I’m a former black police officer. I resigned 5 years ago. I’ve dealt with racism, I’ve felt it. I’ve also had some good white cops as friends. I understand how some of you are feeling. I currently work in private security and I work for a private company with private property. I meet people and most of the time we have to tell them to leave the property because it is private property but I realized I did not connect with them. I did not show them anything different that would move their heart’s. In law enforcement I did that alot and I helped people by Gods grace but I guess I got comfortable with my own life and I didn’t see the hurting hearts of other’s. I admit that openly and humbly. That has changed now. Today a young man came on our property and I had to approach him. My approach was very different this time. I spent time with him. I spoke to him and tomorrow we are having lunch. He actually thanked me for my service. He almost teared up. I myself almost teared up...I had another encounter with a different group of people and the same thing occurred. I want the hurting to know change is coming and I will do everything in my strength by God’s grace to bring that change. Starting with each encounter one soul at a time.

The sad part of this is one of the officers had his back turned and being a cop has to support the others. He didnt know George was gonna die. So to say theyre as guilty as the man on his neck is a little questionable to me. They ARE All guilty but the reason I bring this up is that if the other 3 cops arent found guilty or as guilty because of this... people will riot once again and thats gonna be ANOTHER step back for us all.

Little did Shannon know is that the people who fired him is the precinct he works at since that’s the most they can do after their own investigation than the state has an investigation and they can charge him this is America and we have a democratic system which by design makes everything slower which can be both a good thing and bad thing

@@underratedszn6549 I respect Shannon but I don't agree with everything he said, more specifically, about "going to the grocery store, get a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and sneakers..." (I hope I am wrong, but it sounded as if Skip and Shannon condoned stealing, looting, and burning). I support our rights to the freedom of speech, right to bear arms and the right to safety, etc; but I don't understand how some protestors justify stealing, commit violent crimes, and destroy property. Change is incremental. Police brutality and the disconnect that some PD's and communities experience across America will not be solved anytime soon. However, I challenge all of us and people in the media to harness their resources and encourage more people to vote and/or look into working in the criminal justice system to protect and uphold peoples rights. Also, you are correct. The PD terminated the officers is a step in the right direction. However, they have a lot of work ahead of them. Among other things, the PD needs to change their use of force training and revise their policy and procedures. The state and perhaps the feds will take it from here. Let's wait and see who else is charged and what changes will take place with the police department. My condolences to the Floyd family.

Shannon you are so right as it relates to your feelings. I’m a wasp man 👨 who’s ancestors came to live in America in the 1600 hundreds. My ancestors lived and farmed in the north part of America and never had slaves or indentured people. Growing up in the sixties I saw first hand 🖐 what discrimination was all about for the Blackman. Only people of color can truly understand this. I haven’t ever walked in a blackman’s shoes. I hate all manner of discrimination and am truly color blind. I look at everybody the same. But I am just an old guy hoping all people can live together as brother and sister. God bless you Shannon Sharp, you are a wonderful man.

TheTmcabral3 It’s not just the police. It’s the entire system. If you commit a crime, see if you’ll be placed on desk duty receiving pay pending an investigation. After three years (unless the 🎥 intervenes), the energy around it dies down as the 👮♀️ gets off. Many of these officers have numerous complaints of injustice swept under the rug. All cops aren’t bad, but the system’s broken and corrupt.
