5:29 The beginning of the end for Taylor Martinez. He was a leading Heisman Trophy candidate until that play. Although he had some brilliant moments here and there, he was never the same for the rest of his Husker career after that.
John Barkley i don't care about bowl games, Nebraska owned the series in this rivalry against Missouri, that was my only point, and that would be a great game :)
And 2 years later they've destroyed another Martinez with their swiss cheese off lines, non-existent running games, lack of skilled receivers and horrible play-calling. And still have the nerve to blame him.
My absolute most favorite call by any announcer: I tell ya he is running for his life. Their is red everywhere he looks. Sucks that I was born right as Nebraska’s rain came to an end (99) and I haven’t gotten to witness a lot of meaningful wins. I remember my pops telling me his favorite call being from a Colorado game back in the 90’s where Ahman Green ripped off a huge rushing TD and the announcer said something along the lines of they knew it was coming and they still couldn’t stop it.
Mid Wake I've said the same thing so many times… it started an unexpected slide the rest of his tenure. Nebraska was so good before this, and so bad after.
He was still a "good" runner, but he was never as explosive again. He kept getting reinjured. He still had some damn good runs later in his career, but none like his freshman and so years before the injury.
Pre-injury Taylor was the most explosive running qb I've ever seen. If he stays healthy that is a much different season even with the having to deal with garbage officiating.
😂😂 lmao one of the greatest football programs in the last 12 years? I'm not saying Mizzou is bad there a solid football program. I'll give you that. But there not a caliber of a Oregon or Alabama or Auburn. I'll stop taking when missouri wins a NC or wins the sec.
I respect what Pinkle has done at missouri. I'm still a little bitter that mu left the Big 12 and destroyed multiple rivalries but hopefully ku and mu can schedule a non-conference game soon. But mu is not winning the sec champ. The west is too strong this year no matter who comes out there most likely winning it.
I was living in kc at the time and I'll never forget one of the sports radio guys saying "Missouri is GOING to win this game..." so nonchalantly as though it's just a given. The only games beating Missouri i enjoyed more than this one was the flea kicker and the monsoon suh game.
Well this adrian martinez watch and this kid is three times better than taylor i think he'll even get mentioned maybe even compete for the heisman nebraska is going to back to greatness shortly give it a couple seasons and frost will have them back as a power house and feared like before!!!
Back when we had a good offense and defense. After this Bo went downhill. And the wisconsin game was the breaking point. No matter what I still liked Bo.
+AccordBass12 I've said before that Bo was never the same after the ass kicking in the Big 10 championship vs Wisconsin. He struggled in big games, his attitude went to shit. Personally I'm glad he's gone. I think Mike Reily will turn this all around.
+husker hammer I totally Agree plus the staff he had around him towards the end was not much of my liking. At first I did think Mike Riley wasn't the right fit for the program but after seeing these high profile recruits he's getting i do have faith. This year I see us winning 8 to 10 games and a shot at the Big Ten title game. Honestly I think we should of stayed in the Big 12 because Bo's system seemed to thrive in those times.
I never thought they'd leave the Big 12 but now I'm glad. I do miss a couple of the games like Oklahoma and Texas but having games with Michigan, Penn St and Wisconsin and the likes is refreshing and exciting. I agree 9-3 or 10-2 this year with a top 10 recruiting class in 2017. I think Mike Reily wins a couple Big 10 championships before he departs NU.
+husker hammer Man I hope so we haven't been relevant since since 2001 when miami beat us around pretty good. But overall i think we will be better off then having bo cuss out everyone on the sidelines like he still does. Mike will get us back to where we were around 2008-2012 it will just take some time.
Wasn't Gabbert the QB who claimed Suh spit on him from across the field? Either way...as a Husker who lives in Missouri, this makes me so happy to rewatch
Had Nebraska been able to play like they did in this game, the Washington Game, the Oklahoma State game, and the Kansas State game, no one in the country would've had a chance of beating them. They destroyed those teams.
At one time, we absolutely destroyed the #6 team in the country in the 1st quarter. That's what NU is capable of. We just need to be much more consistent.
We did not lead 31-0. Mizzou finally put points on the board when we hit 24. A "comeback" usually means they retake the lead at some point. They came within 14, that's it. Wouldn't consider that a comeback. NU won, get over it.
Ed Cunningham is dumb. Fair thing to do? Despite the fact that their passing stats are close, T-Mart had over a hundred rushing and 5 TD's! Gabbert had 1 good quarter, Martinez had 4!
yal got a nice lil win but you let come within 14 and you say you shut them out they came back to only lose by 2 scores this game couldv wen the other way easily
5:29 The beginning of the end for Taylor Martinez. He was a leading Heisman Trophy candidate until that play. Although he had some brilliant moments here and there, he was never the same for the rest of his Husker career after that.
Absolutely right.
The Missouri player put his helmet on Martinez’s knee/lower leg.
Some might say clean hit.
I question that it wasn’t intentional though.
sure was. he was just never the same after that hit.
2:42 that pull was absolutely textbook
That thigh injury started Martinez's downfall, he was never the same after that
That thigh injury was an ankle injury! :P Watch the slomo of that play!
you're right, i was just looking at the point of impact, regardless, he was never the same after that
John Barkley Dominating what ? haha, we owned them in the Big 12 haha
John Barkley series record : Nebraska vs. Mizsery 65-36-3 :)
John Barkley i don't care about bowl games, Nebraska owned the series in this rivalry against Missouri, that was my only point, and that would be a great game :)
I am the first comment in 4 years Nebraska has a different Martinez now
2&3
And 2 years later they've destroyed another Martinez with their swiss cheese off lines, non-existent running games, lack of skilled receivers and horrible play-calling. And still have the nerve to blame him.
I'm from the future from this comment...it didn't get any better
My absolute most favorite call by any announcer: I tell ya he is running for his life. Their is red everywhere he looks.

GKG35 My favorite call by an announcer was in the Big 12 Championship in 2009 “Going Down Again”! “NDAMUKONG is Dominating”
Dude, Martinez sprained ankle altered the rest of Nebraska's seasons with him as the starter. Martinez < 100% = not good.
Mid Wake I've said the same thing so many times… it started an unexpected slide the rest of his tenure. Nebraska was so good before this, and so bad after.

As a ku fan I enjoy watching this.
Dominating? Excuse me I don't find 0 conference championships dominating.
For Mizzou at least.

Lavonte David...that name sounds familiar.
This was a different team

Brought my cousin who was a Mizzou fan to that game on Lincoln!!! Wow was it awesome!!! GBR
This has to be one of my favorite husker games ever. Such good feelings!
Well this adrian martinez watch and this kid is three times better than taylor i think he'll even get mentioned maybe even compete for the heisman nebraska is going to back to greatness shortly give it a couple seasons and frost will have them back as a power house and feared like before!!!
5:32 Taylor was never the same after that play. Never. Sorry Taylor.
Henery was so awesome. Did he ever miss a field goal?

husker hammer I think will probably get a national championship to
I was at this game the weather was absolutely perfect!
I found Waldo
1st quarter was all ours >:D
Wasn't Gabbert the QB who claimed Suh spit on him from across the field? Either way...as a Husker who lives in Missouri, this makes me so happy to rewatch
GOO BIGGGGGGGGGGG REDDDDDDD!!!!!!!
5:32 the moment the season was essentually over for the Huskers.
Had Nebraska been able to play like they did in this game, the Washington Game, the Oklahoma State game, and the Kansas State game, no one in the country would've had a chance of beating them. They destroyed those teams.
Missouri was #6 most overrated team ever Mizzou was bad back then and is still bad today gbr
i know its been ten years, but fug off huskers, hope you loose every game of every sport you play
LOOSE? Hey dumbass, learn how to spell. Hilarious. Make it another ten years, dipshit.
3-9
Alex Henery, underrated
Love this video.
At one time, we absolutely destroyed the #6 team in the country in the 1st quarter. That's what NU is capable of. We just need to be much more consistent.
Missouri didn't even deserve to be ranked that year.
Hey, did Henery ever miss a field goal or pat?
I think if Martinez was not hurt Nebraska would have won the rest of the regular season games and beat the Sooners for the conference championship.
We did not lead 31-0. Mizzou finally put points on the board when we hit 24. A "comeback" usually means they retake the lead at some point. They came within 14, that's it. Wouldn't consider that a comeback. NU won, get over it.
In the fourth quarter, with the score 31-14, Blaine Gabbert was knocked out of the game on a vicious sack by a Husker defender.
this game was great
But it didn't? It went one way? Nebraska's. What's your point? This was 2 years ago man...
Ed Cunningham is dumb. Fair thing to do? Despite the fact that their passing stats are close, T-Mart had over a hundred rushing and 5 TD's! Gabbert had 1 good quarter, Martinez had 4!
Mizzou has always played the worst defense. A blind man could do a better job in the secondary.
Where's Waldo at 3:05?
Teabagging Missouri! Hate Missouri the state sucks too! GBR
3-9
Lol, Mizzou was talkin shit to me about this game.
i bet the tigers could have had a reset button
What a great way to end this series. Of course they'll probably be yearning for 2 touchdown losses in Lincoln, NE after a couple years in the SEC.
3-9
you lead 31 -0 and mizzou comeback and only lose by 2 scores
0:14 99 Red Balloons...
You beat a #1 ranked OU team but get dominated by a #14 ranked Nebraska team, either Nebraska is better than OU, Mizzou got cocky or both
yeah yal beat us but we had our moments
lucky spoon was gone
yal got a nice lil win but you let come within 14 and you say you shut them out they came back to only lose by 2 scores this game couldv wen the other way easily
@mario51man Nebraska 65-36-3 over Mizzou...I would call that ownage...
GO BIG RED
Helu is stiiiilll running.
We beat yall
2:21 lol
And OSU owns the Nubs
Ha
