The Price is Right Decades (Wii) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

- A single-player playthrough of four "episodes" of Ubisoft's 2011 Nintendo Wii game show game, The Price is Right Decades.
The game offers episodes from each of the four decades represented (1970s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s), and each of the decade's episodes mimic the show's look, sounds, games, and prizes from their respective time periods. Let me tell you, that makes some of these games awfully hard - the prices reflect what they were on the show at the time. So, you might fully well know what baby grand piano by company X is worth in 2005, or what a Toyota Corolla cost in 1998, but how about a console TV from 1974? It is cool, though, to see these differences reflected, and I think my favorite part of the whole thing is that the video descriptions of the items are all pulled from their own time periods. Video from the 1970s looks surprisingly not that bad when put into a Wii game!
I didn't play through every single episode that the game offers, but I played one episode from each of the decades represented. Here are the time codes:
1:11 Game 1: 1983
13:03 Game 2: 2005
22:43 Game 3: 1991
32:03 Game 4: 1977
At 42:08, I included a few of the bonus videos that are unlocked as you play through the main game.

R.I.P. Bob Barker (1923-2023) 😢 🥺
What a neat way to present the classic game show in a video game! The Price is Right Decades is a pretty amusing showcase of American consumerism spanning 40 years!
And The Price is Right has been a staple of both CBS and WKYT for over 4 decades, ever since the show's debut on September 4, 1972, but WKYT isn't the only station that carried the show for over 4 decades; other CBS stations such as WBBM, WCBS and KCBS also carried the show in the 4 decades since!

All game show games are bad. You never herd of this one.
You need to play through a lot more of this game.
7:32 Nostalgia alert! Pink and orange turntable walls, classic "bread slice" showcase podiums, and green carpeted steps.
"Congratulations! OH, YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES... Goodbye. Goodbye, Melanie. There's more Price coming up, ruh-ruh..."- Bob Barker after being attacked by Melanie, October 15th, 1991
"Stay tuned for more pricing games and the fabulous showcases coming up on the second half of The Price is Right!"-Johnny Olson.
I have to say: I like this unironically. The avatars give it that soulless look, but that's not unusual for these at the time. But they faithfully recreated the sets and games, and they use actual prizes from classic shows and have some clips of the real show. You have to commend that.
41:35, the following TPIR closing lines:
1972-mid 1980s: "Bob Barker saying goodbye, everybody!"
Mid 1980s-2007: "Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population: have your pets spayed or neutered! Goodbye, everybody!"
2007-present: "Don't forget to have your pets spayed or neutered. It's very important. Thanks for watching and we'll see you next time on The Price is Right. Bye-bye!"
1972-77 Nighttime: "This is Dennis James saying don't miss the show next week, because if you do, then we're gonna miss you!"
1977-80 Nighttime: "Bob Barker saying goodnight, everybody!"
1985-86 Nighttime: "See you next time on The Nighttime Price is Right! Goodnight, everybody!"
1994 Nighttime: "We'll see you next time on The New Price is Right! Bye-bye, everybody!"
Bob Barker's final TPIR from June 15, 2007: "Now, folks, I wanna thank you very, very much for inviting me into your homes for the last 50 years. I am deeply grateful, and please remember--help control the pet population: Have your pets spayed or neutered! Goodbye, everybody!"
1972-84: "This is Johnny Olson speaking for The (New) Price is Right, A Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Production!"
1984-2007: "This is Johnny Olson/Rod Roddy/Rich Fields speaking for The Price is Right, A Mark Goodson Television Production!"
1994 Nighttime: "This is Burton Richardson speaking for The New Price is Right, A Mark Goodson Television Production!"
2007-2018: “This is Rich Fields/George Gray speaking for The Price is Right, a FremantleMedia Production!"
2018-present: “This is George Gray speaking for The Price is Right, a Fremantle Production! This program has been edited for broadcast.”
There was actually a period from 1982 until the early 1990s where Bob would sign off with his pet population plug on some shows, and others just by saying goodbye. Originally the pet population plug was weekly, then twice a week, then three times a week, and then finally, daily. The first plug happened shortly after his late wife's death Dorothy Jo.
cbs-tv's longest-running game-show a video-game amazing just simply amazing.
I've actually have this game that i bought from a game store where they sell DVD's and i've actually beaten this game already since i completed every decade and unlocked all the bonus videos!
Also, i've been watching mark liotta's gameplay runs of TPiR decades for the nintendo wii and so far he's doing a good job in the game!
R.I.P. Bob Barker (1923-2023)
One of the Showcase prizes in the 1980s was a mini truck, and someone got both showcases.

This is a fun game. We need a remastered version of this for Nintendo switch, PlayStation, 4/5 Xbox series, X/s. and the new iPads. but hopefully not Apple Arcade because my mom is not paying for that!
The avatars in the yellow/gold, blue and red shirts remind me of Star Trek.
The 1970s one should have amber-and-eggcrate Contestants' Row displays (1972-74), as everything else about it suggests that era, despite being labeled "1977" in the game.
"You missed at five...dollars... You missed at TEN dollars... You missed at FIFTEEN DOLLARS... You missed at TWENTY DOLLARRRS... YOU MISSED AT TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS! What is the price?! $18! That's it."- Bob Barker after a contestant named Amanda bid $90 on an electric toothbrush, 2007

Eiameiam22 gaming roblox videos what are you talking about?
mark-goodson & bill-todman created the price is right in november of 1956.
34:27 Bob Barker use to be having Professor Price from 1977.
If there’s a new TPIR video game (published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Digital Eclipse, under license from Fremantle), it would be based on the current version, focusing on the Barker daytime era from 1972-2007, the Dennis James syndicated era from 1972-77, the Bob Barker syndicated era from 1977-80, the Tom Kennedy syndicated era from 1985-86, the Doug Davidson syndicated era from 1994-95 and the Drew Carey daytime era.
Dana Long Rich, Burton, Doug, and Tom would probably do their own voices.
In addition, all the original TPIR cues from 1972-83 would be brought back in their original recordings and in remastered form, and the game would be released for the Switch, Xbox One and PS4!
unfortunately it probably won’t happen
last tpir game (decades) was 2011
This show has been on for almost seven decades, 70 years and 12,000 episodes now AND THEYRE STILL GOING??????
The Price is Right was originally an NBC/ABC game show in November 26, 1956 before making the modern day jump to CBS in September 4, 1972

Dana Long I gotta ask, when you write up these cool commentary things, do you look then up, or do you just have an insanely completr us tv trivia encyclopedia in your head?
I do both.
Dana Long Either way, I'm impressed. Thank you for all of the effort you put into those, I love the substance they give to the discussions everyone has in the comments. I always learn something from your comments :)

It’s too bad that Bob Barker wasn’t in this game this would of made the game even better cause it’s in 1983
Nor drew carey
It's an American exclusive release.
BTW, I've got the 2010 Edition on DS which is Region Free!
And it's not a very easy one to find outside the USA!
I have The Price is Right DVD game, The Price is Right for Wii, The Price is Right Decades for Wii and The Price is Right Decades for Wii, but the only TPIR memorabilia I don't have are the TPIR home game, The Price is Right 2010 for Wii, the TPIR book and The Best of The Price is Right DVD, but, hopefully, I'll have enough money on Amazon to buy these three!
There was not a single double overbid on this TPIR Decades playthrough! BTW, everybody knows that on TPIR, if both contestants go over the actual retail price of their own showcase, two OVER graphics appear on the podiums, the losing horns sound and IT'S A DOUBLE OVERBID AND IT'S ALWAYS TRAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dana Long Hahaha yup, I played it before I sat down to record so I didn't have any epic fails in the video :) And definitely tragic, it's probably what the people on the Titanic heard in their minds right before plunging into the icy water :0
That's the negative side, but the positive side of TPIR is that if either contestant is within $250 or less ($100 or less prior to 1998) away from the actual retail price of his/her own Showcase, then he/she WINS BOTH SHOWCASES AND IT'S ALWAYS EXCITING AND AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my favorite video ever
DOUBLE SHOWCASE WINNER
You need to play through a lot more of this game.
