    Great works sir !
Just a thought about improving the braking with the chains, I’m thinking if maybe every 10 or so chain links you inserted an appropriate sized bolt and nut through the chain link so , the end of the bolt protruded through the chain link about 5 mm , essentially making the chains like spiked tyres.
Given the nut and bolt would be slapping the road every rotation it may require a dob of weld on the nut/bolt to secure the bolt from coming loose or crush the end of the bolt in a vice .

Id be interested in seeing 1 chain on each but not in the middle. Like all on outside or all in inside or one out and one in. I theorize this will not limit the contact of the tire on the ground as much, so braking would not be effected as much. And the offset for steering may allow for a quicker ability to grip.
