Schecter Banshee Mach 7 (Lundgren M7 Pickups) Demo

- The Schecter Banshee Mach 7 has to be one of the best metal guitars on the market! This guitar features a swamp ash body with an extremely comfortable maple "radius" top. It has an ultra slim roasted maple/purple heart neck with an ebony fretboard and stainless steel frets. AND It comes stock with a set of Lundgren M7 pickups!
This is a short demo I put together with some of my favorite tones that I have gotten out of this guitar. I will demonstrate more pickup positions/tones in a future video. Yes, this is a 7 string but I am primarily a lead guitarist. There are countless demos for 7 string guitars and 7 string pickups with heavy riffs all over RUclips. This video is geared more towards players like me: lead guitarists who like the extended range for melodies and occasional riffs. However, I think this video can be useful to everyone curious about the Mach 7 or Lundgren M7 pickups.

WOW that split tone on the neck pickup you're getting is out of this world. Great video
Thank you! The split coil on the Lundgren pickups is insane. Super unique! 🔥🔥
Came for the demo, got greeted by amazing playing. Subscribed!
Nice guitar! You playing is just amazing! Really enjoyed.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
The cleans in the opening segment sound amazing ! 🤯
Great demo for this magnificent guitar!!👍🤘🤘
Thank you! I appreciate you checking it out! I'm loving this thing! 🙌
Love your tone man!
Thanks man! I appreciate it! ✊
After doing a good bit of research i think this is the 7 string i've been waiting to find. thanks for your samples / playing - helped make my decision, those Lundgren M7s sound fantastic.
I'm happy I could help! The Lundgrens are amazing. And the neck profile is perfect 🔥
Blown away by your playing, man!
Thanks man! I appreciate that!
wow all those tones were killer good!
Thank you! The Lundgrens are amazing!!
Best review. No talking. Keep goin!
I appreciate it! I will definitely be keeping this format! 🤘
Dude...incredible playing, wasn't expecting all that lol
Thank you! I appreciate it! 🙏
very great sound both clean&dist
Agreed! I love both!
Great demo!
Thank you! I appreciate that! I'm thinking about doing more demos like this! Schecter SLS Elite demo is coming next! ✊
Wow! That's exactly what I've been thinking about !!!
I need one now lol great demo man
Haha thanks man! It's such a great guitar. I have another cool video coming up showcasing some more tones: rhythm and lead 🤘😏
Awesome demo
Thank you! I really appreciate that! I enjoyed doing this so I'm really excited to do more content like this! 🤘
I’d kill for this to be 28inch+ scale or a 6 string baritone scale version.. beautiful guitar none the less and you shred homie !
I’m sure Schecter would be more than happy to build you a custom-made one.
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Your playing is so inspiring.
Thank you! 🙌🙏
Great sound! 😱😱
Thank you! I like it oh so very much!! 😄
Love your playing bro, absolutely beautiful. I have the floyd rose sustainiac version and Im in love.
Thanks bro! I appreciate it! It's such a great guitar. Sometimes I wish mine had the FR as well but I needed to get a hard tail this time around. 🤘
Man you sold me on that crunch tone. Your playing is so insane! Time to save up haha
Thank you! I appreciate that! I'm in love with the crunch tone haha! Feel free to check out my latest video for some more awesome tones!!

@@mrpuddlz1330 Thank you! It means a lot! 🙏
Beautiful sound
Thank you!
great lead tones
Thank you! 🙌
Amazing
Thank you!
I have the Evertune model, it's amazing. The M7's are super good sounding, and I typically like active pickups!
I know what you mean by that! The M7s are super hot and articulate so us active lovers find ourselves enjoying them a lot. Hot and articulate with the fullness of a passive!
@@AmarAlhoch yeah it’s great for my style of rhythm
Awesome mate 👍🏻
Thanks man! I appreciate that! 🙌
Oh man this is so good. Im thinking about this one in a 6
I haven't played the 6 but I imagine it is just as amazing! Top specs, for real!!
The kind of review I want.
Sweet sounding guitar.
Absolutely! I love the Lundgrens!
That low gain riffing was so pleasing
Thank you!
Getting this same guitar but with a Floyd rose. I heard it ships with 011 string gauge. Did you have any problems changing Strings? I use 09 strings. Any advise ?
I believe mine came with 9s. No issues using 9s here. 🤘
@@AmarAlhoch hey thanks so much for the answer 🤘
Sounds like you're liking those high output passives :) Great Sustain! I wonder if FRs mess with 7 strings in terms of bending. It's takes a lot more force, atleast in my setup
I'm loving them! The sustain is better than my Fishmans but that may be due to the hard tail. Interesting.. A Floyd Rose usually makes bending a little easier. You may have to bend higher to get the same pitch though. If you look closely you'll see the bridge moving as you bend. It decreases the tension but again, it forces you to bend a tad bit further. 🤔
I own the same guitar with a FR-S config. Bending isn't an issue.
Gives the movie “The Crow” vibes. You’ll know when the gain hits.
Those Lundgren pickups sound amazing man! What was the price on that guitar? Great specs and coming with stainless steel frets is killer. Great playing as always man
Thanks man! This goes for $1600 new so a bit on the pricey side for schecter but I did get a pretty awesome deal on it!
Wow great playing and nice tones too..what kind of amp and effect is this in axe fx II?
Beautiful. Currently waiting for my C7 SLS Elite but already thinking about pulling the trigger on this one as well for some more mellow stuff.
What tuning are you playing in?
I have both and I love both! The Fishmans sound great for mellow stuff as well. They're very versatile. I'm playing in B flat here
My M7C should be here next week 😍
That's exciting!! 😍🤘
I've been looking at the C-7 SLS Elite vs the Banshee Elite-7 and I'm having a super tough time choosing. Do I wait the two weeks and get the C-7 for the active Fishman pickups or is the Banshee worth it?
I would wait and get the C7. They're practically the same guitar with the specs. The only differences are the body shape and the pickups. I personally love the Fishmans and my SlS Elite. I can not see myself ever selling that guitar!
Hey Amar, thanks for another video of this guitar/pickups. I just love your Banshee tone, especially the clean/low-gain tone.
I see that you have other guitars with Fishman pickups. So here is the story, I'm in between the Schecter KM7 MK-III and the Banshee 7 Evertune. I love everything in the banshee but I prefer the MK-iii looks. It is a bit more expensive but it seems more premium for the price.
Do you think I can achieve a similar guitar tone (0:34, and 1:22) with the Fishman Fluence Keith Merrow (it sounds very similar to the Fluence Modern)?
Hi there! I just saw your comment! Sorry. But I would say the Fishmans don't get that single coil spank you are hearing in the Lundgrens. The Lundgrens are super hot which I think contributes a lot to this sound when in coil split mode. Having said that, I would choose my Fishman Moderns for their humbucker sound. But it sure would be awesome to have a coil split like that from the Fishmans! 🔥😳
Thanks for your reply! I ended up buying the KM7 MK3. But honestly, all the tones on the video, including high gain are my dream tone. If I was some kind of guitar hero out there (haha) I would be using very very very similar to what you showed here. So amazing. Thanks for all the replies. You helped me a lot!
This is the best guitar I've ever played and the 7 is even smoother than the 6. I'm sooo getting one. Bending the strings and doing vibratos are effortless on this guitar. Such a smooth, easy fretboard.
It's a solid guitar! Seriously, the specs are perfect. And you are so right! The neck profile is something special. It's unlike any neck I have ever played!
@@AmarAlhoch yes, I'm really enjoying mine. I just received a message about winning a prize?
Geez, great playing!
I am seriously considering buying the Banshee Mach 6 but there is only ONE thing that makes me hesitate: the X size jumbo frets. I am used to the Ibanez RG jumbos and those X frets must be massive! I have read mixed opinions about those. How do they feel coming from jumbo size frets? Do you see any cons or they just feel fine?
Thanks for the demo and keep up the good work :)
Thank you! 🙌
I personally love bigger frets. The less of the fretboard I can feel the better. Everything feels smoother to me that way. There's less friction. So to me they feel fine 👌
New video: SCHECTER SHOOTOUT with more tones including rhythm!
Clean: 00:00
Clean coil tap: 00:33
Low-gain Coil Tap: 01:22
High-gain: 02:40
I'm thinking of buying the 6 string version of this guitar; what were your overall thoughts on it, if you don't mind sharing them please?
@@johnamcclintock1 It's an amazing guitar all around! The pickups are very hot so that is something to keep in mind. But they are very versatile as you see here. I am loving the tones I am getting out of them. I personally love high output pickups. I also love the super thin body and the ultra thin u neck. Schecter designed the perfect neck on this guitar. This is the best neck profile that I have played. There is something really special about it! I honestly have no complaints about this guitar. It was put together and specced out perfectly!
@@AmarAlhoch I've played a guitar with Fishman Fluences (C-1 SLS Elite which, from memory, had the same neck on it) but, simply put, can't be bothered with active pickups because of the batteries. I love and mostly play metal but every demo I've seen of this guitar it sounds like it cleans up really nicely too. At around this price point I really haven't seen anything that appears to come close in terms of specs and I love the finish too.
@@johnamcclintock1 I also have the SLS Elite. The neck on that is an ultra thin C. This one is an ultra thin U. Both are 19-20mm but the thin U on the Banshee feels better to me. The SLS feels great too but I'm telling you, there's something special about this thin U that Schecter put on this guitar! These pickups are just as articulate as the Fishmans. Not as tight but more open. I love both!
And yeah, Schecter seems to always win when it comes to the price! ✊
@@AmarAlhoch think you have pretty much tipped me over the line with your comments. It's very unlikely any other manufacturer will come up with something as good as this model at the same price point this year... even down to things I may not need like the carbon rods in the neck plays a factor when comparing to others...
at 0:49 the audio and video de-sync. this happened on the Schecter tone comparison video too, and it messes with my head a little bit because im trying to figure out what guitar I want to buy. I just wish they had the Floyd on the HH model instead of strictly sustainiac
Sorry about that! And I'm with you, I would have preferred the FR model without the sustainiac 👌
Awesome tones! Have you had any experience with the Lundgren Black Heaven by chance? Deciding between M8 and BH right now myself.
Thank you. I have not tried the black heaven. I was curious about them as well some months ago!
Great video! i have been contemplating this guitar for a while now and i think it's time to just get it. One question. What are your thought on the Evertune bridge vs the hardtail on this guitar?
I'm sure you'll love it! I've never played an evertune. But I imagine the evertune would be pretty awesome for rhythm playing. Hitting those strings as hard as you want without them going sharp. I would think that allows you to use lighter gauges without problems. Again I've never tried one but just some thoughts.
If you record the evertune is 100% the way to go.
สุดยอด ชอบมากครับ my idol.
Hi i want ask you my friend about the guitar if the bridge stays on tune ? And do you recommend this 7 strings guitar if i want to buy and thank you
I highly recommend this guitar! It has my favorite neck of any guitar I have played. It is very lightweight and has some of the best specs all around. The tuning stability is very good. I haven't had any issues with that. The bridge is very nice and stable. 👌
Had a schecter KM7 3 swapped out the stock for lundgren and that was the best guitar ever. Question. Hows this compare to a KM? There one of the best I've played kinda worried the banshee might be too chunky
I haven't played the KM7 but I believe it's similar to the SLS series. The Banshee is a very thin body with a radius top. I prefer an arch, bevel, or cutout for my forearm. So although the SLS is thicker, I find it a little more comfortable. The neck on the Banshee however is incredible
Whats the profile of the neck? Like a wizard? I have an Agile 725 Septor and it felt thicker than a wizard profile. This guitar has been my goal guitar since it came out.
I haven't played a wizard in a while and some, not all wizards are thinner but this neck feels incredible. Way better than the Agile necks for me personally and much thinner them. The thin U that Schecter did here is perhaps my favorite neck that I have ever played. 🔥
Beautiful playing man. What amp are you using? Do these pickups run bright or more warm? I know the amp has alot to do with that
Thank you! I'm using the AXE FX. These pickups are on the brighter side. It certainly ads that note clarity but I find myself playing through darker amp models to balance it out. 🤘
Well, you definitely sold me on these pups and gained a new sub! Do you have any original music available for purchase?
Awesome! I appreciate that and I really appreciate you wanting to check out my music. My album will be dropping soon..as soon as the artwork is done. Hopefully you won't miss the announcement. Feel free to keep up on Instagram as well for announcements there. 🙌
This sold me on M7s - is the neck coil tap running the inner or the outer coil? I want to set mine up the same.
I have no idea! You may have to ask Schecter 🤔
Man, I am sold!... Currently trying to get a good deal on one just like this one, except with the fallout burst. Hoping I do get it!
Man that's awesome! I hope you get a good deal! This guitar is incredible!
@@AmarAlhoch And just like that, it´s in the bag! I did get a great deal, now it´s just a few days of waiting until I get my hands on it, can´t wait! Thanks a lot for your reviews, they really helped!
How exciting! I'd love to hear back what you think of it when it arrives! I'm glad my quick demo was helpful! 🙌
@@AmarAlhoch Sure, will let you know! I am a bit nervous on a couple things. First, the lack of arm rest, I am not sure if the contour of the body will be comfortable enough for me. The second thing is that I see wild variation in the tops, some are like yours, with deep figuring, beautiful flaming, while others seem a bit washed out. Hope I get lucky!
Yeah, I always love having a forearm contour. This guitar is actually quite thin and the part where your forearm comes in is even thinner so you may find it alright. 👌 I've seen 3 in person so far and they all looked great. Actually, lighting really affects how this guitar looks. The ones that you are seeing all washed out were probably in poor lighting. Different lighting really impacts how this guitar appears. It's pretty amazing in my opinion!
cool, but it would be cool to hear some chugs :D
Hey Amar! I hope you are doing well! :) One question! The clean part, did you compose it? Which key is that part?
Hi there! Yes, i composed it in B minor. I may be tuned half a step down here though. 🙂
Sold me on purchasing one of these! Also any tips on getting picking speed up to your levels? 😅
That is awesome to hear! I am sure you are going to love it! 🙌 My approach to picking focuses a lot on controlling tension and economy of motion. Are you on Instagram by any chance? I do guitar tips in my stories. You can find many of my past guitar tips in the story highlights. Look for the one titled "picking hand". You might find a few helpful videos there. 👌
@@AmarAlhoch I actually discovered you on Instagram! I’ll be sure to check it out cause my picking speed sucks lol
Ah gotcha! Haha I hope it helps. Once I'm through with my EP, I hope to dedicate the rest of the year to lesson content which I am going to try to make affordable for everyone, everywhere! 😃🙌
@@AmarAlhoch yes please do that!!! 🥳
how come no splits and cleans on the bridge? are they no good?
Check out my comparison between the banshee mach 7 and SLS elite. I believe I used the split bridge there on the cleans at the end. I'm not too sure but I think I did. 🤔
You just jamming here in this vid? I love the composition, if it's on a record somewhere I'd love to add it to the playlist
Thank you! This was just some jamming. But my music is available on all platforms. 🙌
Man your playing is amazing!!! Do you give online guitar lessons?
Thank you! And I sure do! You can contact me on Instagram if you'd like to discuss lessons. My IG is in the description 🙌
Incerdible sound! Could you please share the Axe preset?
I'm hoping to have my presets on a website hopefully later this year at a super low price. ✌️
Please let me know when it happens.
I'll try to remember. Are you on Instagram? You can follow me there to keep up (link in description). I announce everything there. I don't think I have the text post feature on RUclips yet. 🤔
how's the neck profile on it (awesome playing btw) what would you compare it to?
Thank you! I absolutely love the neck profile! I wasn't sure if I would at first considering I've always preferred a C neck but this thin U might be my favorite neck I have ever played. The U profile isn't very noticeable honestly but it feels so good in my hand. It feels just right. I can't explain it too well but I've heard others praising the neck as well. Whatever Schecter did with this ultra thin U profile, they did it right!
I'm not sure what to compare it to but my initial response was that it felt as comfortable as a prestige wizard neck that I played many years ago. And if it helps, it feels NOTHING like the LTD I necks I've played in the past (I wasn't a fan of those).
I have a Schecter C7 SLS Elite as well. Both necks measure 19-20 mm and the same width. The SLS is an ultra thin C and this is an Ultra thin U. Despite the measurements being equal, the neck on this Banshee feels smaller and thinner. How? I don't know 🤷♂️
@@AmarAlhoch speaking of the c7 how do you like this compared to it because I’ve been looking at both of them and I need to know which one or pick
@@krispayy6076 i have the c7 and i love it :)
I honestly love both and I find myself going back and forth between the two all the time. Although I prefer the neck and the lighter weight on the Banshee, it's the different tones between them that has me going back and forth. The Fishmans and Lundgrens both sound great but different. Sometimes I want the open passive sound and other times I want the tight active sound. Both are very articulate and quite hot.
I have a comparison demo/shootout between the two guitars coming up soon. Hopefully on June 11 if I can get it done by then. But no later than June 18.
Incredible! What is the tuning?
Thank you! This is half a step down 👍
That tone tho! Any plans to release it?
I'm so obsessed with that low gain tone haha! Yes, I do plan on releasing it later this year when I have a website going. Feel free to keep up on Instagram for these sort of announcements! 🙌
@@AmarAlhoch Most definitely!
Gonna shut my thoughts up.
Though I am faster, this is beautifull. ❤
Thank you! 🙌
@@AmarAlhoch truly beautifull.
I once woke up with a cramp in my right picking hand. So tired from playing I went back to sleep. This cramp lasted for three and a half days. ggs
Oh dang!! That sounds painful!
These pickups vs fishmans in sls elite or vs emgs in hellraiser? Winner?
I love them all. If I could only have one though I'd choose Fishmans. Although I prefer the neck on this guitar. It's the best neck I have ever played!
@@AmarAlhoch love to hear it, thanks for the feesback!
Also wanted to ask if you don't mind, I've been playing for a long time now and am wanting to be able to get into shredding. How did you get to the level you're at? Sorry, kind of a long generic question lol
Haha yeah that's a long answer. Overall my approach is low tension and economy of motion. The speed comes as a result of that. I have a lot of guitar tips on my Instagram. Feel free to look through those. Maybe some will be relevant to you. 😃🙌
What do chords and chugging sound like with the Lundgrens? They seem to have a pretty "open" sound to them, but do they get muddy?
The openness makes them sound huge when it comes to chords and chugging. They sound massive! By no means muddy. Also they have good note separation and clarity!
I have this awesome guitar but with the Sustaniac in the neck. I find the M7 (bridge) dark and not so defined (which contrasts a lot with the single-coilish sound of the sustaniac). The cleans are quite nice (thou dark), but in hi-gain territory I very much prefer the definition and balls of my blackouts-loaded Schecter Blackjack. If I try an educated guess, I woud say that the M7 has a resonant peak somewhere in the mid-low frequency range that starts saturating before the rest of the spectrum, thus producing harmonics that mix over the rest of the signal in a way that makes it a bit muddy. It does not sound bad, just not ideal for me. A lot of people like the M7 very much, so I guess it's quite subjective. I actually ordered a set of Bare Knuckles for replacing the pickups of my Banshee Mach 7, which in every other aspect its hell of a well crafted, spec'd out, instrument.
Yeah, everyone seems to hear them differently. I just posted a video today with plenty of chugs and riffs throughout. I find the Fishman Moderns in my SLS tighter but I still love the fullness of the Lundgrens. Maybe what one hears as muddy, another hears as full. Also I find the Lundgrens on the bright side haha. So it's subjective as you said. It depend a lot on the sound you are after. But feel free to check out my Schecter Shootout video for some rhythm tones! 🤘
I take it subtly is not your strong-suit?
I can't get a good tone out if mine. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. If anyone is in Korea and they want to buy let me know.
It may not be the one for you. The pickups are very hot and bright which can make them harsh. Make sure your amp, cab, etc. Is dialed to be warmer!
Does this guitar do any riffing? Can’t tell with all the noodling
Every guitar can be used to play riffs on. I hope that helps!
Unreal. Fuck you. Amazing
😅
How do you have that much sustain??, my guitar does not have that much sustain
These pickups have a ton of sustain. I'm sure the big hard tail bridge helps with that as well.👌
@@AmarAlhoch wow thanks man
