in between January and June 2024 ]
I started this project on last January 2024 firstly driven by the fact that until this day there's no
in existence (at least until I know) a 5.1 surround/multichannel version for this show, not even
from the official source, since their last 2019 restored release (from The Later Years Box Set)
came with only a 2.0 stereo soundtrack.
So I decided to make my own IMPROVED, REMIXED & 5.1 REMASTERED version for this, and
also taking the chance to celebrate its 35th anniversary.
As all my other publishings since December 2022, this one includes an extensive process of about
360 hours of video processing to improve the overall original quality, a complete remix second
by second from the show and, as said before, a fully rebuilt into 5.1 surround sound architecture.
Among video, audio and graphic design this took me around six months of endless processes
and sound testings, not to mention the adaptation for RUclips standards which always
represents an additional challenge.
The criteria for the 5.1 remix is completely personal and I don't follow a unique standard;
I change it depending on what that footage/song/show/situation claims based on my own feel.
Why do I remix the footages? As said before I design my own 5.1 concepts based in certain
details and taste, and to rebuild the thing into a surround environment you need to separate the
elements to relocate them accordingly to your ideas, that said, for me the remix thing is a must
in these matters to achieve a decent end result.
Unfortunately here (in RUclips) you are experiencing just half of the audio rework I made due
to RUclips's own limitations, but I am considering, in a future, to share a direct link to download
the soundtrack separately so you could remux it by your end and get the real 100% of it.
For this version I decided to keep official format with all it's cuts to preserve the overall
video-audio quality achieved here, otherwise the mix with the missing segments would impact
in the actual mix. I'll be publishing the uncut versions standalone in the future.

🔺Usual recommendations:

each remaster based on an "air monitoring"; I mean, using the sound through air just like
live sound normally unfolds, and even though headphones will work, the experience will
always be better over a speaker based system. The better the speaker system the better
the experience; forget about smartvs and cellphone speakers.

For me, this "1987-1989 era" is and always be my favorite era of Pink Floyd. David Gilmour, Tim Renwick, Guy Pratt, Rachel Fury, Scott Page, every single one of the guys off and on stage did a certain magic to the band that for me will never be the same. Thank you for uploading these vids Obi!
Sweet child! All my birthday and holiday gifts, as presents, I got concert tickets from my parents for myself and 8-12 friends. Got to see Pink Floyd multiple times, started in 1972!! Yeah, I'm old now, but to see everyone from The Kinks, Traffic, ELP, Jethro Tull, Bowie, Dylan (on my 16th), plus many more, and, of course, Pink Floyd. I wouldn't mind being younger, but getting to see the BeST, with tickets at $6.50, for the best seats, and great "party favors"! Experiences worth getting old for. Just don't tell my face! 😅 It still believes I am 13. Shh!😊

The Venice show was great fun, but it was very tense and nerve-wracking. We had a specific length of show to do; the satellite broadcasting meant we had to get it absolutely precise. We had the list of songs, and we'd shortened them, which we'd never done before. I had a big clock with a red digital read-out on the floor in front of me, and had the start time of each number on a piece of paper. If we were coming near the start time of the next number, I just had to wrap up the one we were on. We had a really good time, but the city authorities who had agreed to provide the services of security, toilets, food, completely reneged on everything they were supposed to do, and then tried to blame all the subsequent problems on us. Lots of twaddle was written about it, even by some nice respectable journalists from The Guardian - stuff about our music disturbing the buildings; complete ****ing absolute twaddle.

Well not exactly, she retired in late 1990 after finish this part of the tour and after some performances along with the Blue Pearl project which also featured Durga McBroom and Gary Wallis in between others. Cheers!

How can I say this... I am a huge electric guitar fan of superstars. I love the emotion & expression. The 4-Greatest MUSICAL! expressionists I've ever listened to endlessly... David Gilmour & Pink Floyd, Carlos Santana, the Scorpions, and Llynard Skynard... Endlessly! The raw emotion which is created/carried/supported by genuinely brilliant guitars and band is for me mind-boggling. Every time. Even now, 2024, I've not heard equals who can make their sounds musical, emotional and powerful. That's so few out of so many superb technicians.

35 years ago! I was in Venice 3 days ago (bad timing 😅) and took pictures from the water side and St Mark square to the stage. What an impressive concert that must been. Another nice fact, I’ll be 35 by the end of August. My dad and mom used to go to the concert 1989 in Nijmegen (Netherlands) but it was too dangerous due to the deep bass tones of the live performance yet my mom was highly pregnant of me🙋🏻♂️

Hey Mark ciao! I can imagine that much of the people must have expected a stantard format for the show and that must be a low for sure. Personally I always love it, and after a deep deep dive on it for the last six months for this project, I think that, despite the shortened format prompted by the satellite availability, musically this must be a top ten for the tour, pity that there's not an even better source for the audio, since even the official being the best known until now still have some issues. Anyways hope you enjoy my reedition, see you in the premiere my friend!

E sì, posso confermarlo perché ho la versione ufficiale e la verità è che il risultato finale è molto superiore nei video e non parlare in audio, che in questo modo l'ho fatto in 5.1 surround. Saluti!
