I miss him however I`m glad he`s not here to observe 400 million snowballs rolling towards hell. Hag, hope you know how much you`re missed and thank you for all of the music that you left us with. His boys Marty, Noel, Ben and Scotty are doing a mighty fine job filling their daddy's boots and there's no mistaken when Noel & the youngest, Ben start to singing, you're hearing the legend himself. Many of our pure country music artist have gone home, leaving us with their young ones trying to fill their shoes, but Merle's boys have done better than most answering George Jones "who's going to fill their shoes".

@@nbk9372 Hi, I certainly agree that Merle`s sons are fine young men that have become very good musicians and singers in their own right. Unfortunately, their Daddy had been places both mentally and physically that afforded him painful and shameful memories that came to him in verse and rhyme and that`s why Country Music as we know it is exactly like folks like me, ran our races, saw many faces but now I just remember the sunny slopes of long ago as I attempt to remain ahead of time`s shadow, God bless you and your family and friends.

We heard Hello Darlin for the first time in the car and he looked at me in the back and said that song will go to number one as he did the first time he heard Ray Price singing Kristofferson's For the good times in 1970 in Glen Burnie, MD they were number one for many weeks. He did it with Almost Persuaded, and There goes my everything too. Daddy knew a hit when he heard it

I can remember my father walking around our house singing some of Merle’s songs We used to watch a show back in 1970’s that was called HeeHaw and Roy Clark,Buck Owens and all of the real country music singers were on this show The music they play these days is not country music It’s more like pop music and They don’t hold a candle to the real country music legends What a sad world we live in these days because real country music don’t exist anymore But as long as they play this music I will always listen to this music because it’s real music and it reminds me of my father especially Merle Haggard

Missed the "nam" while in basic training. Got out and got married and came upon my brother's albums one day. And played "Meryl " and the others, and it took me back to the first time I heard them and I listened to them everyday when MY children were coming home from school and too this day my children know his music. Although it is a very much different time. I can say that "Meryl and Jones, Tammy and the man in black lives on. It's not just the music. When I finally found him he stuck with me forever. I'm sure the same will happen to you Anna. Once this guy gets into the musical part of your brain you just can't shake him loose and that is really good. Not too many that can do that anymore...... I can tell you had a good 3 years. They were absolutely brilliant singing together, Merle had such a unique style voice that no one shall ever be able to compete against, He was phenomenal. I hope that he and Bonnie are RIP FOREVER. I agree. I've been in love with Merle since I was 3 years old. My sister had the Branded Man album when it was first released and it was IT for me. "Don't Get Married" (my name's Julie) had me doubly hooked. I don't even know how many times I've seen him live, but he NEVER disappointed.

It was simply breathtaking .I didn"t know it at the time but it was probably the best concert I have ever been to, Thank you Merle and to his band . I shall always remember his show .
