Yup it’s a beautiful and heartbreaking song. She loved her Dad. Although technically it should be called Contrails rather than Chemtrails, Lizzy gets a pass from me on that because it’s a so damn good.
If you like this one, her previous album “Give me a minute” is absolutely beautiful, more stripped down and acoustic but her voice shines in the best possible way

Ceilings is SO UNDERRATED. I also kind of skimmed it over on the first few listens of the album, but then one day it came on and I truly LISTENED and I was MIND BLOWN. Give it another chance Troy!!
Chemtrails hurts, bro. I tear up every time. I feel so validated that you cried too. I heard it in my car for the first time, and when it clicked, my jaw dropped and I bawled.
It didnt click for me until smh. I started having to tear up too we are both the same age and i had the same experience almost exactly a year before hers. Ive been wanting to write songs about how i feel but im just not nearly as gifted as Lizzy is. im so happy she totally nailed expressing the grief so tragically yet beautifully.
“Called You Again” is an underrated masterpiece bc the way she wrote it represents EXACTLY what she’s singing about. She could’ve ended it after the second chorus but came back for an outro bc she “never knows when to stop” 🤯🤯🤯🤯
i would pay an embarrassing amount of money to be hypnotized to forget all of lizzys songs so I could hear them all over again for the first time and be baffled of her talent
I love how Troy repeatedly keeps saying “give me a second” in between songs without knowing that the first album was literally called “Give me a minute”. I kept thinking about that every time he said it.
your "theatrical" comment is spot on. Lizzy actually has a background in musical theatre! I had the joy of acting onstage with her in high school. it's such a delight to see her thriving and kicking so much ass

YES!! Omg Lizzy is so under-rated and I'm so glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. She's such an amazing artist, even in her past ep and album everything was just amazing :)

Except for Ceilings 😭 that song WRECKS you when the lyrics “but it’s not real, and you don’t exist” hit you ): it’s a song for all the people who fantasize about being loved and relationships, but at the end of the day are alone and it was never real what they were imagining. Lizzy and her production team have produced a work of serious genius in 5 Seconds Flat. She’s one of the most brilliant song writers and vocalists on the planet. I’m thinking Yellow Submarine caliber. Albums this great are rare.
When you said you wanted some piano action... I immediately went “oh wait til you hear chemtrails” THEN YOU WERE LIKE: “i don’t know what she’s talking about on this but i’m READY FOR IT..” SIR YOU ARE NOT, WE ALL WERE NOT HAHA

This is one of my favorite albums of the year, and it came as a complete surprise since I just checked it out on a whim on Spotify and was blown away. My personal favorite songs are doomsday, hate to be lame, erase me, orange show speedway, and reckless driving, but the entire album is fantastic.

No one else making music today does what Lizzy does. She’s a poet and brilliant song writer and has one of the most beautiful and evocative voices I’ve ever heard. She’s a superstar.
AHHH i’ve been waiting for this since the album came out! this is actually how i got into lizzy & i can’t wait for you to show the album some love 🥰
i found lizzy through ceilings randomly and i fell in love and found reckless driving. from there i listened to some of this album so im reacting to most of it with you too but oml this made me feel all the feels. ALL OF THEM.
This is one of my favorite albums of the year, and it came as a complete surprise since I just checked it out on a whim on Spotify and was blown away. My personal favorite songs are doomsday, hate to be lame, erase me, orange show speedway, and reckless driving, but the entire album is fantastic.
AHHH IVE BEEN WAITING!!! +I would love to see ur reaction to Home Video by Lucy Dacus. she’s worked w phoebe bridgers on a lot of music and is all around an incredible artist :)
HE'S GOING TO CRY IN THUMBS 😭
the production on doomsday is my favorite thing ever
Watching this gave me so much seratonin. Knowing someone reacted with the same intensity as I did on my first and subsequent listens makes me so happy!
I've been waiting for this video since Hate To Be Lame, I discovered Lizzy when she released Doomsday and Five Seconds Flat is EVERYTHING
I bought tickets to Lizzy’s show in Chicago while watching this reaction. I actually first came across her in 2019 when she did a mini cover of Emily king but this video reaction made me appreciate her music more! Thanks
omg yess! this is MY aoty lizzy is so good and so underrated so excited!!!!
I literally have a playlist which is just full of Lizzy McAlpine. It’s so calming bro and it makes me want to curl up in a ball and sleep to, like it’s heaven in my ears. She’s so talented
Yes! I have been thinking since the first time I heard Doomsday that it sounded like the perfect song for a musical theater production! Makes sense considering her MT interest!
Also her falsetto reminds me a bit of Joni Mitchell...
Thank you for listening to Lizzy, that is literally what I have wanted you to do since I first found your videos 🥺 I am content now
