I did not think that there are many species of birds that we can see here. Now I know where to go bird watching when I come to Bangkok someday. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Nick, thank you so much for these amazing videos! Just coming from a few days in Bangkok and I really loved exploring the parks. I just wish I had found your channel before going 😄
Very interesting video Nick...(love the background sound from the temple...and also your comment about how the karma would be when those frogs and fishes are eaten by the Black-crowned Night Herons 😀)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I have always wondered how the people who caught the fish and frogs in the first place atone for the bad karma that they must have gained through those acts. It would be fun to make a similar vdo for somewhere in jakarta when I am there in September. Any suggestions where to go?
Really fantastic video; one of your best, great plot, so mezmerising....was that you dancing along the canal in the distance? ...wild and crazy guy....
Wonderful video!!!! I loved it, what a great tip for birding in the city - temples! What bird was calling in the background at 6:12, while watching the Asian Openbill?
This is excellent, thank you. I've got a month in Thailand on family matters coming up and was looking for spots to visit in Bangkok and Korat where I can do unguided birding - this is just perfect information.
Great video! Very informative. Will surely visit this place. Had been hearing the Plaintive Cuckoo since I came to Bangkok in 2008. No one could tell me what bird made that sound. Now I know!! 😊🙏
The location itself is nothing that special, I sort of used it as an example of what can be seen in any similar habitat in and around Bangkok. Glad to put you out of your misery regarding the cuckoo.
Hi thanks for the upload! I subscribed because i'm in the process of planning a trip to another Asian bird watching trip being the last one was 4 years ago in Vietnam. I've seen over 30 species just being around Ho Chi Minh city like Drongos, zebra pigeons, blue-throated and green bee-eaters, Tailorbirds, sunbirds, and my personal best....Burmese Shrike!
Love your pitta t shirt , we have a house near rangsit but live in uk unfortunately , seen 1 coppersmith our garden and i`m sure i saw a Asian paradise flycatcher fly above reeds in a field of tall reeds near home also further down the road klong4 university on the road leading up to the gates its tree lined with paddy fields on either side saw small minivet great video and subbeddd..
Enjoyed the video although that last clip of a single Golden Weaver is obviously not from that location. Not a lot of mountains visible from Wat Phuttabucha.
Very interesting ! I'm currently looking into travelling to Thailand. Birdwatching might be just the greatest past time :D Did all these birds turn up on the same day ? Do you go there very early ?
Very early is definitely key to birding in Thailand as it gets hot quickly, although most of this was between 7-10am. I did see all of these species in a single morning but it took several visits to video them.
Most of the footage of birds was shot in two visits to the area. I used a little bit of video from some other sites to increase the number of shots for some species.
Very nice. You obviously filmed it in winter. I think I should start filming birds instead of shooting still photos of them only. I think filming requires more patience and energy. You got to be there several times before you collected enough materials to edit and compile into one short video. Greetings from Eastern Bangkok
It really does require a lot of time, persistence and luck. Yes, usually several visits are needed to create a video like this. I find it useful to obtain short clips of common birds every time I see them, anywhere I see them so that little bits can be used in various videos as supplementary footage. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it. Thanks also for your thoughtful comment.

60 different birds, wow, another place to add to my wish list.. Ta.
An example of how high avian biodiversity is in Thailand. Most parks in the city have a similar set of birds.
Excellent video my dear friend! 👌😊👍3
Glad you enjoyed it.
Will definite go birdwatching soon. Thanks for the inspiration
That's great, If there is one thing I hope to do with this channel, it is inspiring people to enjoy birds and go bird watching.
I did not think that there are many species of birds that we can see here. Now I know where to go bird watching when I come to Bangkok someday. Thanks for sharing.
Just an example of how many species can be found in the city in some of the green patches - parks, gardens and suchlike.
Hi Nick, thank you so much for these amazing videos! Just coming from a few days in Bangkok and I really loved exploring the parks. I just wish I had found your channel before going 😄
Glad you had a good time and thanks for watching.
Very nice footage Nick! All the best. Joe
Thanks Joe, glad you enjoyed it.
What a beautiful video! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for that. Nice that you enjoyed it.
Great stuff Nick. I would like to go there.
Any of the Bangkok parks have a similar set of birds (apart from the Night Heron feeding area).
This is one of the best bird videos I have watched in recent times! Thank you for such a lovely and colorful video. Subscribed! 😊
That's a really nice thing to hear, thank you.

Great video and you solved a mystery for me. I used to hear a bird calling at night in Bangkok. It was the Plaintive Cuckoo you showed here. Thanks!
That Plaintive Cuckoo used to sit right outside my window and call all night somewhere I used to live!
I love birds
Me too, they are very inspiring.
Wonderful & detailed Video.
Thank you. It took a lot of work so your comment is very much appreciated.
Beautful video!
Thank you.
Great job, Nick. Hope we run into you in Thailand.
Thanks. Yes, when do you arrive in Thailand?
Beautiful!
Cheers
Thank you very very much to share a wonder & useful info lije this ...
You are most welcome
Really fantastic video; one of your best, great plot, so mezmerising....was that you dancing along the canal in the distance? ...wild and crazy guy....
Hahaha, you are the first person to have mentioned the dancing. I threw it in for a laugh. Thanks very much for the kind comments.

Thank you.
Wonderful video!!!! I loved it, what a great tip for birding in the city - temples!
What bird was calling in the background at 6:12, while watching the Asian Openbill?
Glad you enjoyed it. The call is Asian Koel.
This is excellent, thank you. I've got a month in Thailand on family matters coming up and was looking for spots to visit in Bangkok and Korat where I can do unguided birding - this is just perfect information.
This is a nice spot for sure but perhaps Suan Rot Fai or Benjakitti Forest Park are more accessible for you?
Great video! Very informative. Will surely visit this place. Had been hearing the Plaintive Cuckoo since I came to Bangkok in 2008. No one could tell me what bird made that sound. Now I know!! 😊🙏

Hi, glad you enjoyed it. Have you decided which country to visit yet? Thailand is always a good one but I enjoy visiting Vietnam too.
That’s quite a few species of birds you spotted at the temple. Beautiful birds. Great footage. 👍🏻
Thai temples are often a haven for birds but this one is particularly good. Thanks for the comments.

nice work Nick. This makes me miss Thailand a lot.
Thank you. Time for another visit?
@@BirdingwithNick I hope so. maybe in the summer I can get back to Chiang mai. It would be nice to see Doi inthanon again
Enjoyed the video although that last clip of a single Golden Weaver is obviously not from that location. Not a lot of mountains visible from Wat Phuttabucha.
Indeed. I had a hard drive with a lot of my footage on it fail so that was a replacement clip. Well spotted.
you are back??
great vid BTW..
Back indeed and heading out on a 2 week trip tomorrow. Cheers.
@@BirdingwithNick Glad you got it all sorted...
How lucky to see so many species, lovely video Nick
It's a good spot, I will visit again this week and see if there are any unusual passage migrants around. Glad you liked it.
@@BirdingwithNick Cheers! I just subscribed your channel to guarantee that I 'll not missed the later Wat Puttabucha 's birding spot clip for sure! 🙂

Thanks for watching.
Hi, great video, what's the best way to get there from Sukhimvit area? Is there a BTS stop nearby or else taxi?
Thanks.
No BTS in the area. You need to take a taxi.
Nick .....How many months did it take to photograph the birds that you have posted.....
Most of the footage of birds was shot in two visits to the area. I used a little bit of video from some other sites to increase the number of shots for some species.
