Watching your reaction reminded me of why Billie has that effect on all metalheads. They all melt and sob. Billie is actually a big metal fan. She wore Rob Zombie and System of a down t-shirts on stage. She even admitted that she used to sneak into metal concerts as an underage kid. In her documentary "The World's a litte blurry", you can see her concerned mother discussing the lyrics in "listen before I go".

What i love so much about all her work, is that you can just tell these albums are such genuine reflections of where she is in her life. Her debut is cocky fun shrouded in darkness and depression, her second album is sporadic and restless and maybe isnt so sure what it is (like her at that time), and her new one is mature and sophisticated and bitter from heart break. To me all true music is good music. And her music is true.

watching your videos and any reaction videos in general is always so interesting and nostalgic in a way? because you can't really listen to an album for the first time again, but then you see people listen to it the way you listened to it (like sat down, headphones on, same kinda mindset) and then see them get wowed away the same you were, and it's like - oh my god, i'm reliving it. and especially my FAVORITE albums, this is just so incredible to do because i don't know what i'd do to listen to any of billie's albums again for the first time (especially happier than ever).

Everything Billie does is gold and she has been developing her craft nonstop since she first recorded Ocean Eyes at age 13. They uploaded it to SoundCloud and it went viral. This album is so cool, unique, and the production is just so good. It really hit the whole world and took it by storm in 2019. Her music is growing up with her and she’ll never be that depressed 16 year old who made this album again. What a moment! By the way, she happened to have a documentary crew in her home the year she made this with her brother in his bedroom. The documentary is called The World’s a Little Blurry on Apple+ and it is phenomenal, SO worth watching! We are so lucky that her family let us in to witness her launch.

Enjoying ur Billiefest. This album was groundbreaking and popular but I think HMHAS is a more honest portrayal. Also she was just a teen on this, but now, 5 years later she has matured, become more confident in her voice and expanded her vocal abilities. For me, Billie's main attraction is her voice, plus stellar songwriting and production. There is a reason she and her brother have 19 Grammys and 4 Oscars. Thanks,.

listen before I go is such a deep and heartbreaking song, especially went you went through that stuff. I started to listen to billie when dsatm first released and I was just a kid (11yo). As soon as wwafaswdw dropped I fell in love with it. I had a though childhood and lived some horrible moments especially between 2018-2021 where I never saw the light at the end of the tunnel, my brain couldn’t think about anything but ending it all COSTANTLY. This album and especially that song are very special to me and I will never be thankful enough to Billie. Her music helped me and made me feel understood on so many levels. 1:09:54 i would call it being so “raw”. just straight raw emotion. it’s authentic artistry. i mean ‘listen before i go’ was literally a suicide note..
& bc it’s literally just her & finneas (her brother) creating this art, the stream of consciousness she’s pouring out to us stays raw & in her blood. (it’s called a ‘blood harmony’ to sing harmony with your sibling.)

2/01/2025 - Thanks for your reaction. I am a 71 yr old Billie fan who believes "HMHAS" is phenomenal, but I would not put that about WWAFAWDWG - WWAFA is truly a great album written by 15 to 17 yr old Billie. "Listen before I go" was first sung by 15 yr. old Billie. Billie nearly jumped out a window in Germany - the suicidal ideation was real. FINNEAS is the only producer for her album songs. He is also the sole writer of "When the Party's Over" and "My Strange Addiction" [excerpts from The OFFICE which she had watched in its entirely 12 times - her strange addiction - I also believe it's not that interesting.] "Bury a Friend is about sleep paralysis and Billie being the monster under the bed - the line "When we all fall asleep where do we go?" is the actual context, for the song; before you listen to Happier Than Ever, {which I rate lower than either her first or third album, I would listen to her EP "Don't Smile at Me" by 13 - 15 yr. old Billie. On her EP Finneas is the sole writer of "Watch" and of the song that started it all "Ocean Eyes". P.S. One of the ongoing sounds in "Bad Guy" is a crosswalk beeper she recorded in Melbourne or Sidney; and on "Bury A Friend" as her orthodontist was drilling off the attachments in her mouth, she recorded it in the chair - and you here the drill on the song. The documentary "The World's A Little Blurry 2021 is worth your time when you have time [ it is long]. "8" is one a usu. skip and "My Strange Addiction" too. In your spare time, the Music videos, perhaps beginning with those for "Bury A Friend", "When the Party's Over", and You should see me in a crown" - for the latter, there are two official videos - a vertical video with spiders that has truly been too much for reactors with Arachnophobia and another anime video that is excellent - I like both.

Totally with you on everything. "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" is such an iconic album. "Hit Me Hard and Soft" needs more listens to really get you, but for me, it doesn’t quite reach the same level it has great song but I mean on this one… xanny, when the party's over, bury a friend, listen before I go, i love you-it's all so good. And the fact that they produced and wrote everything in their own bedroom/house? Amazing.
Personally, I usually start at track 3 and skip bad guy. and my strange addiction in the middle, which is the only song I can do without on the album. But as a debut album-wow.

And I do have to request a Taylor Swift reaction, but not to her shitty songs that you've probably heard, her albums folklore and evermore are so different from the typical Shake it Off and Love Story style. They are very lyrically-focused and complex, not as much musically but still gorgeous.
