I was driving for a team on a test day to prepare for next years season and after one of the BEST sessions of my life coming into the pits I straight up drove into a wooden wall and bent my axle so bad it would make the kart bunny hop when I rolled 😂
Edit: Also my favorite karting story would be actually my first time karting, it was a gift for my best friend whom I’ve been watching F1 for the past 3 years maybe? Had the fun of our lives, skidding all over the place cause it just rained. I bet he’ll never forget this birthday gift haha I think size S would fit me well and red color looks cool enough if I’d win that, been racing for a while and I could really use a pair of gloves. Thanks for the giveaway and keep up the work! 💪🏻
i was racing in rental karts one time and i was going full speed down the straight when i felt my kart suddenly start slowing. all of a sudden about a few seconds later i saw my rear left wheel overtake me and bounce down the track. they had to stop everyone else and let me get in to another kart. they let me take the broken rear axle home as well like a souvenir so i guess i got a bonus out of it 😃🤣
Haha. Having a wheel overtake you is never the greatest feeling! 😂 however, them giving you the broken axle seems like they got rid of the rubbish for free 😂
Hey Sam, my favourite karting story is quite unique to me I hope that’s ok. It was back in 2009, when my dad won a premier sprints round at clay pigeon and we have it recorded on a dvd. I used to copy his celebration when I was little when he crossed the line as he come from 7th on the grid to win after a race long battle with Brenton Miller. As if by sheer coincidence, my first ever club 100 race win come in 2022, in the Junior lightweight B final, at clay pigeon, and all I could remember was watching the dvd and watching my dad win, and then I was winning also. Quite cringe you might say but it’s one of my favourite memories😂.
When an 8-year old me started racing at Teamsport Eastleigh ('Go Karting For Fun' back then) you had to get a 'licence' to be allowed in the faster cadet kart races. In the practice session I was trying to set a sub-28s lap to 'pass' the test, going for an overtake I was squeezed against the barrier. Somehow the squeeze made my little kart jump, up in the air and flipping forward, me and the kart upside down on the one in front, with my kart half pinning me to the kart in front and half resting on my helmet. I think everyone watching was a little frightened about the trapped little boy. They dashed over and hauled the the kart off me and my helmet. Fortunately I had hurt my ankle and back but fortunately nothing worse, I limped back to race control to move onto the multiple choice quiz portion of the licence ('what does a yellow light mean?' 'which pedal is the brake?' etc ) and they informed me that fortunately I DID set a sub 28 seconds lap, I had bravely remembered the difficult answers to the test, and I was cleared to race in the cadets from then on!
my fav so far is WHEN YOU BINNED BY FRESHLY REBUILT KART INTO THE TYRES AT FULBECK ON OUT LAP at pre season testing.... the irony the coach....

I highly recommend TK products. They have consistently maintained a beautiful balance between quality and affordability.

Wow! Couldn’t imagine rolling a Rental Kart! Good job on the sub28 lap and now in the dizzying heights of club100 🫠
