As a meat eater, my favorite Vegan recipe influencers are Pickup Limes (they just created an app), Rachel Ama, Sweet Potato Soul, and Rainbow Plant Life. They have recipes that actually TASTE amazing. Hope this helps!
I went plant based 8 years ago. It does take time to acclimate. I’ve heard of people slowly transitions to more of a plant based diet by only eating one meal a week plant based. Then slowly adding another and another. I do have to say that my digestive system is much more efficient and I overall feel more at peace with my food choices. Pick Up Limes is a wonderful source of recipes! Wish you the best with your clean eating habits.
Before I went vegan, and was learning to cook with more plants, I had my fair share of failed meals 😅 Eventually, you'll get more comfortable knowing what will or wont work, just from looking at the recipe!
One thing that really helped with reconnecting my eating habits is to eat for my cycle. It's structured enough to help with groceries and meals and it's flexible enough to incorporate and substitute some foods for others. Once I got better at that, I started to learn to eat more intuitively! Listening to what my body is saying and learning what my body is expresing in order to replace other eating habits was especially helpful for me. Happy munching!
Love everything about your videos these days, Janae!!! ❤ I've been living that plant-based life tor 10 (?!) years now and there have definitely been a lot of L's taken with recipes. But people like Love and Lemons do it right! Some other heavy hitters: sweet potato soul, rainbow plant life, and hot for food!
it’s crazy how i always come back to your channel after a while, but it’s also crazy that we are on seemingly similar journeys in mindfulness! always love and enjoy your content
I have been a vegan for 10+ years and all I can say is be created and do your own thing, read some books. I stop following people's recipes and advice years ago, it's your journey do you ❤
Hi Janae! I know you’ve already visited Boston but can I just quickly plug: I relocated here from LA 4 years ago and it is much easier to get around with no car and living here has helped improve my health: better air quality, more accessible and bigger parks, easy to walk to food, almost no nightlife lol 😂 it’s got its problems like every American city but I find people here a lot more motivated to fix them than in LA. I love the direction your channel is going!
I’ve been watching your channel for about 6 months now and it’s been really refreshing to see all of this inner self work you’re doing and how your perspective on life is changing. I feel like we’re besties! Keep going queen!
I’m absolutely loving it what you’re doing! I could watch your videos all day. I feel like we are besties chatting about our thrift store finds and recipes❤
I’ve been vegan for 4 years and my biggest piece of advice to people trying to eat more plant based is MAKE MEALS YOU ALREADY LIKE BUT VEGAN! I hardly ever ate salads before going vegan, if I only ate those while trying to transition I would’ve thought it was soo ass hahaha. Just try to veganize things you already like to start then branch into foods/recipes that are newer to you, one of my favorite meals starting out vegan was chickpea pasta, marinara sauce, broccoli and a piece of bread haha-eat what you already like!
Aww. Thanks so much, friend. I definitely have been feeling that way more and more lately. V thankful to have finally realized what changes needed to be focused on internally and externally to get there ♥. Sending you so much love!
love love love your videos lately! I 100% feel you on our lack of walkable cities in the US. It's a huge bummer. I live in San Diego which on the whole is pretty car dependent, but my neighborhood and the adjacent ones (University Heights/North Park/Hillcrest) are so walkable, I can walk to a lot! The only time I drive is to go to the beach, hike, etc.
your room is looking so cute. i was cracking up at the failed dinner meal rant 🤣 i feel u on the eating clean tho. there’s so much SHEEIT in our foods clothes air etc we literally can’t escape from toxins. i suggest intermittent fasting to really speed up the body’s healing process. the vanity is toooooo cute
I love your videos and a part of me just wants to see you make stickers of you carrying different home items. It’d be hilarious to see chibi Janea carrying like a huge ass vase or mid century modern tv console.
I love the feel of the apartment, that vintage vibe, I'm all in for! Could you please provide the brand for the sleeping mask? Thank you for being so authentic on your platform!
Loving your content lately - I identify with this phase of reconnecting with what we really want/need to live a life of satisfaction ◡̈ Not sure how long you’re planning on staying in the LA area but Santa Monica is very walkable - everything I need is within a 20 min stroll
my favorite look for your room was mid century nightstands, that really simple bench and the mirror. i feel like yes part of the problem was the furniture not matching your style, but also less is more. both finished rooms have a ton of furniture. which you may like! but just my thoughts.
those nightstands…I need as a cat owner 😭 i’m imagining how easy they are to dust since they shut fully. Also, to plug my walkable city: Chicago is amazing if you want to grab a light bite literally out your door but don’t want NYC rent
🤣🤣Girl, that's why I follow Black vegan chefs. They bring the flavor. I'm glad you found Rachel Ama, add @sweetpotatosoul to your list too. She has delicious vegan southern recipes on her channel 💕 Tip: Add more seasonings and spices to all your vegan dishes to help take it to the next level. Love the new dresser 😍
Why did RUclips lot me know you posted these?! You are a decorator and you know it.. Is completely ok 😅. Anyways I’m to continue on thru this series. Hope you’ll be back soon❤
Low carb, no sugar and increased protein will get you where you want to go. I started eating that way 23 months ago to get on top of my health. In doing so, I’ve lost 150 pounds and reversed my Type 2 Diabetes. This is a healthy way of eating that I can maintain; no crazy foods that I know I won’t want to eat. Good Luck to you.🙏
I wish thrive market sell their products in a grocery store…I want to walk in a store and browse around instead of ordering online and pay a member fee….but good if you don’t want to go to a grocery store or don’t have time.
Check out foreign vegetarian recipes. I feel like western vegetarian recipes seem sort out f "made up" while many countries cusine already have plant based foods. Check Chinese, Indian, Korean, Middleeastern etc
Lol veganize your favorite non-vegan dishes! Personally I rotate burrito bowl, stir fry, pasta, & pizza ~•° I really hope you don't get too focused on the "clean eating" & "whole food" because those aren't sustainable eating habits -> balance is key..take care of yourself, angel!
There's a lot of bad recipes out there, not just bad vegan recipes. Just gotta keep trying and find what works for your taste buds. I've been vegan for 8 years now and I still try new recipes that end up flopping, but I don't let it upset me, it's just all part of the cooking process.
Oh girl, I am going to reach out to you or Instagram. Just look out from my DM from another stranger. I’m sure it will go on to that empty area but you want to look for this. I am going to send you some of my vegan recipes. I have been vegan 12+ years and I have been vegetarian since I was 19 before I turn in Vegan. I am Way over 40. I don’t want to link the real me but I will drop you a few of my vegan recipes and when I tell you, you’re going to be fine. I have learned to Veganized just about everything. I will even give you a few of the vegan restaurants I miss from when I lived in the LA area. Well, the healthy ones. I know where all the good vegan food is that bad or good.
Blanket statement about vegans...not cool. Many of us know how to throw down in the kitchen. I have NEVER had a complaint and I do potlucks for many occasions and holidays. I always come home with an empty container.
Have you considered the carnivore diet there are many different ways to nourish yourself ? I'm currently like trying to eat a diet that's full of fruits and vegetables but also high in protein and fat like there's many different ways to go about this you don't have to choose the vegan diet I honestly don't think the vegan diet or the carnivore diet are like can fully nourish you because you need to take supplements on either diet you have to try things out I don't think you need to go to the vegan route
Have you ever thought about seeing a registered dietitian or nutritionist that is about more mindful eating? Not trying to give advice since I just see a slice of your life. As a therapist, I always recommend for people who struggle with food to see a professional especially someone who practices HAES
I’m glad you included some videos you enjoyed at the end. Been thinking about trying AG1 powder, but now I’m going to watch the “AG1 is a scam video” you included to be more informed. As always, Janae, thank you for keeping it real and authentic. 💛🩷
I like the direction your channel is going in! Tired of influencers doing cookie cutter interiors! MAY THE ALGORITHM FAVOR THIS WOMAN!
I second this!! ❤
Her style looks so effortlessly cool. Have always loved her vibe but the last 2 places she’s lived really upped the ante!
As a meat eater, my favorite Vegan recipe influencers are Pickup Limes (they just created an app), Rachel Ama, Sweet Potato Soul, and Rainbow Plant Life. They have recipes that actually TASTE amazing. Hope this helps!
Pick up limes is the best!
Seriously! Two of my favorite RUclipsrs colliding with this comment.
Seconding this! I love all of these creators :) we love supporting women of color
Thank you! I needed some recommendations too! ❤
I loooove Rachel Ama.
Tabitha Brown is one of my favs for vegan/vegetarian recipes!

Love to see you doing what's right for you! Your home is really coming together. Those nightstands are so great!
So, so appreciate your kind words and support ♥. Thank you!
Before I went vegan, and was learning to cook with more plants, I had my fair share of failed meals 😅 Eventually, you'll get more comfortable knowing what will or wont work, just from looking at the recipe!
Try minimalist baker for 5 star vegan recipes!!! Ive never made a bad one of hers! Also its not just baking its mostly entree stuff.
I was going to suggest the same. A great introduction, also Oh She Glows.
me sneaking this vlog in while i lowkey pretend to work at the office 🙏🏽🙏🏽 love that for me

Hot sauce has saved many failed meals I made when I first started eating more plant based. I feel your frustration. You're doing great!

As a MCM girlyyyyy myself I am so hyped to have you be on this new style journey 🥹
But the end table (edit: nightstand) reveal! 🤩 What a great marketplace steal!!

And just like that your videos brings such realism and humanism to my life once again 🫶🏾
That means so much and makes my heart so warm. Thank you for being here and for sharing this with me. Sending you the biggest hug ♥.

Wow! I have a credenza and a dresser that match your nightstands! I'm pretty sure they're from the same maker, Dillingham Esprit. Great find!
I was just wishing for another video! Always loved your content but adoring this new shift ❤
I’m absolutely loving it what you’re doing! I could watch your videos all day. I feel like we are besties chatting about our thrift store finds and recipes❤
I’m loving all the home content! Your style is 10/10 🤩🤩
Not gonna lie that Vegan dish definitely looked like it was going to be a hit though. Your content always brings me joy!
Left another video immediately after your notification .. Hey Friend!!
Stop! Hahaha. Thank you for the love and quick popover 😭.
I am loving the soft jazz intro. Do you know the name of the track and/or the artist(s)? ❤❤❤
Would LOOOOOVE a silent vlog.
Ohh I love the videos I enjoyed this week part!
I live for your videosssss and appreciate the consistency! 🤌🏾

Hey jaynay, would you consider doing a mini-series reviewing interior designs of different eras?
Your apartment is looking so nice, very fancy 70s I love it!

Your reaction to that meal took me out 😂😂 I totally understand the sentiment, nothing worse than hating the meal you cooked

she linked it
@@queenchanene78 thank you so much!
Thanks so much, sis! I appreciate you for hanging with me on here and your kind words ♥. The mask is linked above in the description box :).

Not me lighting my incense to catch up RUclips on my telé and see your wonderful face. Night made🤗!
Hahahahaha, how's anyone going to get in your club. You crack me up.
Get you some Tabitha Brown seasonings 😂. Herbs and seasonings makes a difference
As an experienced vegan and home cook, I never follow a recipe to a T I always have to add my own spin or more spices etc
Share your fav incenses. I'm obsessed with pf candles and the Esteban Paris ones

You sound like a pro,can ya help me out. I keep getting hungry,is it the protein that I need to increase?
Wow congratulations.
How do you avoid sugar when it's in everything??? I can't always drink water....
I'm not sure how feasible it is for you to live abroad, but I'm not sure you'll find a truly walkable city in the states.
I have been 30 for 3 months & honestlyyyyy it really is hard trying to do better at times.
