- In this video I am working on my trailer and after removing the hub I find one of the bearing races stayed stuck on the axle shaft. I show you how to remove this bearing race using a bearing puller. Below is a link on where to purchase this from Amazon

wish i had this tool when this happened to me 3 hours from home!!!
good video! thank you.
Saved my life with this because with cutting you are likely to scar the axle thank you
Thank you very much sir. I have the exact same issue with a similar single axle 6 by 4 foot trailer. Spent a bit of time and effort baiting that inner bearing race with a lump hammer and bolster chisel, wd40 spray oil to soften it up, heated it up with a butane/propane torch three times over , it set the whole axle to flames due to the flammability of the wd40. Still no luck. I thought it had beaten me and was depressed, but then i saw your video. I haven't got a bearing puller , it makes things very easy. Cut a notch in it with a 4.5 inch angle grinder and was able to beat it off then. Thank you.
Saved my life. Got the race off easy.
Great tip for a non mechanic boat owner doing the basics. thank you!! Bearing seperator, of course i knew there had to be a tool fer dat!!
This inspired me to use a torch. Worked great
Thanks for helpful video 👍
Mazda 6 GG: Went and got the tool but it had nothing to grip on so used an angle grinder to make 2 little grooves on opposite sides. Worked like a charm.
My life saver,thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
It helped a lot I thought all hope was lost
Cheers! Thanks for posting this!! 🤙🤙
what if theres no room behind the race?
Cool, will that tool remove just the bearing itself, also the washer mushroomed against lock nut.
You should be able to get everything removed.
Thanks for making this video. This is exactly what happened while removing my wheel hub to service the bearings. Only one thing: the bearing race is still inside my hub so I think what is left on the axle is actually part of the inner bearing.
Yeah would be nice if I had a gear puller that nice
For me it was worth the purchase. So I bought one just for this job. Haven't used it since but still cheaper then hiring someone else to do it. Link in the video description to buy one off Amazon or go to Harbor Freight. Good luck!
That’s the easy way.. Show how someone can do it if they don’t have a puller..
A puller costs less than 40.00 and is the safest, easiest, and quickest way. Why would I want to make this harder and more dangerous? The other method is to use a rotary tool, chisel and hammer. If you don't have those tools you will get close to the price of the puller buying them. Good luck with whatever method you choose.
