There were reinvention of g.i. joe like g.i. joe extreme and g.i. joe renegades.
Renegades is high key underrated.
Personally, I think it boils down to execution. If paramount and Hasbro are going to go the right of the cinematic universe, I think it would be a good idea to make G.I. Joe, some thing similar to shield from the Marvel cinematic universe, or Monarch from Monsterverse. I think it’s possible for G.I. Joe to reinvent themselves. However, it needs to be done in such a way that it is believable. For me, I think the following the events of bumblebee, G.I. Joe formed out of what we originally saw a sector seven. To be fair, sector seven was not to spend it, but we organized into what is G.I. Joe, following some sort of incident that caused the reorganization. More than likely I think a rogue sector seven agent performed experiment on the Cybertron and Technology. It went wrong, and this agent went wrong, and later became cobra, Commander leading to the formation of Cobra, using some stones that are seven technology that was based on the remains of Dropkick and Shatter from Bumblebee.
I think you might also depends on what we get with the Energon Universe Hi Sky down in attainment and image comics later this year. Bear in mind, G.I. Joe was reboot it several times throughout the 50s and 70s before being canceled and then reboot it once again and ‘82. There is a possibility for the franchise to reboot itself, but it needs to make sense narratively.
This film peaked my interest in GI Joe again and their Classified series looks good. It all depends on what happens next.
Actually they were planning a gi joe TV series for paramount + but it was cancelled once snake eyes failed

I think GI Joe should be more like this universes NEST. They could appear in the transformers movies for a couple movies before they get their own movies. They should introduce a few Joe characters, mention others, allude to Cobra, and occasionally say an Autobot is assisting the Joes against Cobra every now and then. The biggest thing is to make it where it’s not obvious they are trying to make the Joes relevant. I think it would also be awesome to retcon John Cena’s character as Duke in the next couple movies and bring him back

While I liked the Rise of The Beast, you could really see the difficulty Optimus had without human cooperation on Earth. Having GI Joe be the human liaison to the Autobots/Maximals could work out very well. But we'll see. I'm remaining hopeful this all works out.
NEST is probably a part of GI JOE
Before this video even begins, the one time I imagine it working was in the comics of IDW. But other than that, I can't imagine how the hell they'll make it work in live action when so many people don't really care for the Joe's.
They could introduced IDW marissa if they want to further strengthen the connection.
(For those who don’t know, marissa faireborn is a well know human ally of the G1 transformers. In the IDW continuity it turned out she was the illegitimate child of Flint from GI Joe, whose real name is Dashiell R Faireborn)
Could work. They've shared universes since the 80's and they could make them into something fitting with Transformers. Just make them Sector 7 but with the GI Joe name.

I think Thundercracker joined G.I. Joe in those comics. The more I think on it, the more i think they should adapt that for live action. Maybe even have Thundercracker look like the studio series figure the made for him, but with one of the bee movie seekers' head...

What annoys me is that the GI Joe card was a last-minute thing not in the original script and now they're basing their next sequel around it, which indicates that they don't really have a plan for where this franchise is gonna go.
For this movie it may have been last-minute but Hasbro has been planning a shared universe for over a year.
You actually raise a fair point. Personally I think it’s a mixed bag, like it sounds cool on paper but then in reality feels too soon, especially since we don’t even know where Megatron is or what does he look like. It’s sad that even the main villain of Transformers hasn’t even been revealed

What sounds good on paper doesn’t always work when we apply it in real life. This is how the franchise would die.

Which franchise will die? The host of this channel said a crossover wouldn't affect Transformers negatively.
The main reason I hate the idea of a crossover is because I don’t want another transformers movie with the bloody military. ROTB finally gave us the autobots as the main characters. The final battle of every bay movie was just military vs decepticons with the occasional autobot. Gi joe would be that all over again. They’d have to make the decepticons bumbling idiots to give the joes a fighting chance. And don’t even get me started on the idea of megatron teaming up with cobra commander. Megatron would never stoop as low as allying himself with what he sees as an inferior race. I really enjoyed ROTB and want them to continue what that movie and bumblebee did. Small human casts, more robot screentime with an emphasis on character. As for the Joe side, how about they try making a good Gi joe movie that people will actually watch for once? They haven’t tried that yet
I'm sure someone out there could pull it off without nerfing the cons. You could have the Joes working behind the scenes like Noah and Alana did in ROTB during the final battle. Also, if I recall correctly, Thundercracker actually joined G.I. Joe after leaving the Decepticons in the IDW comics. You said you're not a fan of military vs 'Cons ft. the occasional 'Bot, how about military vs 'Cons ft. the more-than-occasional ex-'Con? With enough insider knowledge, the Joes won't need as much plot armor, right?
As for Megs, he's allied with, or rather used and manipulated humans before. He had Soundwave play both sides of the space race in DOTM and he was willing to hear out Silas's plan to use Project Damocles in TFP. However, the moment the human collaborators were deemed useless, Megatron had them discarded: various members of NASA and the Soviet Space Program had hits run on them by Lazerbeak and Silas was made into Knockout's lab rat. I see something like that happening here. Megatron gives Cobra a chance (or two (because plot needs to plot)) to prove their worth, and either they fail and are subsequently disposed of, or they DON'T fail and Megatron begrudgingly keeps them around until they stop being useful.
I know I'll probably get shit for this, but once shit gets political, we may need a more evened out ratio of human mains to Cybertronian mains The government isn't just gonna turn a blind eye to the big alien robot vehicles fighting a war on, especially not when said war comes to Earth. Speaking of wars, they're noisy and destructive. It's a miracle the masses haven't seen anything prior to Unicron's failed arrival. Everybody saw that one. When people aren't xenophobic, they're inquisitive. And when people get inquisitive, things WILL be found out, no matter how hard the government tries to hide it. As for how shit could get political (aside from what i just previously mentioned)... Eh, I'm sure some schemer like Starscream might find a way to get our politicians at each other's throats over which faction to support if any.
I realise I just wrote three whole ass paragraphs (four if you include this one, which if you do I would not be surprised), but I personally feel like it was worth it. Will I dump more? That depends on if have any and if I'm asked to dump them. :/
Edit:turns out it was Skywarp who reluctantly joined G.I. Joe because they promised to fix his teleportation ability which was broken at the time. Thundercracker did vibe with Melissa and become a screenwriter tho.
They worked with the Germans in ww2, but as Germany started losing the war the decepticons had hitler killed as they saw him as a loose end . This storyline was actually used in transformers the last knight .

You've pretty much described how I felt about it, it's not bad but it's just like. "Okay, now what?". It feels like they have no roadmap for this.

Technically, Hasbro could throw the Power Rangers in there too. They won’t, but that blows my mind that it’s not impossible.

In the movie, they describe the power rangers as fictional if I recall correctly. I think Noah's brother has a Power Ranger's shirt.
I believe that this could work. I feel they should be like N.E.S.T in the Baymovies. I believe that the characters could be a small cast. Just the main Joes like Duke Scarlet and Snake Eyes and then Cobra should have Cobra Commander Destro Storm Shadow. I believe that this should be standalone. It is connected to both franchises. And the viallians could be the cons and cobra
Who said Duke, Scarlet, and Snake Eyes are the main Joes? Also, the "evil forces of Cobra" aren't the only Joe-threats.
Honestly all your points make sense, GI Joe hasn't had much of an impact compared to Transformers in the last couple of years. My best guess is that GI Joe will be portrayed in a similar fashion as Sector 7 in Bumblebee, and it will include two characters from the franchise (IE Duke and Lady Jaye)
What makes you think Duke or Lady Jaye will be the first people in a Transformers crossover movie, and why would you root for those Joes?

I wouldn’t say previous transformers/GiJoe crossovers have been bad, but there’s just been more interesting ones done, like MASK, Action man, ROM, the visionaries, micronauts…
But personally if they want to do an expanded universe, they should make more character-based stories like bumblebee. Like, it’d be cool to see each autobot in this new team get their own story. Heck I’d love to a movie focused on only the maximals.
If they really have to bring in the joes tho, I’d be fine with just Mainframe and MP3, since they were the only 2 besides Scarlet that I found interesting when IDW had this whole merged universe thing going on.
I wholeheartedly agree. Space out the movies so we get something very emotional/coherent. Definitely need a movie focused only on the Maximals. They did Rhinox dirty.

@@thehidden6532 Ok so, I've been trying to remember. I did find her...identity issue? kinda interesting, being born cybertronian but raised among organics. The fact that she then becomes, like half wraith I think? so that REALLY makes the whole identity thing a more complex situation worth exploring. Unfortunately we don't really get to see that due to the rather rushed ending. So she just comes off as bitter to everyone and has no resolution, which bummed me out ngl. There was an good potential to explore what does it really mean to be a cybertronian with here
Her last second cameo in the 2019 continuity was just a salt in the wound since we could have re-explore her character again but well, we saw how that continuity went. And I'm not so sure if the skybound writers are going to tackle anything past the 80's continuity :/

I think if they Collab with gijoe like they did with sector 7 it could work. Maybe if they just have a few gijoe characters it could be interesting, but the Transformers should of course be in focus and unicron should be the main baddy

GI Joe didn't stick around with the newer iterations, but they've been the same world from the beginning.
To be fair they’ve done this before in the comics when havingTransformers crossover with Gi Joe. The problem with those comics is they were incredibly one sided with the TF getting easily defeated.

There are low key crossovers in the Classic Transformers third season through Marissa Fairborne, possibly being Flint's and Lady Jay's grown up daughter, and an episode that had a mercenary named Snake that turned out to be an older Cobra Commander at its end.
How do you feel about those characters you mentioned, and are you in favor of seeing those characters in live action movies?
Originally I thought that he was a member of sector 7 based on the description of the organization he was a part of but was surprised it was actually G.I. Joe whether or not a crossover happens or was just saying they exist
Were you completely fooled at the end of Transformers: Rise of the Beast until the business card was shown? Or, did you take "a hint" after the business card was shown when Agent Burke offered "free" healthcare? If I remembered correctly, Sector Seven used threats to get what they wanted.
Confirmed it's not full crossover wit G.I.JOE it's just like sector 7 in Transformers 2007 and Bumblebee.

A bit off-topic but.. if Steven Caple Jr. was inspired by the Japanese Cartoons as said in the video, then we have a slight chance we can have a live action Star Saber or a Star Saber inspired Transformer which would be cool to see!

Exactly they r doing this not to make this new Transformers Franchise even better than Bay-Formers but specifically to bring relevancy back to the Gi Joe's but no asked for this Crossovers and even Steven Caple Jr. wanted this to be all about the Cybertronian and Energon life form based Characters and not add more unneeded human intervention specifically least of all the Joe's 👎

It is indeed a horrible idea, it will be similar to the previous movies, except that this time we have less time for the transformers because it will have even more focus on the humans since they now are also titular characters, as if they didn't had enough in the other transformers movies, the exact opposite of what we've been asking. furthermore the Decepticons parts won't be the Decepticons alone but it will have shared time between the Decepticons and the Cobras so more humans on that part as well. Not to mention how most crossovers tend to end up being disastrous with only a few managing to do it successfully even when the concepts of both franchises are very similar let alone something so distinct like G.I. Joe and Transformers.
This is a disaster in the making and a terrible idea. I would way sooner prefer a sequel to The Last Knight than this.

I honestly just feel like G.I. Joe might end up being seen as just another N.E.S.T. group as a result of this being done. It seems that Hasbro is deadset on this, though, since they combined the two into a shared universe comic with their new publisher in 2023.
Hasbro have been trying to do a shared universe for years and it always falls apart (like their initial plans for Transformers Prime and Unit: E). The Venn diagram between people who like Transformers and Hasbro’s other properties (GI Joe, M.A.S.K., Jem, what have you) is way smaller than they want to believe.
Are you supporting a Jem and Transformers movie crossover?
As i said before, if they want a crossover they need to avoid making an entire movie out of said crossover and ignore the already existing Gi Joe movies, make an entirely different version of Gi Joe.
I can see them as just being a Nest type of group in the background, and Cobra Commander popping out a few times, but yeah the IP is asking to either make use of it or murder it already.

@@ComradeBobcat39 , wrong! Cobra(s) is not the main reason for G. I. Joe. I would recommend looking up G. I. Joe online from the 60s to 90s, for better understanding of Action Force.

As much as I liked Travis Knight, I believe that Steven Caple Jr. has a lot of potential. What would be better is both of them returning to the franchise even if they aren't directors.
I honestly don't want this I understand they crossed over plenty of times but they could've done this in the bayverse considering MB has a thing for the military. I'd rather they make another bayverse movie where they can have G.I joe plus i don't care about that universe any more although if that were to happen it will cripple the franchise.
Lastly It's way too early to start a crossover, the franchise is just starting to pick itself back up with bumblebee why add an element people that will turn people away, no one cares about the humans.
I'm hyped for the crossover by default because my dad had a huge influence of just about everything I'm interested in, whether it's good or not I'll be happy that it happened in live action. Also i think GI Joe could be well recieved today if they do something similar to Kingsman 1
Based on a wiki search, I don't think Paramount has the IP rights to "play" with the comic book story of Kingsman (since it is owned by Fox). However, I like how you think! Hasbro does have IP rights to a similar Kingsman comic book story called Action Man.
I will say on paper, yeah it doesn’t sound the best, but I do think we should keep an open mind and see the final product.

Lorenzo said in an interview that it won’t be a full on crossover as he still wants to focus more on the Maximals and stated that Duke or Snake Eyes will be the new human protagonists
The GI Joe easter egg creates one big question for me
What happened to S7 after Bumblebee
G.I.JOE should've been in the bay films in the first place. Lennox and Epps could have been Duke and Roadblock, have N.E.S.T as G.I.JOE, and in DOTM instead of just having Patrick Dempsey and whatever was going there, it's Cobra teaming up with the Decepticons. The military was already so heavily promoted in those films to begin with it makes less sense NOT to have the two franchises together there.
We honestly haven't even got a decent gi joe film yet

I think bringing in the Joe's was a compromise of getting a military presence without bringing back Sector 7. For people like me, my biggest fear was a forced connection to the Bay films (something that I was happy didn't happen). If we continue the trend of getting new human protagonists for each film, then I'm ok with the Joe name drop as an idea of where Noah's story goes as it's own thing. Or maybe nothing will happen and it'll just be a quick name drop like M.A.S.K. being referenced in Transformers Prime and nothing more comes from it.

I was a bit skeptical and concerened of what they will do with this crossover, but I really hope that they'll pull it off somehow.

Can you make a tier list of all the Optimus Prime designs ranked? (If you do, I already have a suggestion for three tier names! 1º is: “My name is Optimus Prime.” For the second lowest tier: “GIVE ME YOUR FACE!” And for the worst tier: “I’LL KILL YOU!!! STAY BACK!!!!”)
I never been a fan of the GI Joe vs Transformers crossover comics. Most of them are the perfect example of the writers having to nerf or dumb down the Transformers (power, intelligence, etc) in order to accommodate the humans. Regular humans with human military firepower mildly taking down Transformers is just silly and ruins the immersion for me.
I believe the only times humans should stand a chance against Cybertronians is somehow using their tech against them. It reminds me of all the senseless death on the Transformers’ side in those comics since it’s a much bigger ‘wow’ factor if a human kills a Transformer than the other way around
I was born in 2000. I and the people from my genetation don't care about G.I. Joe. I watched the first and the second movie and thought they were boring. I think making this crossover will only make things more confusing.
Good job on this video! I hope someday soon this channel will have a live chat show discussion on Hasbro. Why is everyone saying Cobra will be the Joe-threat for Hasbro's new Cinematic Universe? Cobra wasn't the only threat of Action Force both in comics and cartoons. Putting Joe-villains aside, it seems the host for this channel maybe hinting at what he really wants by "stealthy" mentioning Marvel. The Marvel name-drop makes me conclude that this host wants Stan Lee's characters in Transformers or Action Force to be like more like MCU's heroes. For me, the gi joe x transformers connection would be great if they introduce it lightly movie per movie.
Like we can get a named joe whos retired or so in a transformers film helping the autobots.
And in the gi joe movie, we can get a transformer secretly working for the joes none of the in universe characters were aware of.
Maybe something like wild bill being a freind of one of the human protagonists, or thundercracker as a joe like in the idw comics.
I don't understand the purpose behind your plot. Why have a secret Joe-Transfomers ally? Why select someone young like Wild-Bill for the human protagonist Transformers friend? Why can't you select someone more interesting than Joe Wild-Bill for a Transformers friend, since you seem "well versed" in IDW comics?

I think the biggest set back for this would just be the tone and implications, of like we'll why didn't so and so help them here and here, marvel ran into this issue but they slowed it pretty quickly, I think if they use the Joe's in place of sector 7 it could really work, and then when the transformers go back to cybertron (we know they will) they can do a solo joe movie, that's the ONLY way I can something like this working, other than that the tones are just very dissimilar and the art styles and stuff don't really blend well with each other

I think it can be pulled off. Think about it, it’s like the first transformers movie how the military sided with the Autobots to fight the Deceptacons only that this time it’s no ordinary soldiers, it GIjoe baby!
I don't have any investment in G.I. Joe but if Transformers movies need human characters you might as well make one of them Snake Eyes.
As someone whose only knowledge of GI Joe is from the IDW crossover, TBH, I'm interested in seeing what they do! I think GI Joe really doesn't work as its own thing anymore. If I'm honest, most Transformers movies just have rather boring military soldiers that are forgettable. Now if these military soldiers are instead recognizable characters, with GI Joe now combating Decepticons and maybe human terrorists who are using Cybertronian technology, I think that could work. I think GI Joe should honestly just be consumed into TF and not be its own thing anymore. It just doesn't work on its own.

I loved Rise Of The Beasts and I do like the GI Joe franchise (separate from Transformers) but trying to put them together seems too messy for me. They have Transformers, which is a still relevant franchise that many people love and makes a lot of money, but they feel the need to constantly cram them together because reasons. I just hope this is just breadcrumbs or isn't that big of deal, or gets straight up cancelled due to no hype lol. Idk but doing this concept isn't the best thing for this franchise especially since ROTB did such a great job putting some good will back into the franchise.

GI Joe does have relevancy. The toyline is extremely popular and the GI Joe Haslabs basically get funded overnight. We were lucky that Unicron got funded at all.
I respect opinions of others. But the scene does NOT say it will happen. And only thing, it could be closest to Crossover could be Noah only and no Transformers. Noah even immediatly said "No". And he respected that.
I've been saying for ages (since the first Bay Transformers movie) that Transformers needs less humans. From that point of view, I'd be very disappointed if there was a movie that added GI Joe, because it would *increase* the number of humans.
However, since it's apparent that we are doomed to have humans in our Transformers films, then surely there is an obvious way to have those humans be GI Joe. I guess the issue is that having too many characters, let alone introducing a bunch of new characters, is problematic from a storytelling point of view (regardless of whether those characters are human or not) and tends to lead to a bloated movie (or underdeveloped characters). But, also, the previous attempts to boot a GI Joe franchise indicates the appetite isn't there.
i think they should just have a gi joe movie with noah and mirage rather than a transformers film with the joes, transformers fans want transformers films with less humans and gi joe fans want more recognition so bringing transformers films to that would really help and if it goes well it could come into real transformers films (i haven’t finished the video so this comment might be irrelevant sorry)

I was kinda psyched, but that's mainly due to growing up reading GI Joe as a back-up strip in the Marvel UK Transformers comic, not to mention the crossovers.
Also, Marissa Faireborn from the original G1 series is the daughter of Flint and Lady Jaye, so there's that connection, too, along with Old Snake.
It could potentially work out but like it or not GI Joe is a dead franchise so the best way to introduce them would be for them to be the new version of NEST and have whatever villains the joes deal with be motivated by or inspired an encounter with cybertronains like a movie version of MECH but anything else is just too big a risk and casual fans will be upset why random army guy are they taking so much screen time, if they paid to see transformers. If a following comes, make a new tv show

The snake eyes movie tanked because they distorted the lore and Snake Eyes wasnt snake eyes until the last scene of the movie.
Honestly, theyve always had human characters. If theyre going to be there, they might as well be snake eyes and heavy duty.

I think your problem with GI Joe relies on you just knowing the movies ( which all were disasters )
Try the IDW GI Joe comics, the GI Joe x Transformers Collabs ( recently they announced Soundwave as part of that wave ) or even the original animation productions done with the IP ( which I am amazed the Joes has been animated by a fair bit of the greatest anime studios in Japan in some way or another )

Me, as someone who isn't in the franchise, it does feel like a great opportunity to do them justice and reinvent them as Hasbro already done with the Movies ( when it comes to toys, animated shows, and comics, they have always been there )
With the Joes, we got the mess of the first 2 and the barely known Snake Eyes movie ( because lets be honest, it wasn't advertized well )
Honest, if it wasn't for Bay, the military guys from his movies could as well all been G.I Joes themselves, I like to think of them that way and we got cartoony military guys being awesome without being a propaganda for the US Military ( because most of their participation, was due to Bay being able to use Military vehicles in the movie )
Idk why people are divided, we either go with the guys that are G.I Joe called Secto 7, or with the G.I Joes themselves
At the end of the day, the concept is they are an organization that use every kind of high tech gadgets and vehicles, specially the latter
From a general audience perspective, this is my reason for not liking the cross-over:
1) This new reboot universe is still new, we are still discovering the characters, their world, the conflict, the lore. We barely know any of that and a cross over at this stake is way to soon. Besides, I want to watch Transformers and mostly them, putting the Joes in may make the Bots’ appearance less and I don't want that.
2) The Joes doesn't have good representation in general media, the last 3 movies (especially the third one) weren't well-received, so naturally viewers hesitate when there are movies related to them.
3) Human elements. One of the many criticism Transformers movie have is humans, don't get me wrong there are good people but there are also lots of terrible one in this franchise, RotB suffer from this as well as Noah and his brother are very annoying in my opinion, so I afraid that the Joes may be written as annoying and take the screen time that should have been for the Bots.
In conclusion, the crossover isn't necessarily a bad thing, just that I think the Joes should have good movies first then we can talk about cross-over later. The reason Endgame and Infinity War were so successful is because the characters in them have multiple well-received movies beforehand, this universe is still new, and we want the Transformers and their conflict, their factions, their histories, the movies about them should be well-established first

but this is a sequel to Bumblebee, and as so, I am also with the impresion that they are rebooting the Joes as well with this new reboot from Transformers ( because who would want to rescue the Bayformers and the Michael Bay take on the Joes into the new movies? )
@@xXSoulGeoXx Reboot or not, the general impression of LA GIJoe isn't great, the Snake Eye movie was supposed to be the reboot of the franchise and it wasn't well-received. As I mention above, the concerns are that the human (the Joe) may be poorly written and/or take most of the screen time of the movie where what we are interested in are the Transformers and their lore.

@@ShellshockDM187 BB and ROTB are exactly that G1 style films lmao. They'll give us more characters but they still have to rebuild and slowly incorporate them. Introducing Dinobots and Megatron too early will have the same effect it had on them in the Bay films they get weaker and are discarded for other characters.
Also the whole stop bringing humans is so dumb. Why get rid of a literal key aspect of Transformers that's been in every Show and film since G1? We're already getting a Cybertron film and making a massive Live action Cybertron movie will be very expensive
@@Carpediem357 I don't think you understood my comment entirely. I just said the Bayfilms were not G1 styled, NOT the Bumblebee movie. Bumblebee movie which was great and yes I enjoyed ROTB, BUT it wasn't all that g1 examples Wheeljack and scourge, didn't look exactly as they're suppose to be, and some elements of Optimus like the grey hands and face mouth were bayish. Now the human characters, I didn't mention that they needed to be removed because yes you're right they played a key roles in the cartoons for a very long time, but they had less screen time than the Transformers which is something the movies should have done in the first place. I was hoping ROTB would do that, but just ended up doing the same thing as Michael Bays Films.

I'm honestly giving the G.I. Joe crossover with Transformers a chance as long as they balance the screen time with G.I. Joe and the Transformers and don't kill off Transformers characters then I will be okay with it.
