Mine used to run good, I over filled mine with oil and it started to run for 20 mins then it would die and it would take 10 mins to turn on again and then it would die after 5 mins. I drained the oil so it wouldn’t be too full and I keeps shutting down. Do you know how I would fix the issue of oil getting into other parts of the generator?
Not real sure on that. It might need to be disassembled and cleaned or maybe it will resolve on its own after a while. If you call Cummins service center they are usually pretty good at diagnosing and helping understand what’s going on. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Had to change the carburetor on my 60 hour Onan gen. cause it sat for almost 2 years and no one ran it. Could that also be an issue? According to camping world they can’t be cleaned out.
Fuel is not getting to the generator. I replaced the fuel filter and the incoming hose was dry at disconnect. I connected the genny to an exterior gas can and it starts and runs fine. CW says it's still a generator issue, Cummins says it's a chassis issue. Can I run a wire into the fuel line to determine blockage or attach an air compressor to it to attempt clearing? 2016 Minnie Winnie 31K, Onan 4000 generator.
Use a boat fuel primer bulb in the line to force fuel into the fuel pump to prime it if it doesent prime when holding down the start stop rocker switch in the off position for 15 seconds
What about if it was running good but now it wont even crank? Light wont even come on? Fuses are good, i changed the starter solenoid and still wont even try a turn on
If it was running good and now it has no power. I would make sure the battery is charged and the connections are super tight. If that’s not it, then the circuit board could have failed and may need to be replaced. That’s happened to me before.
Does anyone know how much fuel it takes to run one of these for about an hour? Any close estimate would be appreciated. 1 gallon of gas? 3. gallons of gas? I found the answer on line They said about One Gallon of Gas an Hour . Thank You.
And some models have a oil pressure sensor that can get fouled and need cleaning.
😄👍🏽
Thank you!
Glad it was helpful 😄

Can you please tell me who I go to to get my generator fixed
Sure… you can find a local RV repair shop, Camping World or find a Cummins Dealer in your area. www.cummins.com
Hope that helps.😄👍🏽

Yeah that could be an issue. They are somewhat sensitive units
I might have put too much oil because the 4k (microquiet ky) holds 1.6 quarts, I think I added extra.

That’s a tough one. I’ve never encountered that issue but blowing air might be the best solution.

How can I get a properly check my oil level if it won’t start; the dip stick is dry. It was running fine 2 weeks ago. I’m in a hot climate.
If it’s dry then I would add some oil until it starts. If you overfill it then you can always remove the drain plug to release the excess.
Where can I find fuel pump parts
I use Amazon.
@@rvboss2911nice video I'm going to check minds now thanks

It depends on the load. According to the Cummins manual…No load=.3gal/h, Half load=.5gal/h, Full load=.7gal/h.
Hope that helps 😄
