When I saw the Asian Le Mans Series race this Australian course, I was rather impressed with this track. The Bend is a tough and long course. I respect the challenge this course provides.
I have read in a magazine about a year ago, that if Sandown gets sold to build houses, the Bend could be the track that gets the pre Bathurst 500k Race. But as long as Sandown is on the calendar, (I think at least this year, next year and maybe 2020) Sandown will keeps its enduro race.
Surprising opinion since most of the drivers who raced there in Asian LMS said its beautiful to drive and they really enjoyed it. Id rather trust them than someone on the internet who never actually raced on that track.

It has some similarities to Eastern Creek, Phillip Island & Barbagallo
the island i can see, dont forget the family owners have some exotic cars,,, and would use this track also.

I hope the get that car a bit better dialled in before the race, it looked super loose
probably track conditions + setup. it would need a few good hours of constant running to clean it up a bit.

another crappy pancake track, look at circuit de algarve if you want to know how to build a modern drivers circuit
