      They need to have a Decibel limit on Entering the Park. Nothing more annoying that morning in the Park and hear Bikers coming from 2 Miles away. You are allowed to carry a Firearm in the park to Protect yourself against Bears. Would never have to use it, except as a last Resort. Cheers!?

    I sure hope y’all had a .44 magnum revolver or at least bear spray but preferably both. I’d be hard pressed to sleep soundly in grizzly country. Such a FABULOUS video! I felt like I was right there with you both. That had to be the best beer Joey had YTD! 🤠

    • @arthurbrumagem3844
      @arthurbrumagem3844 Год назад +1

      Unfortunately if you are sleeping when a grizzly comes in neither of those is going to help 😂

    • @andydavidson4108
      @andydavidson4108 6 месяцев назад

      If you have a .44 magnum, make sure the front site is filed off. That way it does not hurt so much when the griz shoves it up your ass.

      Catherine is carrying bear spray - you can see it attached to her shoulder strap. Bear spray is significantly more effective than a firearm at deterring a charging bear.

When I first saw Grand Teton I was amazed how beautiful it is! I had never realized there's a place in continental United States that's so beautiful! Thank you Catherine for this video, It was well worth the wait. Keep safe, and best wishes.

    Good morning Catherine from Red Lodge Montana. I moved here 5 months ago from North Central MT (320) miles north when I retired August 2021. I lived there 16 months and got to explore Glacier National Park and all the other beautiful scenic places up there. Now I'm excited to see and explore the scenic Beartooth Hwy dubbed the most beautiful. Red Lodge is the beginning of it over here to it. It's 68 miles on the Beartooth Scenic Hwy to North Entrance of Yellowstone Wyoming. It's set to open end of May. They are currently snow blowing it. That hwy is closed October to May because of the elevation and snow. I was blessed to find an amazing apartment here only 7 miles to the ski resort. My apartment has view of the mountains and about 6 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌 come every day right up to my living room window. So awesome. I'm so happy I retired here. Yes we have about 5 months of winter and snow but for me I'm a snow skier still at 63 so I love it and it's so beautiful to see it. Looking forward to exploring the place you are at now. I haven't gone backpacking like you but I get out and walk trails and just driving around in this area is amazing scenery. It's so beautiful here. Thank you for sharing your adventures. It inspires me to go see these places.

      Candy, thank you for your retirement story!! LIke Catherine I grew up I'm Southern California and now live in Arizona. But love Montana and been thru there traveling to Glacier NP and then onto to Banff and Jasper backpacking in the Canadian Rockies years ago. I will perhaps make it up to Red Lodge someday. Enjoy your retirement in beautiful Montana 😃👍

      @@dutchman6969 How funny...I too grew up in Southern California. I lived there 20 years, then moved to Florida lived there 24, then Texas 3 before retiring to Montana 2021. So I've had plenty of beach and hot weather for 47 years lol. It was time for me to enjoy my love of snow skiing and other winter sports before I get too old lol. I love the 7 months also of spring, summer and fall here. Not so very hot like the other places I lived for sure. It's great weather to hike and explore the beauty here. Thank you for the comment 🥰

    Thank you, Catherine, for taking us with you on a favorite Yellowstone trail. Slough Creek holds some fine memories for me. In 2011 my wife and I walked the trail where my brother and I had walked in years before. This last time I carried the ashes of my brother and deposited them on a hillside overlooking a little lake. You need a park permit to do that (which I had), but didn't see anyone else on the trail. You missed a good photo opportunity......the horse drawn wagon that goes into town for supplies for the ranch at the end of the trail, which is the only access.
