the explanation of "suddenly finding himself in the field of flowers could be a representation of him spending his life doing nothing but making music and naturally dying at the end of his dreaming" made me think of eve himself, how he creates so much music that it could seem that he made the song relating to himself in a way

I just noticed that the dots on the white haired persona's face are from the golden strands sewing his mouth shut in the dream world, making his face look like a creepy smile to the red haired persona, where it is really suppressing his voice (self imposed). The dots in the real world might be representative of self harm or just an artistic echoing of the white haired persona in the dream realm.

Honestly.. I always felt a special attachment to this song. And after hearing the explanation I know why. I've never really seen much meaning in life. But when I believe dying will be better I start to get scared. Not because I value life but because I value my dreams, especially daydreams. For me I always thought of the video as a modern representation of the Samsara cycle in Buddhist culture or something similar Side note I am halfway through the video and multitasking so I may have missed some points if you mentioned this. I’m enjoying the videos though and will come back to finish this
I've watched several of your videos n can only imagine the amount of time n effort u put in these vdos. Thank u so much for such a detailed explanation. I love eve's songs bcoz of how well written they are but I struggle to understand the meaning behind the lyrics most of the times. Your vdos really help in understanding these songs so thank you for all you've done.
What do you think him returning to the dream world and reuniting with the girl and the zingai represent? Is it perhaps that he has died? Maybe it's the author's hope that he reaches that place too at some point. Or is it that he has finally reached the place he longed for? That he has found reason with himself and can now live in the daydream with a different mindset? That he has now prepared himself to reach "the day" that he didn't get to experience before due to the drifting thoughts and inability to express himself so as to find comfort/confirmation for this life in the real world? Or is it perhaps a symbol of relief, gratefulness to the girl and the zingai for helping him all throughout? The video is so important, and highlights every little detail. I felt like every little feeling he was trying to communicate rushed onto me and I found that I felt very similarly. Thank you for this heartfelt insight into this inexplicably expressive masterpiece ❤️
My interpretation of this is that going into the dream world is the "dying part". Considering Zingais are a manifest of emotions (possibly both the giant and the girl) I would think that reuniting with them is getting his desire. Death in itself is idle and some believe in an after life with is like eternal dreaming. There is definitely parts of the author being expressed here. As he is writing lyrics for this song, so is the boy. Eve has worked for this dream job where he can sit down and write his feelings. You can notice a shift of thinking if you follow his other works. This one seems to be more peaceful in the end compared to his more depressive songs. There will be a time where the author's life ends. And this MV might be showing the author spending the rest of his life writing before eventually dying. The drifting thoughts and the girls guidance are all valid ideas and interesting ideas. ^^ You're welcome! I'm glad this video was able to reach you! ❤ ❤
@@EveExplained Yeah it definitely seemed like part of E ve's thought process was being expressed here! Desires can be complicated and difficult to express with words, thus making us frustrated. Lyrical and visual interpretations work best! Thank you again for your interesting interpretation. You'd make a great detective. ❤️
Thank you for this. I really appreciate your exegetical skills, you bring a lot of insight and notice a lot of little details that I completely missed on first (and second and third and twentieth) watching. In particular, the techniques you applied to As You Like It helped me understand Bamkuchen End a lot better. I really love Eve's work, a lot of his pieces speak to me very deeply, and you've helped me understand why. One thing I'd like to contribute from my own unique experience is that there's a genderqueer component to many of Eve's videos. In Yuseiboushi, it's somewhat understated, but also crystal clear, in that both one of the MC's 'fragments'/self-images is female (the dancing girl), as well as his Zingai. You can also see this aspect in Last Dance (male MC, female zingai, and there's also some 'overlap' between the MC and the dancing woman that makes me think they might be fragments of the same person); in We're Still Underground (the MCs are of fairly ambiguous gender, but are coded 'opposite', and seem to be reflections of one another); and in Raison (androgynous MC pursuing a dream represented by a much more femme ideal self). I'd add in his collaboration with Lanndo, which is gorgeously gay; for anyone who hasn't seen it, you can watch that here: ruclips.net/video/hPByWThUnk4/видео.html There's not a whole lot of genderqueer representation in media, and I might just be hungering for it, but to me, seeing these aspects reflected in Eve's artwork has been really fulfilling.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Eve works can be very moving~ That's a nice interpretation you have for the differing gender of zingais from the host. I can understand your hunger for something like this and there's definitely space for it in art. ^^
thanks for this one, i was looking forward to it ever since i found your channel. Your videos help me have a more in depth understanding of Eve's music. Love your content and thanks for it
Thanks for your explanation, its way more sound that what i came up whit. I though the LI;DAID was about hikikomori/neets whom live on whithout "really living" and subsist on fantasy and scapism to fill their existence, and the subsequent sadness that entails. Whit red hair being the one obsessing over diferent fantastical worlds(eve's other vids) whit the ruined city representing his disconect to society And white hair being another facet of the same concept, but someone(past self?) more represed in his desires to give in, but also more depressed/troubled because of it. the flowers being the fantasies they cant ever really achieve, only admire from afar. And the girl being someone/an ideal thet both aim for or are being taunted by, an artist, or someone who "can create fantasies" As for the big zihngay, i was at a loss, maybe he allowed WH to finally live his fantasy and RH was only remenbering(?) Him and despising(?) his actions? About your editing, you should leave a silent break, when talking about diferent points; at times i cant understand if what you are quoting or explaining refers to what you just said or what you will say right after. Think of it like listening to a teacher drone on about several heavy concepts one right after another, it can get confusing. Thanks again for your vids, they help me a ton to apreciate eve's wild rides.
yeah this song really has open ed, depends on viewer see. usually eve song tell us if always run of reality isn't a good thing, you either have good ed or bad ed because of it but in this song, you can choose for yourself, "Is it good to run from reality or not?"
It must be painful for the child with white hair, unable to speak his mind and filled with burdens he has to carry when he only wants to live his life idly and dying like he was dreaming. He makes music about the things he dreams about to relive from the stress. I can relate but instead of making music, I draw characters with a story to them.
For the longest time this was my least favorite E ve song cuz it just didn't make any sense. Very thankful this video exists, now I can enjoy this great song!!!
I want to contribute with my analysis and I also thank the person who made the video. In my opinion (I saw this meaning to the song) : (warning of a very long text that I hope is understood, the "" are to mention the lyrics of the song, the - are to join parts of the lyrics and the () which are the analysis) I clarify that I am using a translator(not very reliable :'( ) ° The boy as you can see is in an apocalyptic landscape and he remembers his "beloved" so to speak , who is possibly dead (that's why she only comes out in his memories and dreams)he says he knew her(past). ° is mentioned in the lyrics "trapped in the bottom of my dreams" (place where she appears - and alluding to the fact that this is his way to escape from his reality). ° "yuusei boushi" is mentioned - dreaming of death (which may affirm what I say). ° "preach to this useless brain sisters - I can do nothing but bow my head" (he realizes that he can do nothing but escape through his dreams and memories). ° the: "I cannot know love-if I cannot avoid my nature" (I suppose he means love for his surroundings , since he sees nothing but something dystopian incapable of love). ° "then let's promise to see each other again - I don't want to keep looking only at me". (referring to the fact that he misses her and therefore wants to be with her). ° "it seems that your eyes don't want to look at me" (may mean that only he is aware of what he sees, those *dreams* being a longing for him). ° "in the blink of an eye, I want to live an impossible dream" (still stands for my analysis , as a kind of confirmation by saying that it is an *impossible dream* ). ° "I understood that if a tyrant dyed me" (mmm..., this could talk about the history regarding his past , I guess he could refer to the fact that at his time he was someone bad *a tyrant and that's why his hair has that peculiar red color (and maybe he was forced to be bad (I think that because of what follows ...)) . ° "that smile would be worthless" *you can see that he is with his past self , and you can see that it is a kind of inner longing to want to talk to himself about the past by way of regret for what goes next *further on: "he really *wanted* to say that" ) . ° "unravel the sweet words.... - the scars on our hearts are still there - treading on our emotions - as we try to hide them and escape..... - no time to bite your lips - don't let me see how your tears fall - don't show me your weakness - I really wanted to say this " (ok.., from what I'm understanding , as I mentioned he was probably forced to be bad (could be to fit in that dystopia ) and that's why there is mention of hiding his emotions *they both and escaping (probably his love was not accepted(? ) ) ) ° I consider that there is a connection between: "unravel the sweet words.... - don't let me see how your tears fall - don't show me your weakness - I really wanted to say this" (the thing about untangling the sweet words , I think it is something he would want to tell her , to make her do her past self *something like telling her not to keep those words to herself and to express them ,and to speak them ; in this case what he is trying to say is that he feels bad for not having told the girl that before, the thing about : don't let me see how your tears fall - don't show me your weakness). ° "I will go to the story of the day I made a wish" here I imagine that by "the day I made a wish" he means the wish to change his past, and to be able to tell her those *pretty words). Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
thanks for the contribution! some of translation is different to the music video. I haven't thought about the girl as being a separate character before and that's a possibility. I really liked point 4, it fits really well. Although I struggle to understand the interpretation of ""I cannot know love-if I cannot avoid my nature" something might be missing for me to understand that. As I read it now all I see is his nature preventing him to know love (which is me basically rephrasing that line). "it seems that your eyes don't want to look at me" may need more context to understand what you mean but I feel the dream element would make a really nice interpretation. Red being a past self is an interesting theory but the character sheets says it's the version of him wandering in dreams rather than a past self. Although we both thought of him as suppressing the white haired boy. Some interesting points :)
Your second response sam. I managed to read your analysis. it seems all your messages got deleted so DM me on twitter or instagram. sorry for the inconvenience!
This in depth analysis was incredible, and clarified so much of the video! Though I was wondering is there a place that the concept art's of the characters is located, at 2:25 , 3:20 , and 3:50 ?
Whoa thank you so much for your work 😭😭💖 i was looking forward for this one, it's beautiful as i imagined, full of meanings and oh....Eve is just spectacular!! Thank you thank you!! I'd like to read that interview, where can i find it? \(ϋ)/♩
the content was really great!! it was much needed, you can go much beyond if you can somehow improve your voice and get a better mic or use some editing tools, there are a ton of Japanese MVs that are difficult to understand, so your work will be really appreciated!
Glad you can enjoy ^^ Do you mean voice as in the way I talk or the way it is processed? You can donate for a better microphone here: ko-fi.com/eveexplained Which editing tools are you referring to as are many types. Do you mean voice editing? If so which do you recommend/use?
Hai, I really like your interpretation. Your analytical ability is amazing 🧐🧐 When I first heard this song, I could the despair and some other negative feelings from the song, but I really couldn't understand the actual meaning, despite having watched the MV and reading the lyrics multiple times. It's too confusing 😣 I honestly love the beginning of the song and the MV, it really feels like entering a dream or a fantasy world. I do have a question, though. The part where you said, "he answered with the one that would stop him from 'biting his lips' ". "Biting his lips" means suppressing his feelings or not showing his feelings + "Stop him from" = double negative = positive ? = showing his feelings ?
@Eve Explained In the next sentence you said, "Which means to remove the desire to speak about his feelings instead of allowing himself to speak" "Remove the desire to speak" means expressing himself by writing in the album ?
these songs sometimes make me want to take a ticket to japan, find eve, and give him an hour long hug. i dont care if im getting arrested for sexual harassment or not like man
@@EveExplained yeah.... not sure why it's intimately relatable for me, but i struggle with a lot of things in life. Heck, i even write stories and fanfiction alongside daydreaming to live out fantasies. Though given i spilled my emotional guts in one of my works recently, i've also come to realize I envy things that fly. I mean... i've never really felt free in my situation. And in mythology, birds most of the time symbolize freedom. After all, it's hard to conform to a society that mostly doesn't care who you are as an individual... or at least that's how i mostly feel about the world. So... it feels more appealing to be isekai'd into a fantasy world to escape from the judgement and spurn of others. ... ack, sorry for the sentimental word vomit....
I think you haven't found a place to belong yet. I think you want to be in a nice place (isekaied) but for now in your creative works that has your emotions. I don't know exactly what your situation is but keep writing and trying to find a place with people who won't judge you! It might be hard and scary at first to get outside but one step at a time and someone will see you~ From your random youtuber making videos in their room with social anxiety.
I am not sure if you will respond since this is a video essay from a year ago, but I still hold a question that I think I either missed or wasn't explored. Do the marks on the Red haired MC's lips hold a meaning? For a while i thought they were fangs but one hour of watchin the same video later I realized they were actually marks. I'm not sure if they are just there for aesthetical purposes, or if they hold any sort of meaning either cultural or just lore wise, considering the white boy while awake, has the marks on his lips where the red boy sew them shut. Thank you so much for doing this, Eve is such an inspo for me. This video and the comments helped me realize that I migth have maladaptive daydreaming among my diagnosed neurodivergence and adhd, which might explain why this song brings me so much odd comfort and feelings. Your explanation was on point, the level of research is beyond! This is the fifth time I watch it but the first I felt like commenting. I hope you managed to get that new mic, haven't watched your newer videos to know, but I will!
I believe it was one if those points that didn't make it into the video as it didn't have a sensible place to put it. The marking are a reflection of water ripples. In the song at 1:30 a water drop falls making a ripple and then the markings on the red haired character grows bigger. When the markings are on his body, it means his actions has an effect on things/those around him, on his mouth means his words has an effect on things/those around him. You're welcome ^^ Glad you you enjoyed it enough to rewatch many times! I did eventually get a mic! Your ears will hear the better sound quality ^^
The Zingai dog traveling with the red haired boy looks the one that belonged to Yukito's brother in KnK, I don't know what that means if it means anything at all
I don't really see any mention of the boy's earrings? I feel like those hold some significance, especially the right one, which seems to have some sort of "eye" in it

I think you can use the original video as it is without mirror , just have to provide to original vdo link and copyrights disclaimer in the discription. Your explanation is amazing , is just odd to see it in everything reversed and hard to notice visuals too. Also you can use better thumbnail for more views and get a microphone maybe . this great info and your hard work deserve to present with much more quality.
Video gets claimed by bots when not mirrored. My channel has been manually reviewed. I don't fancy contacting RUclips for every video. Descriptions are good to credit but they don't legally do anything. Legally the music video is transformed and doesn't impact the music video in terms of number of listeners/watchers. Testing thumbnails. You can support me on kofi for a microphone.
What a moronic approach to art. Not everything is a puzzle box to solve in a fifteen minute video. There IS no "one explanation" of it, or Eve would have furnished us with one. This isn't even a particularly interesting or compelling interpretation of the themes and imagery of the video.
I fried my brain on this one. I appreciate it if you liked the video ;v;

Watching this in the middle of the night. I still totally understand. Yes. :') Why am I up
Go sleep XD
For me I always thought of the video as a modern representation of the Samsara cycle in Buddhist culture or something similar
Side note I am halfway through the video and multitasking so I may have missed some points if you mentioned this. I’m enjoying the videos though and will come back to finish this
Id have to look that up.
XD See you later
I've watched several of your videos n can only imagine the amount of time n effort u put in these vdos. Thank u so much for such a detailed explanation. I love eve's songs bcoz of how well written they are but I struggle to understand the meaning behind the lyrics most of the times. Your vdos really help in understanding these songs so thank you for all you've done.
They do take a lot of time~ but anything for people to get some meaning behind them.
You're welcome!!! ^^
You're welcome!
Holy shit this video is so good and so thoughtfully developed. Thank you.
Thanks you're welcome ^^
Great video! thank you!
You're welcome ^^
Eve works can be very moving~
That's a nice interpretation you have for the differing gender of zingais from the host. I can understand your hunger for something like this and there's definitely space for it in art. ^^
I loved this so much. Thank you!
Im glad! ^^
I’m speechless- wow this was amazing! Bravo 👏👏👏
Thanks~
thanks for this one, i was looking forward to it ever since i found your channel. Your videos help me have a more in depth understanding of Eve's music. Love your content and thanks for it
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out and I'm so happy that you were able to.
You're welcome!
Thanks for your explanation, its way more sound that what i came up whit.
I though the LI;DAID was about hikikomori/neets whom live on whithout "really living" and subsist on fantasy and scapism to fill their existence, and the subsequent sadness that entails.
Whit red hair being the one obsessing over diferent fantastical worlds(eve's other vids) whit the ruined city representing his disconect to society
And white hair being another facet of the same concept, but someone(past self?) more represed in his desires to give in, but also more depressed/troubled because of it.
the flowers being the fantasies they cant ever really achieve, only admire from afar.
And the girl being someone/an ideal thet both aim for or are being taunted by, an artist, or someone who "can create fantasies"
As for the big zihngay, i was at a loss, maybe he allowed WH to finally live his fantasy and RH was only remenbering(?) Him and despising(?) his actions?
About your editing, you should leave a silent break, when talking about diferent points; at times i cant understand if what you are quoting or explaining refers to what you just said or what you will say right after.
Think of it like listening to a teacher drone on about several heavy concepts one right after another, it can get confusing.
Thanks again for your vids, they help me a ton to apreciate eve's wild rides.
Thanks for the comment. That's a new perspective on the music video. I can see the parts you're referring to.
Thanks for the feedback!
Really beautiful explanation!
Thanks! ^^
Yuseiboushi is 👌
love this analysis! thanks for making. earned a sub
Thanks for all your hard work. I can't imagine how much brainpower this one took lol.
XD haha this was a challenge
the way you pronounce boi is so satisfying
Haha thanks ^^
After rewatching this video a few times, I think I'm starting to understand the meaning of this work.
It's a lot to think about XD
I'm glad you're getting your thoughts around it ^^
@@EveExplained It's definitely a lot. Thanks for your amazing work!
I do that
yeah this song really has open ed, depends on viewer see.
usually eve song tell us if always run of reality isn't a good thing, you either have good ed or bad ed because of it but in this song, you can choose for yourself, "Is it good to run from reality or not?"
Yeah, it's a personal choice if this type of life is good or bad for yourself or the character.
I don't know what I want to say because English is not my language. But I know that I need to say this word. Thank you so much.
You're welcome ^^
It must be painful for the child with white hair, unable to speak his mind and filled with burdens he has to carry when he only wants to live his life idly and dying like he was dreaming. He makes music about the things he dreams about to relive from the stress. I can relate but instead of making music, I draw characters with a story to them.
It's nice having a creative outlet
The title scares me but this should have been a anime
That'd be one expensive anime >
@@EveExplained true $1000
I say this video’s visuals fall under anime and I love that also love this analysis
❤
@@EveExplained hello again!
Hi ^^
@@EveExplained I hope you are doing great!
Thanks! Doing well ^^
'Eve's death note'
I will not die dreaming but I will die laughing
XD
For the longest time this was my least favorite E ve song cuz it just didn't make any sense. Very thankful this video exists, now I can enjoy this great song!!!
Glad you got some sense now! Enjoy the music ^^
I want to contribute with my analysis and I also thank the person who made the video.
In my opinion (I saw this meaning to the song) :
(warning of a very long text that I hope is understood, the "" are to mention the lyrics of the song, the - are to join parts of the lyrics and the () which are the analysis)
I clarify that I am using a translator(not very reliable :'( )
° The boy as you can see is in an apocalyptic landscape and he remembers his "beloved" so to speak , who is possibly dead (that's why she only comes out in his memories and dreams)he says he knew her(past).
- no time to bite your lips - don't let me see how your tears fall - don't show me your weakness - I really wanted to say this " (ok.., from what I'm understanding , as I mentioned he was probably forced to be bad (could be to fit in that dystopia ) and that's why there is mention of hiding his emotions *they both and escaping (probably his love was not accepted(? ) ) )
° I consider that there is a connection between: "unravel the sweet words....
° "I will go to the story of the day I made a wish" here I imagine that by "the day I made a wish" he means the wish to change his past, and to be able to tell her those *pretty words).

thanks for the contribution! some of translation is different to the music video.

This in depth analysis was incredible, and clarified so much of the video! Though I was wondering is there a place that the concept art's of the characters is located, at 2:25 , 3:20 , and 3:50 ?

Hi eve explained
Hello again Spooku!
I never know the mv was this deep💀💀
Welcome to eve mvs XD
the content was really great!! it was much needed, you can go much beyond if you can somehow improve your voice and get a better mic or use some editing tools, there are a ton of Japanese MVs that are difficult to understand, so your work will be really appreciated!
Glad you can enjoy ^^
Do you mean voice as in the way I talk or the way it is processed? You can donate for a better microphone here: ko-fi.com/eveexplained
Which editing tools are you referring to as are many types. Do you mean voice editing? If so which do you recommend/use?
Hai, I really like your interpretation. Your analytical ability is amazing 🧐🧐
When I first heard this song, I could the despair and some other negative feelings from the song, but I really couldn't understand the actual meaning, despite having watched the MV and reading the lyrics multiple times. It's too confusing 😣
I honestly love the beginning of the song and the MV, it really feels like entering a dream or a fantasy world.
I do have a question, though. The part where you said, "he answered with the one that would stop him from 'biting his lips' ".
"Biting his lips" means suppressing his feelings or not showing his feelings + "Stop him from" = double negative = positive ? = showing his feelings ?
Thank you!
Yes something that'll help show his feelings. Worded that way to use the lines as my points.
@Eve Explained In the next sentence you said, "Which means to remove the desire to speak about his feelings instead of allowing himself to speak"
"Remove the desire to speak" means expressing himself by writing in the album ?
Show his feelings in the medium of writing rather than speaking because writing creatively allows him to be inexplicit like talking with out talking.
@Eve Explained Ah, okayy, thank you for explaining !
these songs sometimes make me want to take a ticket to japan, find eve, and give him an hour long hug. i dont care if im getting arrested for sexual harassment or not like man
What did you enjoy about this song? ^^
@@EveExplained e v e r y t h i n g.
Sry if this is unrelated, but can anyone tell me the full version of the piano at the end credits of this mv?? It just sounds rly satisfying to my ear
This MV has waaaay too much lore lol
Ah..... the longer i watch the more i relate to the song...
Yeah it's a relatable song
It might be hard and scary at first to get outside but one step at a time and someone will see you~
From your random youtuber making videos in their room with social anxiety.

I just finished writing them. Will be up any time now. Sorry for the delays >.
You're welcome ^^
Glad you you enjoyed it enough to rewatch many times!
I did eventually get a mic! Your ears will hear the better sound quality ^^
The Zingai dog traveling with the red haired boy looks the one that belonged to Yukito's brother in KnK, I don't know what that means if it means anything at all
What's the soundtrack that starts at 9:47 ish???I really enjoyed it😍
Lost at sea in youtube audio library ^^
I don't really see any mention of the boy's earrings? I feel like those hold some significance, especially the right one, which seems to have some sort of "eye" in it
It's in the character sheets I added translation to.

It sounds cool!
2:23 can i know where you get the photo?
I tried to look back and I see a reference to Eve news on twitter. I hope that helps. Sorry I don't have the direct link ^^"

What a moronic approach to art. Not everything is a puzzle box to solve in a fifteen minute video. There IS no "one explanation" of it, or Eve would have furnished us with one. This isn't even a particularly interesting or compelling interpretation of the themes and imagery of the video.
