rotation Euery Houck Luzardo Bello Giolti. A playoff team and Sox have Teel and the host coming with the ability to be the guys with the deepest pockets for the 26 FA Class headlines by Vladdy. A Duran Garcia Devers Adames Casas Story Campbell Antony Wong lineup is very scary sounding.

There are zero teams in Major league baseball that would pay a package greater than Casas Abreu and Wong for two years of crochet.
agreed
@@redseatradio Corbin keep well in mind that Willy Adames did not hit left hand pitching well this past season
( .191 AVE / / .307 OBP / .316 SLG / .623 OPS ) ... The Red Sox bringing in his right handed bat would likely do very little in helping improve the team offensively against southpaws in 2025 ... Arenado and Bregman are possibilities, but I think the Sox would be much better off investing the amount of money they both would command toward improving our pitching ...
SFX WooHoo... Full-er-est-ly-er-est-ly Throttle-er-est-ly
Says Adamas is 28 the cutting to a highlighted section where it said he's 29-53days as of the clip. Savage troll lol
You know I saw that while editing and I was like you have got to kidding me
Dream lineup for 2025:
1. Duran - CF
2. Adames - 3B
3. Devers - DH
4. Casas - 1B
5. Story - 2B
6. Rafaela - LF
7. Abreu/ Anthony - RF
8. Mayer - SS
9. Wong / Teel - C
Really interesting lineup you got there
Curious, where inside the organization is the Devers moving positions coming from? Anyone outside of the media trying to get clicks?
Hard to ask where the organization is, and then not believe that reporters are reporting what is going on in the front office right now
@redseatradio Valid point. Sometimes I fear its done for attention and clicks while misleadjng the fan base. I Can see why we want to improve defense at third, but youd think there are enough internal options here or suoer close than signing a free agent. Good problem to have.
And made an offer to Soto... Sox fans eating GOOD right now. As kong as they sign a couple of these free agents
*long
Yeah win a couple of these and we are cookin
ownership and these articles are making it very hard for my stomach to not feel excited. damn it ownership just make a move lol 😭
All they need to do is set off the first one
@@redseatradio the soto one right?
Is it true Soo wants 15 yer contract
It's being reported that red sox have upped their initial offer to Soto in both money and years in the contract.
it could be close to that
@@redseatradio Snell has signed with Dodgers 5yr 185m And redsox N E E D pitching
now Snell is gone, if Redsox are waiting on Soto we still need to keep an eye on pitchers
I'm not buying it. Soto and Snell and another starter. We are supposed to believe they are suddenly willing to spend 3/4 of a billion dollars? I can't even see them doing it over 2 or 3 seasons
No, not until they actually do something, I think it is totally fair to be pessimistic
sign 2 FA # 1 -3 ish starters, shore up middle relief, resign Jansen...........RH power hitter DH and lets go.................Soto is a waste of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Sox OF defense will be crazy, Duran in LF , raffaela in CF , Abreu in RF
Smoke and mirrors I’ll believe when I see it.
Is it legal to dream that much ? 🤔
Hope so
Much of his sounds wonderful but Why? All the talk about Mayer Campbell Anthony and Teel coupled with Grissom Dobbins Fitts Priester Wilkinson Penard Perales in 24 and Romero Blaze Blies Garcia Cruz Castro Paez Early Monegro Sandlin all following in 26. A trade seems like the most responsible way to start. A rumor I'd not a rumor until there is an inquiry. Breslow should start a few.
Burns won't be in Boston he will be playing in LA or Baltimore. Plus your still not beating O's or Stanky Yankees no matter who you add
Shit or get off the pot, I'm tired of rumors I want action. 😅
yeah we all do, but this is what we got righ tnow
Adames is cool but not for the reported 5/150 he’s seeking I’ll pass
I dont think it’ll get up into the 30 million a year range.
Well the season stopped, we have listened and fingers crossed we will look and see some great moves to upgrade our Red Sox. Everything sounds great!! It's exciting but we have to be a little cautious and not get too high YET!
that's very true but I really think it is okay to sstart setting high expectations
Take snell off your list
When’s Whitlock coming back will he start or bullpen?
He’ll be good for opening day, i think most likely bullpen
Good
I insist, CHW; they have their reality altered. Selling him like he's prime Randy Johnson... Move on.
I’m glad the ownership wants to compete for October baseball. Even if they’re unable to sign anyone, at least they gave their very best. Go Sox!
Stop beating the bush and get to the point I ain't got all day
My guy there is a fast forward button, an option to watch in a faster speed plenty of options outside of just complaining in the comments
@redseatradio I did 5min and
SOTO won't happen,
we will see
Pitching pitching and defense!!!!!
