How lovely. The audience even performed well. I love Bach.
God is my Sun and Sheild!
One of Bach's great choruses. Magnificent, majestic, a great work of art.
It‘s not only music for us. Its a service for HIM.
This powerful performance brings tears to my eyes.
La stessa cosa qui a me in Italia. Ho 55 anni e sto piangendo di gioia 😂😂😂😂😂😊❤
Bach's genius really shines through with this cantata and the Bach Foundation does it justice. Thank you
Bach must have had really good musicians when he wrote this one. It is virtuoso workout.
That´s the point. He did not. We have the original performance scores from his "Matthäus Passion" and there are a lot of not corrected write errors in it. That means he couldn´t hear them and that means that his musicians must have been too bad to hear them. But the specialists of Baroque Music play in tempos as if there were prof. orchestras on today´s level all around. And that´s BS.
@@anonymusum that's not unique to bach. The dresden orchestra parts often have mistakes in them not corrected. But at the same time, its true that bach often complained about his musicians ability. Having said that, bachs musicians would have been playing in the same style all the time every day. They couldn't have been that bad surely. And they would have been bumped up by a few visiting virtuosos every now and then.
@@Rik77 I never wrote that it´s unique to Bach.
Perfect performance. Soloists, oboe and singing public. Fabulous ❤️
All I need are your horns drums and trumpets Johann and I'm off and running.
Spectacular! Terrific dancing tempi, wonderful acoustic, glorious musicians all around. Do you suppose Bach as cantor faced the congregation to lead them? What an honor that would have been!
Thumbs up! an extra applause for those horns
Once again, a fabulous performance from all in this cantata, one I didn't know. Wonderful music!! Thank you, Bachstiftung.
Audience participation during Nun danket alle Gott...sounds like this was a fun concert!
IT'S SO FAST. Thrilling.
What an absolute masterpiece of counterpoint. Musicians and singers are quite matchless and under such inspired leadership is it any wonder? The tenor -Daniel Johanasson - has a timbre and clarity, which is a joy to hear and the other soloists sing beautifully and stylishly. Certainly one of the finest performances on 'You Tube'.
Couldn't agree more. I was simply swayed by the counterpoint of the first singing bars. What a beautiful work!
Fearsome horn part for the natural instrument. I played this on a modern Alexander -- difficult enough.
Bachhh!!! Saludos desde Lima
Oh my..my BFF's husband is from Chimbote in Peru. So real knowledgeable of trying to get out of the airport in Lima to get back to the United States with the pandemic and everything. And this music is beautiful. We are going to sing a part of this in our choir at Redeemer Lutheran this Sunday. And I needed to listen to the music. And our Director David Ludwig said this is the one you need to listen to. I joined the choir a little late. I am a terrible singer. But at least I have joy and enthusiasm. And I offer your peace and blessings from Central Florida this Friday, February 4, 2022. Be safe be careful we need you
Wow, just wow! I'd be so honored to sing in congregation with such rich orchestration!
Great job!
I hope Maestro Lutz does more cantatas with one-singer-per-part in the choruses -- it works very well!
Quelle précision rythmique et quel dynamique!Bravo Rudy!
Dynamisch. Ausdrucksvoll. Lebendig. Verbunden mit die Zuhörer. Bachs Zeit ist die beste Zeit .
Marvelous live interpretation! And extremely well-recorded with clarity of all the vocal & instrumental lines. One of my favorite Bach cantatas. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this new cantata release. Nice to include the congregation in the choral singing.
I wish that I was there. I would have sung the tenor line.
One of my favorite Bach cantatas. Thank you.
Sorprendente y gozoso. Muchas gracias por tanta belleza e innovación.
Danke!
Great^3
BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Very approachable cantata. Glorious chorale settings, opening chorus, arias, everything in short. I didn't know it. New!
Tout simplement magnifique !
Ganz wundervolle Aufführung. Vielen Dank.

Wunderschön!
Superb superb performance, Bursting with feel good energy right from the start. I like the tempo ad well. Installed as ringtone..check, installed as wake up music check..Best music to start your day..
Stupenda cantata eseguita magnificamente.
❤️
gracias
First! Enjoy greeting from Canada!
Sublime
I don't believe in God, I believe in Bach.
Great music. OVPP + audience. I guess it can be done in a place like Trogen, with a mainly Protestant public familiar with the hymn (Nun danket alle Gott).
Am I the only person who thinks the second Aria has sort of a Latin-American feel to it?
The lovely performance is marred by audio engineering issues with balance and mic overload. I'm not experiencing these issues with other videos from the Bach-Stiftung.
Beautiful performance, love it! Though one (really small) imperfection: video and audio are not properly synched. Audio is delayed by some 100ms with respect to video. But that's just one minor issue!
it's music, after all, may it be historically accurate or not, participation as an individual with own's voice and the resulting community is an absolutely valuable practice
8:38 - bald guy in the front is super excited to be singing, while blue shirt guy two rows back can't look less excited.
Wow, a wild Richard Atkinson, found in his natural habitat
I've heard this called "Bach's 9th Symphony."
lovely to hear it with solo voices, though the tempo is tad too brisk for my taste :)
I'm usually a 100% fan of Lutz's great interpretations, but here are a few things that strike me as odd: First of all, I wonder whether a vocal solo interpretation of one of Bach's most powerful choruses is the ideal solution. However, thanks to the excellent acoustics and the equally good soloists, it works relatively well here, even if I personally would have found a real, larger choir better. Then the tempo (an exception with Lutz) in the opening chorus is much too fast, it seemed to me like a caricature of historically informed performance practice.
Last but not least, it struck me as strange to hear the famous chorale "Nun danket alle Gott" sung in unison by the 60+ audience. A fun try, but nothing more, even if there are indications that the congregation could have sung the to chorales in Bach`s time. Otherwise, the musical level is exceptionally high especially the two natural horns.
I don't wish to be churlish about this impeccable performance - so many good things. However, the printed score for this cantata shows two flutes doubling the oboes in the first chorus and, I think, one as an obligato in one of the arias. They have obviously been omitted here. Is there a reason for this? Is it indeed an option, in an authentic performance? Needs clarification.
I find the way Miriam Feuersinger bobs up and down as she sings most endearing. There is something mischievous about it, probably not intentional!
Bach first performed the cantata on October 31, 1725. Probably in 1730, he changed the instrumentation, doubling the oboes with flutes and using the flute as an obbligato instrument in the alto aria. We have performed the first version of the work.
Aside from the opening chorus being entirely too fast to the point of near frantic hysteria, a lovely performance.
Did you notice the fake "natural" horns...
absolutely great.
