I don't know anything about knives but man this level of craftsmanship is extremely satisfying to watch. Incredible job man.
I was gonna ask if this was a repost, then I saw your pinned comment and the extra stuff at the end.
Great video.
SUPER VIDEO!!! I use the Edge Pro matrix diamond stones on my Hapstone R1. They are exceptional! I also use sharpening tapes and/or ultra fine ceramic stones for final finishes, which provide a true mirror finish. AND, a final stropping with a 1 micron honing paste completes the process. I recently touched up my wife’s kitchen knives. Earned myself a kiss on the cheek…. Still a thrill after 55 years together…. Lastly, my go-to bench stones for plane blades and chisels are my Shapton Glass Stones, which I’ve been using for way more than a decade…
As a person who just loves to cook these videos makes me very happy. My knives are definitely not as good as these, but I've never got this kind of dressed down and no bull*bleep* kind of step by step how to sharpen your own knife. Thanks for that!
Truly an art. Also very important to have a solid working setup too where the stone and knife are staying still as you go through the sharpening process. Thank you for the lesson again.
Wonderful Save On These Kyle, Outstanding Job Buddy Many Thanks ! ATB T God Bless
First Class Work Kyle
Thanks you for taking time to make the Videos
That is some very nice work. Your customer should be very pleased.
The original videos of restoring these knives brought me to your channel. I don’t even know about knives. 😂 You should totally take on more knives that have been ruined by other sharpeners. It’s so satisfying to see you restore them.
Re-upload? Think I saw this like a month ago...
Those knives looked like something a pirate would have. Great job on the restoration, Kyle. Very Nice!
Beautiful work, well filmed and narrated
Nice work Kyle! You gave those knives a new life. Good to see they weren’t just disposed of. Be well my friend.
Mr Noseworthy. I certainly appreciate the content you provide! I often find myself returning to past videos. (Mostly knife work) I respect that you detail the entire operation of each project, and take ownership of each step, which in different cultures constitute their own individual trade. Thanks for your contribution to my education.
Really nice work, Kyle.
Enjoyed watching...
When you first started. I thought how bad can it be. Wow. What a mess. Nice fix.
Just an awesome restoration !!! You have gone next level yet again. Just beautiful blades !!!
Really excellent work Kyle. Thanks for the video.
Craziest deja vu watching you restore these knives again, but what beautiful results 👍👍👍👍
The state which they arrived at you in, as you said: heartbreaking to see 💔💔💔💔
Silly question, but those handles when they arrived, where they sticky to the touch? I'm not sure of the correct terms, but rather than the wood being 'treated' with an oil and then buffed, they looked like they'd been brush-painted with some kind of epoxy or resin, and looked like they would have had a slightly gummy/tacky finish... 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Might the person who previously worked on them, have applied it to make the handles less slippery during kitchen use? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Just the thought of touching them, and then feeling my skin sticking to them... makes my skin crawl just to think of it 🥴🥴🥴🥴
Amazing work as always, brother, it's always a pleasure watching you work 👍👍👍👍
As always great effort & presentation. We always learn new things when watching you work your magic. Greetings from Australia.
That paper cut test was almost silent. Nice work!
Great work Kyle!
I bought my wife a couple Wustoff kitchen knives and they are really nice. What was done to those is just awful. Nice to see you could bring them back to the living. The work you did was beautiful. Well done!
Good job 👍
Great job on the knives, Kyle! Such a wonderful video, as well. I definitely learned a few handy tips! Thanks for sharing, my brother! God bless! 😎👍🏻🔨🔥🔪
Beautiful result! Thought the knives were destroyed - what a mess. Please remind the client not to put them in the dishwasher, as the knives no longer have plastic handles. Wouldn't want to harm that gorgeous maple.
Nice to see the full video. I think I saw you do some of the restorations here on the channel a few months back?
My God. That is brutal. Important to vet those who you Intrust your “tools” and keepsakes to. You seem like a great guy Kyle. You should be proud, your doing great work. Thanks for doing what you do.
You took a garage sale knife and brought it back to life!
Awesome job Kyle
The handles look like a kid’s drawing of handles that someone recreated faithfully 😂
Wow, calling that guy a professional is like calling a "lady of the night" a nun. Zero effort or talent or both. I'd be mega pissed if someone ruined my knives like that.
I made a better handle with a file and some sandpaper for a knife blank I bought and I have no clue about building knives and handles.
Luckily they did not ruin them too much so you can save these poor knives. Great work Kyle!
Thanks Kyle. The saver of forlorn Wusthofs.
Love my edgepro(first seen on your channel btw)best investment I've made as far as blade maintenance is concerned.
the video is awesome, the workmanship is amazing, the shilling for edge pro system is not great
Very nice. Don’t mind the traditional style
Kyle is too nice to put on blast the ‘knife maker’ who did this crap. Would be nice to know who NOT to hire for knife restoration 😂
Well, we just need to know who can do the job, and no question, it is Kyle. What a craftsman!
That was a diy attempt gone wrong. The owner just didn’t want to admit to it. I’d almost bet money on it.
Well done Kyle 👍
That's a re-upload, right? Couldn't forget how the unnamed "maker" screwed these puppies up. XD
Are these the same knives we've seen restored already? Or are there hoardes of knife professionals out there screwing up up people's knives?
OK, I've definitely seen these before. I don't remember them looking as good as that after they were done though. Fantastic restoration job.
Damn fine work.
Wild, the handles on these look identical to a knife you restored a few months ago, wonder if the 'restorer' was the same.
I think this is a re upload...
Nice Job Sir
Good job.
You pulled the customer's butt out of the fire, NICE WORK!
Awesome
One fine job ....
Great work!
Those scales made me shudder, I couldnt put my name on somthing like that. Great restoration job Kyle the curly maple was a great choce. I put curly maple on a knife I made for my dad and it just pops.
Yup. My x-fiancé Dad was a butcher. I axed him if he would sharpen my best Shrade Hunting Knife. He did, and transformed it into a sort-of butcher-knife. My heart sunk when he showed it to me. Never married her, thankfully.
Ouch!! I'm not sure that alone warranted ending the relationship though! 😆
I honestly hope the owner of this knife set sends his old “maker” your video here. Wow your craftsmanship truly shows, what a transformation!
Did this happen again or was this a reupload
Re-master for television!
@@kyle_noseworthy is it going to be on CTV? That's the only Canadian channel we get here in NY
you know what would have brought the whole collection together would have to add the red mircarta to each handle.
Actually thanks Kyle i will be getting those stones you suggested in this vid I will get them from Paul's finest
Beautiful work! I've learned alot about knife work from you! Thank you for what you do!! I'm interested in your pocket knife with the interchangeable razor blade. Does it lock in multiple positions? And what brand & model is it and where can I get one? Thanks!!!
Can you use that tool for doing the edge of decorating scissors?
Great video Kyle as always 👍
Got a question for you if you could choose only 3 of the stones you have which 3 would it be and why? I'm looking to buy some and I value your opinion this will be my better starter set I have some cheap stones looking to upgrade.keep the vids coming man 👍
I've never restored knife handles but , i got one i'd like to get done with new scales and some chimping put on the spine . I could invest in the tools and practice on a junk knife but it might be easier and to pay someone .
Crazy how a hobbiest cares more about these knives than a professional company.... Hope the owners got every penny back.
Hi, what kind of maple are the handles made of?
Hay Kyle, what do you think about diamond stones?
Didn't I watch this video last year? Maybe even two years ago?
Is this a reupload? I could swear I've seen this before!
Hey, Kyle. Were these carbon, or stainless?
In an earlier comment here I said you were a craftsman. Wrong term, you have evolved to the point of being an artisan.
This is an old video. Why was this resposted?
That's what I'm talking about
This is a old video right?
Is this a reupload?
People must get pretty attached to their knives. I'd have just bought a new one if I was the owner. I mean...
😬😬😬😬 Kyle wow the moment you unlocked the first knife my heart twisted 🥨. Kyle looking at the work on the wooden handle of those knives, it looks very similar to s knife you fixed for a client that a so called professional fixed but ended ruining, do you remember it? It was last year. This must be the same person who ruined the the first knife you fixed.
Kyle the finish you did on those knives and the wood and the steel looks just beautiful ‼️ man great work Kyle. Kyle i have a good tune for you to sing for those knives 😆😆😆
🎶 Don't break my knife....🎵 🎵 Say you'll fix it again...🎶
