I like the way KC tells it like it is. I've been doing paint and body work for 46 years and many times try to tell the customers what they need but they never listen. Now I don't sugarcoat anything.
Love watching u guys. It's no staggering. Real as fuck

Every industry is like this. I was in grading & landscape construction for 26yrs. Now in architectural metal & wood work. Concepts are the same, regardless of industry. Some customers think they know what's up & don't want to listen to the guy they're hiring who does it day in, day out. Hardheaded 'Pot-Stirrers' who don't listen to the 'Wisdom of Experience' always end up complicating matters and pay more in the long run. Best customers discuss their goal with the shop, then trust & allow the shop to take the best path possible to achieve that outcome.

KC has zero filter and I love it 😂. Moral of the story is it takes what it takes but you can accomplish what you set out to do without spending every dollar you have. It does explain why alot of builds never reach the paint part. Rust(patina) is cheaper 😂

I dunno why but I dig this style of video, with the microphone passing and everyone getting their turn. Don't see any other channels do this. Yall are naturals, great shop you put together.

Appreciate that. We just keep it real and mostly raw. Someone said we we're trying to be too much like a tv show but literally I show up unannounced for 2hrs with a camera and just shoot what's going on. The guys are def naturals for sure.

@@Photobombin I don't get any TV show vibes. To me it feels kinda like a fly on the wall with a really nice lens just filming everyone's vibe that day. Yall seem at ease. Good stuff!

@@JasonEdelman66 I’ve been filming in hot rod shops since 2016 so I’ve had a lot of time to learn many different aspects from custom fab work, to electrical, to bodywork and paint. The biggest thing I’ve been educated on is the cost of labor and materials and how fast it adds up.

Driving that Chevelle around the pothole landmines in the gravel...
As nice as the shop is equipped, dressed-out and kept up... why hasn't the driveway/parking lot been paved?? I'd think that'd be one of the first requirements for a high-end body shop.

This is the good and bad with car restorations. As a business owner, it's hard to get through to some customers of the cost of shop rate cost of experience and what the end project is going to cost like. As a hobbyist, and someone who has a custom car shop that builds cars for himself. It's nice when there's no rules, and you can just do it. All you want and you're just throwing it together to make a fun toy. When it's done, it's not perfect and you don't sell it as something perfect or even get rid of it when you do it for yourself, but when you're building it for a customer, there's certain things that have to be done. Which personally I think, takes the fun out of building the car? If you wanna cover a little rust up, put shiny paint on it so that it looks good for yourself and enjoy it absolutely fine. The sad part is. How many cars are being presented as fully restored or well done? And they're rust buckets covered in bondo. And some poor sap pays a ton of money for it.

We fix original vehicles where i work and we charge 130$ an hour ! Buy some metal and learn how to form it I mean the machine's do the work It's doing the customer a dis service to buy every part when you can make it or buy a patch panel to cut and make it. I work in the rust belt I feel sorry these guys actually get new part's and still can't make them work just comical by the way a break a shrinker stretcher and a body hammer 300$ AT Harbor Freight just saying and to the camera man HOW brown is the nose?
