This is a BIG moment for transformer fans. Especially if you wanted a comic. IDWS run of transformers lasted almost 20 years I think and a lot of the volumes aren't in print so it's very hard to get into that story, even with digital. So now is your chance to be in the loop with this new story
As a Transformers fan, I cringed seeing that G.I. Joe and Transformers are crossing over.

ngl, the new characters, new alien races, their brief backstory and history got me hooked up. From the concept of it, they're like humanoids with Cybertronian-level tech, plus they are of the same species but different cultures instead of factions similar to that of Autobots and Decepticons, they also have a similar prophecy/ultimate goal to that of Cybertronian "Till All are One" prophecy to fight against Unicron, for them it's Goliant.
Hope Robert Kirkman and the writing team keeps this going.
Besides both of them being owned by Hasbro, Are the Transformers and the G.I-Joe really capable of existing in the same universe?
They had some official comic crossovers... mostly badly written.

The comic art looks really terrific. To be truly honest the storytelling is a little lackluster to me so far but the basic ideas are intriguing. I enjoy shared universe stories often. So I would be willing to check this series out. I definitely do like Jetfire, so I’m glad he’s there. I hope that there’s more good reports on this series!

HELLO.From what I see according to the illustration of these first Transformers comics they are GREAT because they return to the illustrative handmade style, and they look quite good. What I would like is for them to do another Wreckers saga where they rescue Minerva who had been kidnapped by Breakdown in the Treads & Circuits(IDW) saga and also for the Autobots to rescue Defensor from captivity at the hands of Megatron after their battle in the FATE OF CYBERTRON saga. In any case, I don't know if this new Universe has a connection with the previous one, but it must be Exceptional!!!
When, I saw the GI Joe scene in Rise of the Beasts, I rolled my eyes. Not because I hate the Joe's, I have absolutely no attachment to it like I do Transformers, but because this scene felt like Paramount is trying to go back to the days of Michael Bay where the robots are tertiary characters at best, with like 5% of screen time and development, while the overpowered human military is given the center stage, and the decepticons are all mindless canon fodder for the humans to blow up, even the big ones like Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave. Those are days I absolutely do *NOT* want to return to. I want the Transformers and the Transformers only in the spotlight on to get the development. If Paramount want to try another GI Joe film, that's fine, but it should prove that it can stand on it's own two legs, instead of needed to leech off the Transformers success.

There was a GI JOE/ Transformers comic crossover back in the 80s.
So far this has my attention. Jet fire looked very similar to the original jet fire. I'm not a big fan of the way the transformers look in the movies so I'm looking forward to this comic run

Maybe because the franchise is called TRANSFORMERS? Not that surprising that the race the brand is named after is the main focus. Not to mention transformers has plenty of other races like the quintessons, atalins, space knights, and like the video mentioned-Skuxxoids and countless other sub factions of transformers that appear as different races yet of the same species.
Well it was introduced back in the 80s there was a crossover episode that featured cobra commander in transformers

It's been way too long since the Transformers and GI Joe shared a universe and this time with the way these shared universes operate it's going to be a tight continuity between both properties. As long as the writing is good and stays true to the characters than i'm all for it.

Well this Gi Joe/ Transformers crossover will likely not hit the big screen anytime soon as the latest film did not do well. Will be interesting for comic readers to see where it goes.
I saw colored panels on their twitter page - I like the G1 Sunbow art stylee - but upon some of their statements and seeing some action in the panels, I am a little apprehensive of ultra violence & (organics) gore in this intertwined Transformers / GI Joe universe. Really wonder if Hasbro is OK with that.

I won't get my hopes up! So far, both G.I. Joe and Transformers movies have been nothing like the cartoons that made them so popular!
I rather like the two new characters. It wouldn't surprise me that they are of the same ancestral lineage. It could be one is the colony of the other. The big thing is which versions of the Transformers will there be considering how many different variations there are over the years. I am surprised that Jetfire didn't take them along in appreciation of being woken up unless he was concerned about the Great War that could be going on.
