In my humble opinion, there’s nothing better than backpacking in hiking, and seeing grizzly bears or wolves. Thats the reason why I love the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, and my favorite mountain range the Wind River. The scenery was amazing.
Wow Wow and Wow! Thank you for sharing that stunning scenery! Marvel Lake was beautiful! Thanks for sharing this backpacking trip! So very beautiful! Very happy the bear left you two alone!
My Dear Friend Catherine, Well worth the wait. Time in the mountains seems to move soooooo, slowly. The mountains seem to have an infinite ♾️ time they seem to stand as the sentinels and the guardians as time passes around them, they are not in what they protect so dearly. They move in a totally different time then the earth itself. It was a long time ago in a different place. I went up for a weekend trip. I went in in Colorado and came out a year l8r in Wyoming. Ofcoarse between the time I went in and came out, needless to say I was 2 different people. First thing I remember was when did we, as a people become so noisy. It is almost obscene and to say the least offensive. You have come so far in such a short period of time Catherine, U should be so proud of yourself. Time in the mountains change a person, in ways no one else will ever know. So in closing, you are coming into your own little lady. As always may U always have a warm gentle wind at your back pushing you forward. May you always be traveling into another beautiful SUNRISE. So many places to see, so little time. 1 AT A TIME.
I can't believe the trips that Catherine is ticking off--every good one there is; Joey out there with you--two of the greatest RUclips gurus. Yes--maybe the most beautiful place on earth. Absolute must hike before one dies, and you got it.
Thanks to both of you for taking us along. I have never been healthy enough to do this. Birth defects, work damage, etc. meant I could only do roadside view and short walks. However my visit to Banff and Lake Louise some years back were awesome. As beautiful as the video is, a camera cannot capture the full awe of those scenes. Anyone who can see it in person should do so. We also spent time in Waterton that summer which again is amazing. The wildfire smoke the summer I was there played havoc with me as you could taste it and it really killed the resolution in the images I took with my Canon 7D camera. This video showed me how much I missed by staying on the roads, but also reminded me of the powerful majesty of the Canadian Rookies. Get there if you can.
Also six weeks in Alberta really messed with my internal clock. Having light until 11pm confused my system. I remember thinking that going to bed with day light in the window was something I had not done since kindergarten and I was in my sixties.
Heaven on Earth!! Epic views!! I am blown away! Oh Canada! You are beautiful beyond words! High fives Catherine and Joey!! This adventure tops them all! From the smallest hummingbird at 6:02 buzzing around your camera, to the magnificent Grizzly at 24:34!! Amazing footage!! Stay safe, strong and have a super week!!
Your camera work and production are world class , it’s as if I where walking with you, so I had tears knowing I will probably never get there to see 29:34 such beautiful creation ,you deserve an Oscar 👏👏👏👏thanks for sharing
kudos Ms Cath. I remember how u were scared in the beginning to do this way of. life. Now, you have become a pro. I envy you at the same time congratulate you for this wonderful journey on Gods own Earth.. Keep going. One of you're longtime followers...❤
An absolutely beautiful place! One thing that impressed me (other than the natural beauty) is how well-maintained everything was in this park----campgrounds, bridges, pathways, etc. You can see how the people who take care of this gem AND the people who visit, value where they are. Thank you, thoroughly enjoyed your video!
Welcome back to my country. I think you should always be welcome here. Thank you for making everything look so good. I love watching your videos, but this one was the best.
Cat... Hi again sweetheart. Let me tell you why I always use bear bells now. I've had three face to face encounters with black bears. All of them were on trails in thick brush just like the one you were on. The first two ended well with the bears turning around and crashing off through the undergrowth. I wasn't so fortunate the third time. In early May of 1992 myself and two buddies were trekking in the Superior NF north west of Duluth MN. I was leading the group on a trail much like that. When I rounded a corner and was literally face to face with what I thought was a large black bear. In an instance it charged and knocked me to the ground. I put my arms up over my face. It bit me four or five times on my right arm and shoulder. And just as fast it turned and ran back down the trail. I think it would have been worse if I had been alone. The wounds weren't really that bad. Just a bunch of puncture wounds. Well, a lot of puncture wounds. Some quite large. You know how it is when you're several miles from the trailhead. And that was in the days before s.o.s devices like your Garman. After some field first aid and what seemed like the longest and most painful hike of my life. We made it back to the truck and drove nearly 125-miles back into Duluth. It took twenty four stitches to put things back together. Pretty lucky I guess. So since then I always use bells. Both are like mini cow bells. The one on my staff is about 2-inches and the one on my pack is around 5-inches. Yes they're quite noisy. They clang around nicely. But I haven't had another chance meeting like that since. And I've been to the same area many times since. That was just a black bear Cat. Maybe around 400-pounds. I would hate to think how a similar situation with a grizzly would turn out. I know you carry bear spray. But even if I would have had any. It happened so fast it wouldn't have mattered. Now you understand why... I worry about you when you're in bear country. Please reconsider your position on bear bells. I would be devastated if something like that or worse were to happen to you. So please humor me and use this to pick up a couple bells for yourself. Even if you only use them occasionally. I'm not trying to alarm you. Well, yes I am. Please be safe and well sweetheart. Have fun wherever you go. Love you. 🙏 Randy. 👍
Catherine WHY didn't you do that side hike up that ridgeline? That hike and those views are LEGENDARY! That view of Mt Assiniboine is probably one of every 10 photos on calenders across the world!
What an amazing adventure with spectacular scenery! The mountains and the lakes were stunning! Thanks for taking me along, it was exciting as you dodged the grizzly bear. Joey captured some pretty cool footage on his hike. Eighteen miles was quite a push. Good Job to both of you!😀👍
My definition in a dictionary for majestic would say CANADA. I love our west and we too have stunning views but there is something more rugged and wild as you head further north into Canada. Loving this trip. Thank you for sharing!
When I have a Grizzley encounter on trail, wouldn't mind it being just like that. Beautiful up there, for sure. And ornery friends are the best friends. 😂
That was amazing spectacular scenery. I'm impressed with how the Canadian government sets up the backpackers with campsites and storage. The grizzly can definitely put a lump in your throat but at least there were no cubs with that grizzly.
This is why I watch your channel. You backpack into some beautiful places. I'm can't hike like that, so your videos give me the opportunity to see these magnificent places.
Thanks for this video, you brought tears to my eyes , i use to hike the Canadian Rockies some years ago with friends , one of them passed away very young , hope she can see this scenery at ease now wherever she is .🐻
So nice to have someone else to hike with especially when you are in Grizzly country. Such stunning views, Wow. Thanks Cat & Joey for sharing your adventure with us!
Absolutely beautiful scenery. Including that grizzly bear, he was beautiful. I'm glad you guys made it out safely. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels
Dear Cat 🫶😃thanks for that amazing video. 😍🙏 We also had memories on 2019 🥹 good to hear, you are save again 🖖⬆️ many greetings from you huge Berlin Fan couple, Nicole and Hardy 😃🐻🫶
The Canadian Rockies and The Bavarian (Oberammergau and Neuschwanstein Castle) and Swiss (Lucern) Alps are probably my 3 favorite/prettiest places on Earth.
All I can say is, OH, WOW 😲. What a thrill to watch your video. What stunning beauty in Canadian provincial parks!! Especially this one. Good that the grizzley kept to himself 🥴🥺 & you could walk on. Great experience for you two. Glad you're safe. Thank you for sharing 🙏
WOW AWESOME thanks so much for sharing this with me. I love your videos. Always spectacular. What a beautiful area. Glad you made it safely past the bear.
Glad your having a wonderfull time in my country there is a mountain range to the west of you called the Purcell mountains with more spectacular views and trails enjoy. 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍
It’s been over 20 years since I hiked Jasper and Banff. I’ve explored all the mountains in the western states and Alaska and in my opinion there is no better scenery than the Canadian Rockies. Watching this video brought it all back. It made me catch my breath. What a treat!
That entire trip was unreal! Does it get any better than that?! WOW! We live in a stunning world - thanks for sharing, Cat! I enjoyed every minute and am happy for you that you enjoyed blue skies after the cold, rainy previous trip.
This video was magnificent . Thank you for bringing it into our home. You must have been exhausted. So very glad that you and Joey had a safe trip with that bear so close.
This goes on my list of the top 5 Cat adventures. In fact, I will make this my #1 fave. Thank you for showcasing my beautiful country. Canada is exquisite.
Quite the hike. The bear looked calm, not excited so that boded well for hiking past him. The lake afterwards was a cool postcard moment. Sunset was great as well. Sunrises are also a treat, getting up early and watching it come up while one enjoys a morning coffee. Probably the most nervewracking transit was the hike through the head high bush as you don’t know what is a few feet beyond and very easy to pass by a grizzly without knowing it. Thank you, Catherine.
I'm really liking this collaboration between you and Joey, Cat. Very good results, especially here in this episode. Glad that grizzly bear was preoccupied. No doubt! Cannot believe how beautiful it is in that part of Canada. Cheers.
Stunning. Thank you for taking us along. Used to do lots of backpacking alone in Cali, glad you had Joey along to enjoy the bears, from a distance 😂. Be safe, and thanks from Arizona🏜️
Spectacular, oh Canada 🇨🇦😍, stay free CG ❤ happy 👣

Absolutely stunning, awesome, gorgeous scenery, I’m jealous 😎⭐️🤩
Great video! Gorgeous views. Assiniboine peak looks like a frozen Egyptian Pyramid. LOL😂 Love the wide angle camera views. Thanks.
That was awesome and very beautiful.

Thanks for posting, absolutely beautiful.
It's funny you called it the Canadian Matterhorn. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it in your video.

You are a machine...Beautiful place. Your smile brightened up the place. Keep on truckin...be well, stay safe.
Love the post-bear encounter banter. Cat: "We made it", Joey: "So far..." 😂
lol 😂😂
@@CatherineGregoryAdventures Admire how you you kept your cool though! 👍

Thanks so much Randy. I appreciate you sharing your story. That’s scary and you were lucky! I understand why you prefer having the bell. Whew!
Bring tears of inspiration to me and evokes my creative muse. How BEAUTIFUL! This, to me, is one of Mother Earth wonders...
Thank you❤
18 miles…wow

Yes and even in the Provencal campgrounds I stayed tent camping in, they supplied us with fire wood read to use and they were so clean!!
This is why I watch your channel. You backpack into some beautiful places. I'm can't hike like that, so your videos give me the opportunity to see these magnificent places.

Oh to be young and brave again! Hope you brought along bear spray. The scenery up there is outstanding. Thanks for taking us on this adventure. 😎
We both carried bear spray. :) Thank you.
I saw one can of spray and I bet there were three all together. Serious business.
One tent per site?!? On another note, your videos are always a treat for the eyes.
Limit the amount of people , you limit the negative impact.
Thank you for the beauty ❤
WOW!!!! Beautiful, Beautiful!

I had to go back to 19 minutes in and pause just to stare at the scenery. Not sure I have ever seen anything so spectacular. What a rush !!!
The video is gorgeous as always. But, the sound track was particularly beautiful too.
Thank you very much!
