      @@AmarAlhoch yeah it really came down to the pickups - as much as I wanted to go with the M7s for the heavier percussive tone - i wanted more versatility - can't affort a ton of guitars, so rather have them all be a little more flexible than perfect for 1 thing.
      can't put it down now, just experimenting with tunings and tones :D

    I am convinced of one thing, you are a phenomenal musician! To elaborate a little, the feeling you have in this demo reminds me from a song writing perspective of early Joe Satriani with a tinge of Eric Johnson and when you take off in the high gain territory, it's reminiscent of John Petrucci. Again, phenomenal playing sir! Your other demo of this guitar convinced me to purchase not only this exact guitar your playing here, I bought a 6 string version as well. You have a new subscriber!

    I have an SLS Elite C1 that I bought second hand. I’m so confused by these pickups 🙃 is it in active mode when the knobs are pushed in? Or pulled out? To me; it sounds like they are in active mode when the knobs are pulled up, unsure if this is standard for these guitars or if previous owner swapped some wiring settings

    Great demo! I'm a Charvel guy, still very impressed, seems to be one of the best schechter models out there. Few months ago I played a used 7-string Charvel Nova (really comfortable playability & sweet tones) & was pretty tempted by the "used/pre-owned" discount haha. My own personal guitar is the joe duplantier signature tele (the cheaper model, upgraded the stock pickups), love it!! Will have to revisit this when I'm ready to take the plunge to extended range.

    • @AmarAlhoch

      I would recommend the Fishmans for more versatility. I believe the moderns are based on the 81/60 but less aggressive. And the second voice drops the output even more, making it a little more versatile. Otherwise when it comes to actives, I do prefer the EMG 57 66 with a coil tap. 🎸

    Amazing!! What is the active and pasive voice? Can you explain me please?

    • @AmarAlhoch
      @AmarAlhoch  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! The Fishmans are active pickups with voicings. So you are getting two sounds from one pickup. When you pull the volume/tone knob, it activates voice 2. Voice 1 is designed to give you more articulation and more compression. So you have more of an active pickup sound. Voice 2 is designed to be more passive sounding. It still requires a battery but the tone changes. So you have a less compressed, more open, and lower output sound. I hope that helps!

    Played one the other day at guitar center. It felt great to play, even though I'm not experienced with 7s. Not a fan of the fishmans, never have been. I had to really crank the hell out of the gain, lows and mids to get a good sound. Fishmans are way too low and mid scooped. Every guitar I've played be it a 7 or a 6 with fishmans I always have to do that. All highs and nothing else. Aside from the pickups it's a wonderful guitar.

    • @AmarAlhoch
