Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

I am, by no means, an experienced crocheter, BUT when I watch and copy what you are doing, I am able to crochet whichever stitch or pattern you are presenting to us - without mistakes! You are an excellent instructor, thank you so much for helping me to build on my crocheting confidence!
Comments like this make it all worthwhile! I'm so glad!! Xx 🥰
Não sei inglês.....
I agree with you ❤️
I also agree and appreciate the tutorials, you are a thoughtful teacher toward us as eager learners. Many blessings . . .
Robin,
This is the first pattern my Grandmother taught me to crochet. She gave me a box of odd yarn. I was quite proud of my first Afghan. It was colorful and a bit wonky!
Your color choices are beautiful. Thanks for the happy memory of my late Grandmother. She is the inspiration for my creative endeavors.
Thanks for sharing.❤
Gosh i just love to watch you crochet! Your stitching is so pretty and smooth! Im a weirdo, i know. 😂
Thank you so much Amy!😃🧶
You know it looked hard but now I see it is not hard thank you for showing us I love it and I love the color
You’re so welcome Brenda!🧶
Dear Robin, your way of explaining actually gets processed in my brain! Thank you for making me understand this stitch to have the courage to try it again after many failures!
I AM a seasoned crocheter..but I have to say...I have never used this pattern and you are the ONLY one to explain this stitch where someone can understand it easily. Thanks for the new stitch and your excellent teaching skills!!❤
Thank you so much Linda, I am so glad it helped. 😀🧶
Excellent tutorial. Your camera angle & lighting show precisely where the hook should be placed. This stitch is really easier than it seems from just looking at a completed sample.
Oh definitely!😃 Thank you so much for your feedback too, that is so appreciated.
I love this stitch. Definitely have to try this. Also love that you have the Timestamps that you can jump to if needed. Your tutorials are always very clear and enjoyable to watch.
That looks so cool! Thank you for this very easy to follow tutorial, Robin. I could just listen to your voice all day long!
Your videos are so clear and concise, so easy to follow. Thank you!
Aw thank you so much Kate!

Beautiful pattern and love how you explain details with patience 🙏 so one can understand and work along with you 🎉 ty 💖🌹
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for explaining everything so well. I am 66 years old, and have crocheted off and on for decades, more off than on. I live your videos and want to try them all. I just need my hubby to find my multiple tubs of yarn, out in our caport that the car can't fit into. We have only been here four years. You inspire me to do more. Thank you!
You are so welcome Bonnie, I hope you find your yarn soon! 🤗🧶
Your tutorials are really awesome! A beginner can definitely do this with you! 🎉❤
Awwh, thank you so much Debbie! 🥰
Your instructions are so clear. Thank you
Your tutorials, directions for crocheting projects have been fantastic. I have been able to start the foundation chains, and have continued crocheting the project, e.g. Larksfoot Crochet Blanket without frustration or giving up. Your voice is soft, comforting, and you present as extremely patient. Your tutorial/video's have been the best, I have found. Great instructor, Robin. I will continue subscribing to your channel, and enjoy learning new crocheting skills.
You always use the most beautiful yarn for your tutorials! 😍
I have been looking for this stitch forever! I didn't know what it was called. My grandma made one for my mom over 30 years ago but she has passed away so I couldn't ask her. I'm so happy! Thank you so much! I love your channel and have learned so much from you. ❤
This is great! This stitch looked so complicated before watching this video!
I'm going to challenge myself with this one. Looks great. Really helpful with the timestamps. Thanks.
I found this pattern a little confusing but after watching Robyn's video, it all made sense...she explains in detail. Thank you Robyn. I will continue to follow you.
Awwh, I am so glad my video helped you Sonia.🤗🥰
Your choice of yarn is so pretty! Thank you so much 😊👍
thank you so much, Robyn. finally, someone knows what they are talking about, just awesome. & an excellent instructor.
I love how this stich looks using one solid yarn for the first two rows and one variegated.yarn for the other two rows. For exame, I used Buff Chamois as a solid and Platoon as a variegated. I think it looks amazing. The yarns mentioned are from Red Heart Super Saver, which is the acrylic yarn that I use for making throws/afghans. It is affordable and beautiful.
I really enjoy your easy to understand videos. They are clear and precise and your pace is perfect for learning new stitches. I’m totally hooked! 😊👍
Love this pattern and colors too ! Thanks so much for the directions !
This is one of my favorite patterns!! It's easy once you get the hang of the pattern. I love the spike stitch!! 🧶❤
Exactly! Tricky to begin with and you think "omg I'm never going to get this" and then suddenly you're flying and not even looking at the pattern!

Robin, I just started crocheting about 4 months ago and have used your tutorials to make 4 scarves, a blanket, and a shawl. Your way of explaining each stitch, and sharing all of your patterns is so appreciated. I’ve learned so much from you - I’m truly hooked! 16:16

Hi Jackie. As this video was in 2020, unfortunately that link to the yarn does not work anymore as that shop has stopped selling it. But if you search on google for: Scheepjes Chunky Monkey then some options should come up for different websites you can buy it from. The colours in blanket shown in intro and thumbnail (in order of use)are:
Cardinal
Coral
Deep Orange
Ochre
Mustard
Eucalyptus
Cornflower Blue
Mauve
Amethyst.
I hope that helps. 🤗🧶
Hello, I love watching your videos and I have learned so much by just rewinding repeatedly. Unfortunately, you make it look so easy & perfect and I want mine to look like yours. Perfect! I think I have trouble finding/counting the tops of the stitches to work into. You are a master of the craft. I’ll keep trying😂.
When I startet crochet I used lots of stitch markers. It really helps to get used to how the top of a stitch looks on a return row! And especially identifying the top of the first stitch of a row, since those always get cramped/yanked sideways.
Using stitch markers helped me so much that I don‘t use them at all by now, unless I pause working on something. Then I put a little slip of paper with the material and hook size on the marker (just push the marker through the paper) and secure the working yarn with it, before putting it in storage. Those 8 € for a box of 100 colorful stitch markers were a great investment!
Such a beautiful stitch! I'm gonna try this one. Thank you so much for sharing.😊🙋 take care.
So glad you're going to try it! :D
Hi Robin, thank you for a brilliant tutorial, always been a knitter and only recently found crochet, I found it very difficult at the beginning as I didn’t understand the patterns but watching tutorials seems to help, must be a visual learner, I just finished the Sirdar crochet along for the sweet blossom blanket as my first piece, it took a lot longer than the six weeks but I enjoyed it immensely. Don’t think I’ll be picking up my knitting needles for a while, so many new crochet stitches to learn and you make it look so easy, thank you😘
Thank you Robin. Im fairly new to crochet, havent done the larksfoot yet, watched a few tutorials on it but yours is the easiest to follow and most informative for this new comer.
Very much appreciated 🧡🥰
Thank you so much Lynne, I’m glad they help! 😃🧶
Easy to follow along with you and I’ve got to say I’ve seen this stitch before but I didn’t think I liked it because of the colors used to demonstrate it. I know I shouldn’t judge a stitch by it’s color but unfortunately I did (do) and yours looks so, so pretty! I’m excited to use it now! TY for sharing💜🙏💜
I know EXACTLY what you mean - the colours can instantly put you off something for sure! So glad this video didn't have the same effect LOL!
Vc combinou muito bem as cores 💚
This us amazing!❤❤
I may have to try this!!😊
Easy to follow. Thanks.

I wish I learned this stitch from you instead of a written pattern years ago 🤦🏽♀️. Thanks so much for the video 👏🏼👏🏼😀
LOL Vergie!! 😂
wow you are a lean mean Crocheting matchine :3
I like your guides they are very good at showing the steps.
Since you taught me the joined double crochet stitch I'm doing this larksfoot with that variation, and it's working very nicely!
Perfect Marialla!😃😍
@@HookedbyRobin I have an update:
Having finished my sampler section of larksfoot with joined doubles, I'm left wondering why in row four of the design we create a space mirroring the spaces in row three. My guess is that it's to reduce bulk for the long spike stitch coming in the row above. But my problem was that I had trouble regulating the tension of that spike stitch. The hole wanted to collapse, even though I was drawing up what I thought was a roomy spike.
If I do this pattern again I'll test to see whether more tension on the spike makes a pretty scalloped effect, or whether filling in the holes on row 4 with a continual row of the joined doubles gives better structure.
Your sample was very beautiful! I'm not trying to diss your work. I'm just reporting how it went for me. Thank you again for sharing such beautiful stitches to try!
Awesome work, 1st time to your channel. Enjoyed it very much. Thank you! 🙂
Thanks for the video so pretty

I've used this pattern many times years ago. It makes a throw look really nice.
I need 2 make this
nice ty
Sehr schön ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
What a lovely idea! Might have to watch it a dozen times as I'm a rank beginner but I'm game to try it. p.s. I'd give a thousand pounds to have fingernails like yours.
This is so cool I can't wait to start. How much yarn would I need for a blanket I think I will use the rainbow colors as well but don't know how much to purchase
Wow, can I do your hint on weaving in changing colours with this Lark stitch?
Hi,
I love your patterns and have just finished the Bubble Puff blanket and am half way thriugh making a hexagon blanket. Just a quick question. My border is a bit wavy even after I redid it and skipped more stitches to flatten it. I measured the length of the clusters and divided them into the length of the sides and they are ok. So In think I need to block the blanket but I am not sure what is the best way. I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks.

🥰
Hi Robin 👋👋👋👋😊
😀🤗
Hi
Love this. Did you use aran or chunky yarn please?
What do you do with the yarn between colors? Do you leave it attached to the yarn skein? Do you cut it then weave in the ends? I am curious about how to do it. Thanks!
Didn't like the look of the spike stitch so I used a triple crochet. Cheating I guess but it looks neater to me 😊
