Kobe’s has some of the absolute best scoring performances of all time in an era where some teams still averaged 90 points a game. Averaged 30+ 7 and 7 in the playoffs as a 21 year old

Thank you MadDog for including the whole history of the game. Not just 1992 and on. Some don't know the game had talent before the 90's.
fr man they think basketball started in the 90s with mj’s bulls lol
Yeah just the overall play was so much worse before the 80s then so you can't really count it as much. They had some great players that woulda been HOF in any era, but they were playing against some dogshit. The level of play increased dramatically in the 80s.
Exactly, which is why Wilt has an argument for #1 against MJ.
Mad Dog needs to be on with Steve every day. They are a great duo like Michael and Scottie.
So which one of them secretly hates the other? 😅

MadDogg is great!! His energy is unmatched
Love this take this generation needs to be reminded of their scoring impact at a time who barely relied on three pointers
Pistol Pete was a dog 💯 the white kyrie
Bruh shut up
Yeah. I don’t agree. It’s not about 3s v 2s it’s about career avg in points. Pete, Kareem, and whoever #3 was wouldn’t out score Lebron, Steph, or KD. Those three alone probably avg more career points than anyone on that bird except for Jordan
@@anthonytiaparker2986 Nah you cant just go by career ppg. The game is played way faster these days. Teams have way more offensive possessions which leads to more shots. You add in the spacing/zone defense and take away hand checking then there's no comparison. Steph wouldn't be steph in the 80's/90's. KD and Lebron would do good, but Lebrons not pure scorer like the others on this list.
@@tjali563 everyone’s gonna leave out Harden even though he averaged 36 pts per game had a streak of 29 30 point games in a row and back to back 50 points like just because he’s a play maker now doesn’t take away that the dude was an unstoppable scorer arguably second best scorer or first ever
Props to his selection of Pete Maravich. He was a WALKING BUCKET.
A true innovator too, really wish he got to play with the three point line more, dude was dropping 10-15 from 3 back in 1980 lmao

Mad dog and Stephan A are absolutely fantastic
Pete played 26 games for the Celtics in 79, in those games he averaged about 17 minutes a game, 11.4 points a game and was shooting 75% from 3 point line. He would probably shoot a 3 every other game, he wasn't jacking them up, but still that's impressive.

Good stuff. Maddog actually gives history lessons everytime he’s on. Great Duo for the show. I may be the only guy that will say this but when it comes to scoring I’ll have to put Keem the Dream over Wilt. I would also have to put Benard King in my top 5 far as Scoring

Nah kobe too high. He was a very high volume scorer but was inefficient. Kd and curry have to be top 5.
Kobe shouldn’t be top 5 anything

I just looked up some of his old videos. Pistol Pete was🔥🔥🔥... but he's not top 5. Maybe top 15 tho

Because you're a casual and dont know basketball
Check out his NCAA record and learn
But in college he averaged 44 lol
Nah I respect it, I wouldn't personally but I'm not mad at it.
Unpopular opinion: Averaging more PPG doesn't make you a better scorer, just a more prolific scorer
KD is number 1 all time in my eyes as a scorer
I know what you mean in terms of overall arsenal but surely being more prolific means you’re better? As long as you get points it doesn’t really matter how. MJ is the GOAT scorer
I was surprised that they changed the rule a long time ago that total points for the season does not get you the scoring title. It’s ppg. How stupid?!?
KD cant be number one, he gets bothered by aggressiveness. MJ never would've gotten shut down by tony Allen or Tayshaun Prince like KD did
@@raypurchase155 then why isn't Kareem your 🐐 scorer, or LeBron? They've gotten the most points in NBA history, so by your definition they're the greatest scorers ever. Doesn't matter how you get your points, right?
@@raypurchase155 fg% is just as important tho. Any star could bomb up 30 shots a game and average 35-40ppg. And i disagree that mj is the greatest scorer. I think kd and curry are the best pure scoring talents the league has ever seen.
I can’t believe KD isn’t on that list. He is lethal. The most skilled scorer I have ever seen and I’ve seen them all. Inside, outside, mid range, long range, anyway you want it he will give it to you. Most big time scorers get their buckets by going to the line and he KD doesn’t need to.
He’s not better than any of those players
I debate that he being a perimeter player mostly is probably the most effecient and versatile scorer we have ever seen... Mike is the best scorer because of how he score in big moments .... But kd tools is crazy
You can stop Lebron with J.J. Barea tho.
KD can't replace anyone on that list but Pete lol
@@GOATGamingAndSports huh 😂kd shoots better from everywhere on the field then Kobe while taking less shots
Only change I would make is swopping out Wilt for Steph Curry and Pete Maravich for Jerry West. I get the scoring numbers are one sided but for ME if you going to list "scorers" that should be players that with the game on the line, who do you give the ball to to get you a bucket.

I love this duo. It's must see TV
To me KD is number 2 but here are all the guys I’d Easily out ahead of Pete no order no disrespect.
1. Kd 2. Curry 3. Lebron 4. Karl Malone 5. Larry bird 6. James harden 7. Tracy McGrady 8. Carmelo Anthony. Scoring ain’t just about the number the ability and skill is a big part of it too
You didn't name kobe...
Boy u a silly cat
@@vidalmoore3537 I’m talking about people left off the list read carfully
@BftBG777 George an underrated and disrespected all time great that’s a fact
@BftBG777 I’d put them ahead of Pete also tbh I’d even put Luka in only his 4th season ahead.
Everybody has their own top 5 list, and you can't argue one way or the other with their list. The only thing you must take into account is the era and the style of play. The only question you ask about any great scorer is could they play in any era and still be great.
