I remember playing this game show game on computer when I was a teenager and bought this CD-ROM at the electronics department and from the store. This looks pretty good to me. Well done!!!!!! R. I. P. Alex Trebek!!!!!
This looks pretty well done for a game show game. You can see Alex enjoyed recording his parts for this game which is rare. RIP man, I've never actually watched Jeopardy but I always wanted to (it doesn't air in my country)
I remember this. I had this game and the 2nd edition. Little bit of trivia: while Alex ruled and hosted both games, it was announcer Johnny Gilbert who read the clues instead (you wonder if it was because Johnny's rate might have been better?).
Hasbro really knew how to leverage the power of the PC to make a great game show adaptation, and Jeopardy! is an excellent example of that. It's amazing how much it hasn't really aged - I much prefer this over the newer games with the ugly CG characters.
i had this on my blueberry ibook circa 2000 and loved it but the mac version never patched a glitch that gave you only five seconds to answer final jeopardy like it was any other round of the game
I had the 2nd edition of this as a child and have this edition currently. Sadly, my Windows 10 laptop doesn't like to display the videos or the text for typing responses.
NintendoComplete Very true! It also plays better than the PS1 version despite having ever so slightly worse FMVs in certain cases (not full screen) and no 3D (2:00, in PS1 these are shown in 3D). Basically worse graphics for a few things, but smoother play Also 23:00 exiting the game is better (I mean, it plays like if it was the actual show’s credits!)
22:59-25:07, "Today's second and third place contestants will receive: (insert consolation prize plugs). This is Johnny Gilbert speaking. Jeopardy! is a production of Merv Griffin Enterprises and is distributed by King World!"-Johnny Gilbert.
1:23-1:32, "From the Alex Trebek Stage at Sony Pictures Studios, This... is... JEOPARDY!!!!!! Now entering the studio are today's contestants: a lawyer from Boston, MA: Tom Hughes, a school teacher from Miami, FL: Wendy Rosenberg, and our returning champion, a video game collector from Chicago, IL: Alex Florentine, whose 3-day cash winnings total $54,750! And now, here is the host of Jeopardy!, ALEX TREBEK!!!!!!!!!!"-Johnny Gilbert.
21:49, “What a great game we had so far. Players, Final Jeopardy! clue is upon us and it is... This performer's 1985 "Part-time Lover" became the first single to hit No. 1 on 5 Billboard charts. 30 seconds. Good luck."-Alex Trebek.

Contestants 10202 West Washington Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232-3195 We'll be right back with Final Jeopardy! right after this!"-Johnny Gilbert.
21:57-22:39, “Time's up, and we'll go first to Wendy with $2,600 and what is her response? 'Who is Stevie Wonder?' The man who won more than 20 Grammys in his career. You are right and how much did you wager? You bet it all and that doubles up to $5,200. Tom is next and did he come up with 'Who is Stevie Wonder?' No! He put up 'Who is Olivia Newton-John?' and that wager of $5,000 means he's gonna go down to 0 as we go to our leader Alex with $16,400. Did HE come up with 'Who is Stevie Wonder?' He did! And how much did he wager? $1,000 and that $17,400 means that he now has a 4-day total of $72,150 and he gets to come back on Monday to meet two new challengers! Have a great weekend, so long everybody!"-Alex Trebek.
21:19 we have Final Jeopardy coming up right now Johnny will tell us about the prizes for the runners up Johnny, Johnny: for todays second place contestant (insert prizes) todays third place contestant will recieve (insert another prize) and all contestants recieve the Jeopardy video game from Hasbro Interactive for use for either Windows 95 PC and on the Sony Playstation 21:22 and now once again here's Alex
NintendoComplete, you did not read the $1000 Presidential Info clue correctly. The clue states a 20th century president. And the 20th century ranges from 1900 to 1999. But you put in Abraham Lincoln who president from 1861 to 1865 which was in the 19th century.
I remembered when I watched a few Jeopardy episodes, there were a few categories about Johnny Gilbert and he actually read his clues before the contestants had hit the buzzer to answer.
Makamio Well, they tried to make it not bad. Windows 95 games had games with wildly different varieties of quality, some being shitty console ports, good console ports, and unique games that were best on Windows 95 and inferior on consoles (DOOM + DOOM 2, Quake). It also doesn’t help that Windows 98 was probably about to come out the year this game was made, effectively meaning better hardware.

RIP Alex
Does anyone notice they added the '92-97 theme and the '97-'01 theme together? I applaud that
Better than the 1984 and 2008 themes!
Yep. Because these two theme songs were used in the "Sushi Bar" set era.

Loved the cliff clavin reference at final jeopardy.
Be that as it may, those people have never been in my kitchen.
Me too.
11:59 - That's a familiar tune... I hope no one had a bad time watching this video.

Let's play final jeopardy, now the category for today is: Pop Music.
This performer's 1985 "Part-time Lover" became the first single to hit No.1 on 5 Billboard charts.
@@trafficlightcollection99who is Stevie Wonder?
I’m disappointed there’s no thinking theme when typing answers.
Definitely superior to the PS1’s outing.

Alex actually said, "Sorry, that's incorrect."

I liked playing this game on my windows vista laptop until it broke. Now I have a Windows 10 laptop and it don't work right.
Turn on compatibility mode.
I recommend playing the 1998 PC version of Jeopardy on Windows 2000 or XP in VirtualBox
This has anything to do with the Video or the Game.
I watches a lot of French Anime Openings, I'm Traumatized in Great
When you exit the game, there is a credits
2:20 Ding Used Wheel Of Fortune
On PS1 version, the ding is low pitched
Used in the main menu of jeopardy 2nd edition 2003 as well.

Why is Johnny reading the clues instead of Alex?
Hutch McGehee No Alex is the host, who reads the clues, and not Johnny because he’s the announcer.
