Truckers in Canada boast of their Rockies and those passes in British Columbia which are just piece of cake. look at these daring guys from India, they are the best.I salute their skills.
+Robert Evans steering is TOUGH esp in the areas shown in video. People who drive cars are scared to death on these narrow winding busy road, with rocks falling from top fairly regularly, just reminding fragility of region. Driving trucks in these region require immense courage and skill.
+Robert Evans Not every driver is skilled offroader. An being an offroader doesnt suddenly change geology of region where you are driving. ON these highways, you will find many carcasses of vehicles who either got crushed by a Truck sized boulder, or washed away with roads to depths several below or simply plunged to death simply due to wrong calculation. Even experienced offroaders in India bow to challeneges posed by these terrains.... What you imagine offroading in your brain, is a common activity for some rural, semi urban folks in India
+Robert Evans Here one life is not enough to understand India, you have formed opinion in couple of months?English education is not universal.. and need not be.. English is just necessary for service sectors and hardly 5% of Indian population(spread across different socio-economic sections of society) knows it. I would rather have Indian govt promote education/jobs in regional languages/scripts, which will make education more accessible and palatable for most of population I have spent few years outside India, even then I think opinions formed by me are not universally applicable to nation I stayed. The Engineering standards are there, you have to deal with Indian Industry(Public or Private) to understand... Roads Bridges are implemented according to standard unless they are opposed by locals themselves to avoid land acquisition for infra development. Land acquisition for infra development is a BIG thorny issue here in India opposed vehemently by land owners., The laws(traffic esp) are mostly not enforced forcefully, so that local politico does not fall out of favor from its vote bank.. Then you have to consider, India is huge and over populous country.. Regular maintenance is difficult and expensive. The infra collapses even in first world when its overwhelmed by high population density.... But India is moving in right direction, and in decades to come, things will improve further....
The only reason we as humans have made this far from early man life is the thrill of success after risking our own life, hats off to Indian drivers here you just made my day awesome
Well. India need innovation to overcome the hazard. If France and the U.K. could build railways under English channel, India should be able to cut the mountains and bore tunnels to widen the roads. Heavy machinery with technology is available . Why hesitate. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Yup we have build a tunnel on this road now but remember these mountains ranges are no ordinary these are worlds highest mountain "The great Himalaya" nothing is easy here
Robert Mathew dude.. himalayas are one of the youngest mountain ranges in the planet and still growing. They are still not ready yet for building roads due to structure not perfectly firm (Prone to very quick soil erosion ). Land Slides are common and remediation activities above 5000 m is very difficult. The air is too thin with less oxygen and an educated fellow like you will understand engine needs oxygen for combustion (At this height strain on any engine needing oxygen to burn fuel is enormous). Now coming back to France - Highest motorable road - Cime de la Bonette - 2802 m, Highest peak is mont blanc - 4808 m (Build a road till this height then we can talk). UK - (Highest Peak is ben nevis - 1344 m - Seriously?.. Do you have a right to question)
Specially punjabies..Grt drivers, workoholic people.and they have all kind of cirtcy...i have never seen any begger whos punjabi in my 21 yrs life till now..actually its an appreciable thing...
India has the highest number of accidents, and highway deaths. There are 53 accidents per hour in India. there is one death every four minutes from road accidents in India.. India only has 1 % of the worlds vehicles on the roads, but they have 11% of the worlds highway fatalities.. source: anadolu agency : 2021
+Monkey Hammer he will be long dead while making roads, at most he will be cursed fo causing more landslides in landslide prone regions, eating away whatever roads they earlier had
What crane? I see trucks, cars, tankers, and a BACKHOE removing dirt and rocks from a land slide that fell on the Small Narrow Road. Sorry good try though but it lacked thought and education.Priyesh Rai
Priyesh Rai 1. The yellow "object" is called a Backhoe 2. Roads can be widened without a complete shutdown. How about some work during the so called 5 month shutdown for snow?? Sorry I know I just blew your mind with that one. 3. Its just a funny comment about the narrow roads you don't have to be a dick about it.
It's kargil ladakh. Not leh. Leh come after kargil and leh is about 350 kilometers from zojila pass and kargil is just behind zojila so it's kargil ladakh road....... And for ur kind information Kargil and leh combine to form ladakh
Excellent capture sir, actually, our truck drivers up in the northern region have excellent driving skills because the terrain teaches them to be one and these truckers have excellent communication skills as well, I mean signalling to distant vehicles approaching them on narrow roads, courtesy of giving way to smaller vehicles around them , turning on sharp curve with the huge load on their backs, rarefied atmosphere making the vehicle pant and gasp for air and at the same time deliver power to the vehicle to pull itself, the truck driver is the one who gives the throttle the command by knowing how much to push. Sadly the truckers are abused by lot by the fleet owners first making them work for long hours at a stretch on difficult terrain for a paltry sum of money putting everything at stake. The the policemen harassing them , well you all know.

India has money and all the required resources. Unfortunately everything is in the probate coffers of politicians. they are anti nationals.

Is land abig problem for road infrastracture?
Not only India even pakistan and china all poor nations have such dangerous road.
It is very difficult to build roads in some terrains. Also, this is a very high altitude area with little oxygen.
Well after seeing some videos I would say that things are changing in both India and China.
