I can't get any of this to work. I'm using the current version of Daz 4.21 and the current version of CC4... every time I get an error "No suitable character profile" when I import. This occurs even if I import a basic unaltered G8F.
Very useful. Thanks, Matt!
hi I can't find the option Merge Clothing into Figure Skeleton in daz3d 4.21 can you help thanks~
in a word EXCELLENT...as usual
Thanks again!
This is just what I needed! Thank you!
Very good tutorial however, shoes seem to be problem. Any way to import shoes with the character without throwing a error???
Reallusion customer support team are very helpful and will be more than happy to assist you with any queries regarding errors.
I'm new to DAZ3D and all, been learning a lot from your videos! But what's the actual use for CC? importing DAZ models into it seems weird if you're only going to export to something else? Better at animating than just using DAZ? I'm trying to figure out what's best to use like using blender to create objects/rooms and importing into daz to animate with my characters and render, CC looks amazing but I should probably look into iclone if they're meant to be used with each other haha. Love your videos, thanks! :D
Character creator 4 is the tool used to create actors for iClone 8 which is an animation pipeline. It's vastly superior to Daz Studio for animations and if you own the iRay render plugin, also superior for still renders too
@@GameDeveloperTraining ohh thats interesting, I'll definitely look into iclone8 and iray render!
@@GameDeveloperTraining so this poses the question (pun intended) if you have other 3D assets from Daz (environments and props) is there a good pipeline to get them I to iclone so you can work with them there, or are you basically stuck rebuilding your asset collection?
@@ChopTheViking Anything you can convert to an FBX or OBJ can be easily imported to iClone. So any environments or props that you have in Daz can be used in iClone. Although the stuff available on the iClone marketplace is pretty good already and they've barely started.
Daz 3D doesn't have n animation system like Character Creator or IClone has. So u are very limited. For those that has invested much money into Daz already, you can import a character into CC4 and use the rigs and animation system that they offer. Also, if u use CC4 characters and such, you have to worry about this fucked up liscening agreement which can be a deal breaker. So to avoid all that, it's good to use Daz characters in this case, and just use Iclode to render and do animation with Daz characters....
Hello sir
HELP
i have the Anubian Character which has fur. The Fur itself has bones> It is not just hair> please let me know how to import fur into the CC4 via transformer or as it is> the fur cannot be exported as FBX (even single selected)> I tried in blender also but no FUR found (only bones of FUR)> It exports bones only> can u plz tell me how to export FUR into FBX> so as to parent it with body later> or export FUR along with GENESIS figure> CAN U MAKE A DEDICATED VIDEO>
Basic motive to animate character in iClone then send to Unreal > I think I can send fur directly to unreal then parent with iClone character later
I shall be most thankful> With Warm Regards > Nimit Verma
I've found that exporting from DAZ with the viewport set to something other than Iray (such as wireframe) speeds up the export.
Good morning. THANKS FOR THIS TUTORIAL. ! However, it doesn't work for me because I already don't have the same export options on DAZ (I use version 4.21). When my character DAZ is in CC4, the clothes are not linked to the body. IN THE export options, I don't have the line: "
Only thing I can suggest is to make sure that you're using the binary 2012 option for FBX export in Daz
Thanks, but yes, I use that...
@@MarcArnaud-france-biographie Not much else I can suggest. Sounds like a question for Daz "customer service" good luck
Where is this daz to iclone file you mentioned first off?…there are no links or information in your description
Well first off, It's a plugin that you can get from the iClone store.
Hello GDT. I do enjoy the way you explain things. Can you tell me how to bake (burn) every single element character, hair, props, accessories) into one composite layer. I want everything in one composite FBX so nothing is left out on Mixamo> Thanks. (Im losing some hair and props)
There should be a way to export for a game engine such as Unity. I believe using that preset will include all the stuff you want. Failing that, Reallusion Customer support team are pretty good.
How do I import a M4 character from the actual Daz Studio?
Whatever I try results to this::
Failed to load character: No suitable setup profile found.
M4? As in pre-genesis? I doubt there is compatibility for that. You would have to convert it to a more recent character type.
Well explained tutorial man, but i have a problem with every daz figure that i try to import. I don't know if this is happens to me only but when i convert the daz figure with his or her hair over to cc4, the character will be extremely slow to manage. (the hair itself is the guilty) infact when i delete or muted the hair component, will be fast as always. i have a pretty good video card nvidia rtx 3050. what can i do to rid of this annoying issue? thank you
I do believe you'll need to remove the hair because it has too many bones. At least that's my guess from the top of the head. Hoping you have gained better insight since you first posted 9 months ago.
Why are there no tutorials anywhere for importing character creator 4 meshes back into Daz3D Studio? I'd love to do that with my HeadShot morphs to have in Daz3D Studio, but there's nothing anywhere. Is it possible? Please someone explain the theoretical process..... :(
You Can't. Not in the way that you want to do it. Daz studio is entry level rendering software, it doesn't have clever ways to utilise content from other platforms, largely because their entire business model revolves around Daz users spending a small fortune on content from the Daz Studio Marketplace.
Would be great if CC4 implements functionality to directly open DAZ/Poser figures, shaders, clothing etc.
Perhaps, but this is basically that with a simple step in the middle. I have a strong suspicion that Daz productions would never be willing nor competent enough to allow such corporate synergy.
@@GameDeveloperTraining Unfortunately I think your suspicion is right. DAZ Studio and Poser are practically obsolete unless they implement fast real time render previews like Unreal Engine or Character Creator 4 besides other superb features offered by these. Very good tutorial btw. Straight to the point and really helps in utilizing CC4 capabilities for DAZ content.
@@GameDeveloperTraining I can't help but speculate what might happen if Reallusion starts offering, or curating, a "digital assets" website themselves.
Good morning .
Friend, do you have any tutorial teaching how to import an animation created/customized in iclone to be applied in daz in g8 or g8.1?
I wanted to animate the g8 in iclone and import animation to daz3d.
I don't have anything like that sorry. To be honest that's kinda a backwards way of doing it. Daz studio is one of the worst apps available for animation where iClone is designed specifically for it and with iRay rendering available in iClone there is really no good reason to import anything back into daz. The less involvement Daz has in the process the better.
If I added a set of morphs to a character in Daz like the mermaid tail, how would that work with this process to get the new character (a mermaid) into CC4>Iclone?
That depends on how the mermaid morph affects the character. The way that Daz does things isn't very intuitive and arguably intentionally convoluted to make it difficult to use in other software. The best thing to do is try it out for yourself.
Like !
Thank you :)
love it
You know what would be great?
1. Save scene with DAZ character.
2. Import to CC4.
But it's nearly 2024, and these things are far and widely too difficult and complex and computer-y for developers to figure out a fucking standard of some type. Or, for that matter, something that works.
Why does every damn thing need to be so difficult and broken?
Maybe 30 more years will let them sort things out?
Daz productions would never work with another software company like that because they want people to keep using Daz. The scenes in daz don't contain any 3D data only references to content within your library, that's why you have to export as FBX. If you want to get good animations, just don't use Daz at all.
