The "alpha man/woman" concept as most people use it is totally incorrect. The term is attributed to a study on the behaviors of wolves. In captivity, they display more aggressive or "dominant" behaviors to become the pack leader, however, the researchers later discovered that the behavior of the "alpha" in the wild was much different. In the wild, packs of wolves are formed by parents and their offspring. The male and female wolves *co-lead* their offspring (pack) and the wolves "following the leaders" are the *children*.
But when another set of wolves come around the males have to be dominant or they die and their pack is killed and the female wolves are forced Into sex. Dolphins also do this, that I know of. So basically what I'm saying is the female wolves can not compete with the "alpha males". They exist. No such thing as a "alpha female". There's a reason your parents tell yall to not make decisions while you are angry. Emotions take over its never good for her. Even female mma fighters try the alpha female thing around other females, but a alpha male walks in she will instantly go feminine especially if he is her type. My mom thought being a alpha was real until she got her ass beat all the time by a alpha male. I don't like this idea but hey, it's just evidence. I'd like to see a woman fight my mom though. She tough.🤣
@@msteaguer1908 As I understand it, the original researcher wrote a book based on the erroneous study and then later asked for that book to be discontinued because the information was wrong.

I noticed goodlooking well adjusted married black men who are married to black women and are HAPPY have this whole different vibe I honestly didn't even think they existed until I came here.im so hype about it though😆
A man asking his wife's opinion on certain things in regards to money or something like that that doesn't make him a beta male that just makes him a man that respects and values what his wife brings to the table. He realized that his wife is an asset not a hindrance to him.
I just love how y’all are such respectable black men, husbands, and fathers! Reminds me of my Dad and the black men I grew up around and in my family! 🙏🏾
Love the show! When I work with couples, we discuss not letting others categorize who you are within your relationship. Each person in the relationship must determine that for themselves.
Im loving the content! 1. Women still don't know that they need to listen to men in order to understand men...NOT WOMEN!! 2. My fiance and I tossed these trendy terms out long ago bc we decided to go with what works for our relationship instead 3. We're what we need to be for each other ...for the situation....which allows us to show up for each other and for the health of the relationship in the best way.
Yesss, I completely agree Tank "just because we're alpha, doesn't mean we butt heads & someone has to submit" ...your strength to take the lead in an area you're stronger in, does not take away from the strength of your partner. I struggled mentally with a guy telling me, that I was too strong, women are suppose to be softer & I 'acted like my dad because I was emotionally too "hard" .....basically, he said men are natural leaders & women are suppose to follow--men & women should never be 50/50 in a relationship... (dumbest shiii I ever heard)...like I told him, in theory that sounds good, but you have to understand the different leadership skills & capabilities in a person & I'm not going to cry just to make you feel stronger. Great episode guys...
I really dislike that "alpha male/female" is even a thing in culture. People took stuff coming from wolves and compared it to people. It was always weird to me. (I'm not complaining, Tank, so don't come for me lol) It has to be a better word! Y'all was talking good per usual!!
I love that yall talk about stuff without all the research and limiting definitions. It's more authentic. Yall opinions, yall podcast. This ain't supposed to be NPR.
I think Marcus is on point and I think there are some people though social media will make it seem like a lot, that Feel that have to be the “only winner” in the equation. They don’t want their woman making more money than them, own a home, etc instead of thinking that if one is winning both are winning and you want someone that have strengths where you may not. A great leader is someone who knows when to seek guidance from others.
Confidence is confidence I really believe it boils down to insecurities in both males and females. Generally speaking, most people are attracted to confidence. Strong men will work with, complement and compromise with a strong woman. He needs it just as much as she does. Tank you are correct, the young lady is just weeding our those that don't compliment her personality. #beentheredonethat . It took well into my late 30's before I found my complement.
Strong men all over RUclips would like to tell ya "that's cap". Men want peace, Not competing with woman. We love to compete with men, but not woman. If I wanted strong, I'd fuck dudes. Men want peace, beauty, and a mother figure with a clean past(virgins are the holy grail if they fit the other qualities). Who the fuck wants a strong woman?
Relationships are all about teamwork. You can't have a successful relationship where both parties are happy and it's one person who dominates the entire relationship. Those older couples who been together for 30-60 years, yes they been together for a long time, but I'm confident in saying that I bet majority of those couples, typically the wife decided to endure whatever for the sake of staying together, and would usually tell other younger women to be better and not settle.
I really love that you all give your unfiltered responses and don't try to change yourselves to fit into the topics. This is beginning to be one of my top 5 favorite podcasts. Good stuff fellas.
Fun discussion! I always enjoy the dynamic between you two. 🎉🎉 I have a topic that I'd love to see/hear discussed by you gentlemen and that is: The importance of teaching our future men a trade. Something to do with their hands be it a hobby/career. I have two sons, 16 & 11, and I've watched them grow enough to guide them into what they organically love. My eldest son LOVES yard work. He loves cutting the grass, and all the mechanics that come along with good lawn care. My baby boy loves taking EVERYTHING apart to see how it works and putting it back together again. Phones, clocks, my kitchen blender... 😅 Both different personalities, however, moldable abilities that could direct them into other professions if they so choose. Solid good hussle abilities. I know, as a woman, I have a deeper respect for handy men. Much love!! 🎉
Great concept. I too, think that that is something that has been lost with a lot of young men (and women): their fathers showing them how to build and fix things. To work with their hands and not be afraid of hard work. It can transfer into a good career.

I agree with Goolzby that those terms only matter outside of the household and in dealing with those other than your significant other. Yes boundaries and roles are set in place within the household to keep that thang going, and as you both stated, that's based on strengths, weaknesses, and most importantly COMMUNICATION. Other than that, while staying true to myself, I'm going to be who my partner needs me to be at home and I expect the same in return. Great topic and conversation Kings! 👏🏾 🙏🏽
RUclips suggested your page on my thread and I LOVE IT!!! ❤️❤️❤️ You guys have great chemistry together and I’m hooked. You guys have even helped my husband on some of your advice. Now he asking for us to watch it together. Great channel and keep doing what you guys are doing!
As an alpha women looking for a alpha man the relationships Tank/Angel and Goosby/Melanie are great examples of blacklove. I so relate to Angel about having to adjust to allowing a man be a man. I grew up with great Dad in two parent home. But I am 50 now and after doing it all on my own for so long, it’s hard for me to just let someone do it for me. My dad showed me how to fix things in the house and put things together. I am good at it too. But my married bestie has reminded me to just punk out and let my man do things. I have to make him feel needed. I would be married now if that light bulb had gone off long ago. Now I am better. I am ready to just let go and allow my help mate to be the man I want and need him to be.
This was another great episode and topic. A successful marriage requires the male to put the feelings of his wife above his own and it requires the wife to put her husband’s emotions above her own. If they are both doing that consistently, then all that other stuff will work it self out. Alpha vs. beta does not need to have any part of this conversation.
Super salient points @40:30. All this talk of being an alpha male boils down to posturing for other MALES!! Grown ayuss men are handling #ManShyt not focusing their energy on what the next man does or has to say. Another great episode, @Building With Greg and @Tanksley TV 💪🏿👏🏿✊🏿 #BuildingWithGoose #BlackDads #BlackMen #BlackHusbands #RealFathers #RealMenSpeak

That dude who called Tank a beta, would probably fan out if he saw you in person. Men and women who like to call out others as betas or simps are usually projecting.
I agree with everything you guys said. I'm and Alpha woman and I'm cool with my man being a man for me but with that being said I am what ever he needs me to be for him. It all about loving and respecting each other. You shouldn't have to change for anyone.
So happy to see LUTI in effect! Hey PLATES and Goooosby 💕👋🏾👋🏾 Great transparency on your marriages and how you as Alpha men can respect and be open to take advice from your spouse. Real me know they don't hold all the Power and there is no weakness (or that Simpish) in be self aware and Honest in all things in your relationship. Women deserve respect just like men, reciprocal. #PERIOD God bless you both ❣️💕✌🏾
I agree 100% with Greg that your Alpha shows when you interact with the same sex. Women try to out do each other all the time same with men. Be whatever your partner wants to be ESPECIALLY if it gets you the cheeks 🤣
True "alpha" men and women are intrigued by one another and play off of one another's strengths. I think where it can become tricky is in times of anger or annoyance to temper your words because most alpha people are naturally observant and have varying degrees of discernment so the ability to cut deeper than necessary is always present. As an alpha woman, it can be challenging to have relationships and friendships with beta ppl because like Tank, you be like, "oh they are not ready for this amount of rawness". Confidence, emotional intelligence and self awareness are traits of naturally alpha people.
The attitude is different now… the mindset that says “I don’t need a man” or as a man, “ I need a woman” hinders true relationship. Because the first sight of difficult the attitude is “I don’t need that person”
As far as Marcus being nervous about angel reaction:It’s simply because he didn’t want her to get the impression her thoughts and opinions didn’t matter. The dummy making the comment couldn’t fathom you actually are in love with your wife and you don’t want her to feel any type of way about you. Some people are idiots.
The aggressive handshake is hilarious, cause why you gotta make a full muscle & your chest gotta swell, just to shake hands bro....calm down!! 🤣"I will navigate these streets, to get them cheeks" hahahaha! Y'all are hilarious!! I feel like an alpha brings out the alpha in their partners...
Here's the issue: a women who gets a lot of growth opportunities is going to be more competent in most areas of life. Today's society has lessened the growth opportunities for men. Men who don't have a nature drive for growth and who have embraced society's gift of fewer expectations, cannot match competency level of some of today's women .
If a man does not like a woman to make more money then them why don’t they go harder, get a higher degree, get a certification, work harder to get a promotion? That has always been my question. If they feel like less than a man, isn’t that their fault for not having higher aspirations?
Everyone comes from different households so everyone's views is different. If you single its hard to say how a married person should keep their relationship together. Bill Wither's ""Keep on using me until you use me UP"" them old people married 50 years and the husband let the wife have her option and her say and everything is OK...JUST NO NAGGING
All of these archetypes does not apply to real human beings. Archetypes are for characters in stories. Most of the time the people in movies and books are not real people. So aus human came up with these archetypes to help us round out characters to tell the story that we want to tell. Real people are more complex than a few characteristics. And the ones that are not, or don't believe that they are, tend to fall on these archetypes to try to understand or show their personality.
The issue with this topic, as it's currently stated, is it doesn't account for women wearing these for themselves NOT men. In this episode they already tell women not to change for men, to be themselves for the right man, so why would they address what a women should or shouldn't wear?
Neither can men... if you research it you'll see the whole concept is a fallacy... I am literally just starting the podcast so I'm not sure if they will mention that fact in this production but just in case.. IJS
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me (Jesus). - John 14:6 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9 Then Peter said to them, “Repent (turn away from sins), and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:38 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; - 1 Peter 2:9 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ - Matthew 7:21-23 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9 If you want to accept Jesus as Your Lord and Savior, say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You, Jesus, died for my sins, are Lord, and God rose You from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my life. Jesus, I want to trust, accept, and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Great stuff!
It's insecurity but money is also a means of control. How can you control her if she makes more money than you?
Good episode
Such a great show. 😂😂😂
Liked and comment 😁
If a man does not like a woman to make more money then them why don’t they go harder, get a higher degree, get a certification, work harder to get a promotion? That has always been my question.
If they feel like less than a man, isn’t that their fault for not having higher aspirations?
Lastly, I think a strong Alpha woman can be submissive to the right man! I think you are trying to say you just want a confident woman ☺️
I wish someone could put when the actual topic starts😩😩😩
Love watching your videos! 🧡Alpha and beta concepts aren't real. 👎🏼
The bible does say we are to submit one to another too!
Look up alpha vs sigma male... some who think they are alpha are actually sigma (they are reasonable and with those insecurities)
Show Idea: Women wearing spanx and undergarments that make them look different than their natural bodies. Are men ok with it?
The issue with this topic, as it's currently stated, is it doesn't account for women wearing these for themselves NOT men. In this episode they already tell women not to change for men, to be themselves for the right man, so why would they address what a women should or shouldn't wear?
Neither can men... if you research it you'll see the whole concept is a fallacy...
I am literally just starting the podcast so I'm not sure if they will mention that fact in this production but just in case..

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ - Matthew 7:21-23

If you want to accept Jesus as Your Lord and Savior, say this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You, Jesus, died for my sins, are Lord, and God rose You from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my life. Jesus, I want to trust, accept, and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’s name, amen.
