im 26 and i love pre war racing cars its not just an "old guy" thing
I know I'm 22 and I love this stuff, I'm just hoping there's enough of us to carry the torch when the time comes.
The 1980's cars are very ugly. The 1920's and 1930's large engine cars are beautiful, and the engines are far cooler than anything that came after. Cadillac made a V16.
@@Ritalie I know, I 100% agree. And I'd love to somehow re-create that v16, they're so rare it's crazy
@@bobby3eb Loads of young people would build or buy such a car if they had time, money, and space to do it.
@@Ritalie 80's cars grew on me, I like the boxy family cars now. It's purely nostalgia, though. And the fox body 5.0 Mustang! Oh la la!
the whole interview his eyes never leave his car. that's love.
i noticed it as well. it's heartwarming to know real craftsmen and lovers of the machine still live.
When Jay stopped the car at the end that guy breathed a huge sigh of relief and then two more after that! I think he was pretty worried about his baby on the road. He loves it for sure.
correct but now the car is available for purchase....I guess love has its limitation
Now get back to the gamma sector!
@@TheGel69 WTH! Guess the car was not at it's forever owner...I would sell to Jay at a discount, best home ever! you could do visits..
I really enjoyed this gentleman, very humble considering how much work and effort he put into it. He knows about his car as well, not just random facts the guy is intelligent and knowledgeable. Nice work sir.
Nk
Wish I had more friends like Jerry. Seems like a genuinely nice guy - and terribly talented.
As a Packard fan, I'm just in awe of this vehicle. When they opened the side and I seen that motor gleaming just wow! What wonderful work, and dedication to recreate such a vehicle. I myself can not afford a Packard, so I have to live vicariously through others, and this one was a thrill.
You can afford a Packard!! Just not a senior model. A late 30's through 50's junior model is very affordable. I love my 1938 Packard Six Coupe and did not spend a lot to get it.
This was a fun show. Jay's guest today is one of those creative types. He has a twinkle in his eye.
Cactus Tweeter yes. And he is the boss at home.
Whenever I see a fine machine like this, the word "motorcar" immediately pops into my head. A forgotten word that I think goes perfectly with these great old machines. Incredible re-creation!
Beautiful car. This is exactly the type of thing this channel needs more of, pre war excellence (especially Packard!)
The best part about this car is that it is driven and a hundred years from now it could still be driven.
If you ever find yourself near Dayton Ohio I highly recommend visiting the Packard museum. Beautiful cars from all eras + a few Packard aircraft & marine engines. Packard built RR Merlin (P51 Mustang engine) V 2500 v12 (PT109 engine) Liberty V12, even have a Packard built turbine engine. Works of art on wheels, masterful engineering and craftsmanship.
Jay, you are the coolest most decent dude in the car biz. Thank you so much for using your talents and resources to connect with all of us out here who do our best to keep the love of these machines alive. Us older guys need to help the younger folks get the fever! You are a blessing man, a true blessing.

this car demands goggles and a scarf. the owner already has the right moustache. :D
Scarfs on a open wheel car are a bad idea. Isador Duncan was killed when her scarf got caught up in a wheel?
:O that sounds horrible.
Perhaps an ascot instead of a scarf...
Very well documented case. Also she has a whole wiki page. Kudos for that.
agreed, a bike rider like Jay should know that even at 40mph, a bug in the eye can be extremely painful, please Jay- goggles!
19:04 Jay diplomatically steers the conversation towards the wobbly tyre like a pro.
Quite liked that bit, at first I thought he was gonna crack a joke but turns out its a real thing never heard of tyre shaving before, would be cool to see it done
@@SnakeyUk08 I have never even heard of a Tyre, a Tire maybe... lol. Just kidding, Like General Patton said, England and America are two nations separated by a common language. 👀
@@SnakeyUk08 British people are strange, I hope you agree
What a great episode! Jerry is one cool/accomplished man! Had some really rare gigs and knows how to put together a tremendous piece of rolling art! Really nice chemistry in this episode too!
One of your best episodes yet.
Beautiful work, all from a photo, and a lot of dedicated work. Thanks Jay.
This is so cool! I'm only 23 but find that old vehicles have such an aesthetic to them. I love taking the Farmall H out, thing won't die.
Beautiful work, this guy put heart and soul into a classic build. He made something that will last a long time. The preservation of past and know how of these classics is just awesome. I'd say he assembled a Packard from the parts bin of the world, and not a recreation, but an assembly. The style and look is perfect.
that is an awesome piece of facial hair respect to a man who can rock a handlebar moustache👍👍👍👍
Once upon a Jay Leno, there was a Denim.
...and they lived happily ever after.
~The end~
😀
More beautiful love story than Twilight
Only the finest in luxury apparel for Jay Leno. I'm surprised he doesn't have denim interior in his lesser value cars. The Jeff Dunham Levi gremlin would go great in his collection.
You gave Jay a nickname without realizing it... "Jeff Denim". It can also Be Jeff Dunham's Gremlin's name.
よよ
Great Build, Jay your a Lucky Guy to get behind the wheel of so many Cool Cars.
But if anyone deserves it....Its you. The love of how things work comes through as you talk to the different people.
I get emotional watching these. Such a beautiful piece of art and all the work and passion that went into it.
That is so amazing, I had to watch it twice in a row. What a beauty. That takes a skill level I just don't possess. I truly admire those who are that talented. Nice. I watched a documentary on Packard over the weekend.
A true work of art. To his wonderful loving and sweet wife we all day thank you and bless you . With out your kindness and understanding we could not enough this wonderful machine.
That line from the top of the engine hood to the top of the dash is so nice. Boat tail as well.
Mr. Jay I am so happy that cars have such a great protector and champion as yourself.
This is exactly the era and type of video I like.
Thank you Jay Leno for so many happy moments.
Unreal craftsmanship
Well, Jay made me realize that I am an old young guy I guess! That is one awesome car with a ageless design. Great show Mr. Leno and thank you for sharing.
My father is currently making this exact car from all original packard parts. My grandfather once upon the time was the largest packard parts dealer in the western half of the United states. He sadly passed away just over 2 years ago. He sold most of what he had, so sadly we only inherited 2 Packards. This 1929, and a 1953 clipper. RIP Gary Wendell Brinton
Beautiful attention to every detail! Really enjoy seeing the restorations/recreations that Jay has here! Keep up the good work!
Wow, that is really something. The time dedication it took for him to do that is amazing. Thanks for posting.
Another winner of a video, Jay. Thanks to you and your guest!
Who doesn't love Packards? A show of hands? I see none. Seems everyone loves Packards! Excellent job and thank you for bringing this to light. Black on red and hand made, she's beautiful!
Jay's smile was ear to ear, thank you for posting this great vid keep them coming.
I enjoy seeing your collection and your guest's cars. Many of us love the old cars, but so many of them are disappearing into private garages and rarely see the light of day. I know their value and rarity makes many owners reluctant to drive or show them. Thanks Jay for sharing these cars with us.
I talked a few years ago to this gentleman... very nice person! A very approachable individual who enjoys conversation...
Thank You Mr. Leno for the great videos, and for keeping it free to watch on RUclips. Most television is unwatchable these days. My son and I always watch your videos together, then get our hands dirty working on our own cars. Passing on the love of everything automotive to a new generation.
Nah, These are my favorite videos from you, Love the history aspect of these cars. and I love the lesson learned.
I'm sorry to mention for the car builder, thank you for your dedication for this beautiful car.
Love these owner builder profiles Jay, especially when they are on amazing cars such as this. Keep them coming.
Beautiful car, lovely appreciative video. Thank you, Jay!
this is absolutely beautiful. my hat's off to jerry and all those involved in the making of this car. fascinating history of mr. miscevch's as well. thanks Jay for bringing this to youtube!
Absolute pleasure watching and listening to these two guys chat cars 👍 great video!
This episode needs a like button the size of California. So glad this auto was shared with the world!!
I wish cars still looked beautiful like that.
Yep and look at what most of us drive now days, plastic jellybeans with angles.
Until you crash and become one with the car.
SmoothRide Scooter
And thats why you have yourself a car and you dont onlylook from your bicicle the rich people cars.
I think the beauty would be lost in a cacophony of daily traffic if every car was still made to look beautiful. Classic cars were once just thought of as outdated junkers before time gave us some perspective. It's the contrast between then and now coupled with the rarity of seeing them that really helps us appreciate them now.
That would be a dream.. and it could happen with hybrids..Big beautiful chrome and wood..
Beautiful old car. I love Packards. Thanks Jay.
Great build well done, thanks for letting us see this car
Jay Leno seems to know everything about every car that was ever made. Here he demonstrates that he knows the wheelbase size of these 90 year old Packard's. Astonishing!
As a teenager I bought a 1948 Packard. It was also a straight eight. Loved that car. I only paid $20 for it.
Very cool! What talent to build that car! The owner should be very proud. Thanks for sharing.
I actually eagerly await these episodes on my phone. Love it.
Such a beautiful piece of history. What an amazing and beautiful job!
An excellent story-I really enjoyed it. I like how you improve parts on the older vehicles to make them more reliable and enjoyable. Keep them coming Jay.
I love Packards, anything Packard, even the engine placed in the P51!! The Packard Speedster was a fave of mine!! Built a model of the speedster when I was 6... I did a great job on that paint job!! I just LOVE the sound the P51 makes on a high speed flyby!! Thanks for displaying this Gem of history!!
Nice build, what a amazing task putting something like this together again from parts all over and making new ones. Great car !! Thanks for sharing.
I can't get enough of this show...........what a fine car! Thanks Jay
Great job Jay and crew. I never miss an episode. This guy knows his stuff and I do appreciate the home builds. I grew up in Ventura...cool that the body was built there.
what a piece of art that thing is....
love the banter back and forth. thanks guys
That guy's moustache is legendary.
Yea, we LOVE all kinds of projects! What a machine!
You did a great job on that Packard Jerry!
An absolute beautiful machine and one of the nicest Jay has had on the show !
I LOVE Love love all the details of the old cars. this was a stunning detailed challenge of work! I can just imagine the details and research put into this car! short of words, long in dreams and desires! WOW is never enough!
Just simply a beautiful creation. It was fun riding along, thank you Jerry and Jay. Chuck in Kansas
The actual Jesse Vincent Speedster is in Dayton Ohio at Americas Packard Motorcar Museum. It is still shown and driven regularly.....this car looks IDENTICAL
The original is faster due to aluminum body panels.
Wow, getting parts from all over the continent to faithfully recreate this jewel from packard components is awesome.
Wonderful guy. Really humble. What great accomplishment. You guy need some flying goggles.
What a beauty. He put a lotta love in that build. The no windshield stuff I am use to that on my Sportster. The windscreen helps a whole lot on any ride. Thanks Jay.
The best thing about Mondays, a new JLG video! thumbs up & thanks.
What a fabulous recreation. Much respect.
Jay is very knowledgeable about Packard.
Gorgeous looking replica, what an attractive finish to the body and that engine is really beautiful. Thanks Jay and Jerry, you're a craftsman.
This guy was so cool, is so nice to see a couple of guys who have perhaps never met before having such a nice conversation about one of their loves. Regardless of peoples like for back to basic youtube videos that Jay has been during COVID 19, I much prefer videos like this one. Look forward to seeing them again.
I love cars that have THIS much research put into them, owners always know every little detail about them...
man, the production level on these videos just keeps going up and up...
those slow close-ups that pan around a specific part are awesome
good job guys push and believe!
I got the feeling that Jay wore this guy out on this ride. He was sitting there panting while Jay looked like he was ready to drive to San Diego in that beautiful car. I get that... Keep motoring Jay !
I just love this car. The speedsters from the era are so wonderful.
I love the way Leno lets ordinary people come and talk about their projects. And also, I love the way Leno speaks with them with ample respect
Best channel. Thanks Jay, your fun to learn from.
I dunno how I've missed this one all these years. But I'm glad I finally found it. Awesome car.
Great recreation, a true labor of love!
Great video and Mr. Miscevich seems like a great person. Two thumbs up Jay!
Wow love these home builds!
What an interesting career Jerry has had.
Always get happy when I see a video from you!
Jay really nice,A real nice job by the owner. You presented it well and drove it nicely,Thank You !!
Did anybody notice those knee action shock absorbers ? My folks owned a 1937 Parkard Six, in the mid 1950's. Oh my what a beautiful and handsome ( at the same time ) that car was.
This Boat tail Speedster is just wonderful. What a great job Jerry has done !
When they roll to a stop, you can definitely hear that Isky cam ... LOVE IT!
Very cool car and of course a very cool guy. Thank you!
Wow!! Some great work on that car. It's beautiful !!
Great episode with a gorgeous car.
Very cool! Loving these budget builds Jay.
How cool is that. Thanks for sharing
What a beautiful work of art. Talented man.
Superb video Jay!
Thank you for the video
Wow! Beautifully done.
This guy is cool. He reminds me of the enthusiastic, mellow professor, that's got a good enough sense of humor to go toe to toe with the best of them without coming of like they're stealing the show. Total Harold Ramis vibe from Mr. Miscevich.
I'm very surprised Jay didn't jump on this one it's the most complete copy of the original car ever done and it would look so good in his Packard line up
Wow. What a beautiful machine.
