Thank you for following up and addressing this excessive fruit juicing issue. It was devastating to see well intentioned people sabotaging their health. You're a man of your word.
It isn't just what you eat, it's also how and when you eat. If you eat your carbs in the morning you'll have the whole day to lower your blood sugar before sleep. But it you eat your carbs at night you won't exercise after and your blood sugar will be high for long periods of time, causing insulin resistance. There are papers about it.
The health benefits of watermelon are out of this world. I really don't think all fruit should be lumped into the same category. Some have tremendous health benefits that would out weigh that 80/20 rule.
I would agree that not all fruit is created equal. That being said, based on my personal experience of juicing for 29 years and the published studies, I recommend limiting the amount of sweet fruit juice (no matter the fruit) for better health outcomes in the long run. For sure short term, drinking watermelon juice is better than eating fast food, soda, chips, etc since it is moving your diet to a healthier direction, but I would NEVER agree that watermelon juice is healthier than a mixed green juice with celery, kale, ashitaba, moringa, and lettuce, which is a juice I drink on a regular basis. Of course the watermelon juice will probably taste better to most people.
Wow John this video found me at just the right moment where I am trying to turn around before I head too far down the wrong road, healthwise. Thank you for compiling the information and for staying active all these years. By the way I am still happily using the juicer I bought from your store 12 years ago! 😁
Personally I think if you're doing fruit like watermelon or papaya or even for me pineapple it tastes so great that leaving the pulp in won't take away from the enjoyment of the juice at all, of course the consistency would be more like a smoothie but it's easier to use than a juicer in terms of cleanup time.
Hi John how are you, I want to buy Nama J2, But The juice in which it is made very useful And healthy? Especially in orange and apples and berry. And Do you recommend it to me? I think you said that the juice made in the Nama j2 releases the vitamins from the juice is that correct? And What do you think of the Sorbet Nama Attachment? when you make sorbet in it and What is your opinion on the difference between the juice benefit in Nama j2 compared to Denapro blender? Excuse me for so many questions 🌷
Hello. I recommend juicing leafy green vegetables, vegetables and root vegetables in the Nama J2. Many people also juice fruits in the Nama J2. The Nama J2 is a slow, cold press juicer, so it makes a good quality juice with little oxidation compared to a high speed juicer. That being said if you want to process apple, orange and berry, I would recommend VACUUM BLENDING them (or eating them whole) to keep the fiber intact, which would be better for long term health in my opinion. I like the Nama J2 sorbet attachment. I recently made an ACAI bowl in it. See ruclips.net/video/RYSSfu8UWag/видео.html That being said there are juicers that make BETTER sorbet than the J2 see ruclips.net/video/Lwv5omG4JjI/видео.html My personal belief is that the Dynapro DPS-2250 vacuum blender when coupled with Alexa's bags is more useful than the Nama J2 since you can juice with the vacuum blender as well as make smoothies. Furthermore the juice will be more nutritious and the most yield. Watch ruclips.net/video/7ILENcNpVOw/видео.html
I still question if this study can conclusively determine the effect of fruit juice on cancer risk, though. The study points to a major weakness that it admits: "Fifth, dietary exposure is prone to be correlated with other potentially confounding factors, however, among eligible studies, there was a lack of adequate adjustment for potential confounders (such as adjustment of other beverages, BMI, alcohol consumption, aspirin use, or socioeconomic status, et al.), which is a major source of potential bias." So... they could have had obese alcoholics in the study who marked that they drank fruit juice and that now becomes the "fruit juice" data because they checked it on their survey. In addition, I was very curious to know what kind of 100% fruit juice. Tropicana orange juice is not the same thing as fresh orange juice, but both are technically "100% juice." The studies don't make that distinction. I also found it amusing that while 100% fruit juice seemed to have these increased cancer risks across various types like pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer, soda was only found to have an increased risk for hepatocellular. I'm sorry but that just lacks common sense on every level. So, I take issue with the study for these things alone. I was curious if I could figure out these answers in the individual studies re: methodology and types of fruit juice, etc, and didn't have much luck. For instance, the Michaud study shows "fruit juice" and "bladder cancer." Upon clicking for that info, its premise had to do with increased hydration and its inverse risk of cancer. The Mueler study for pancreatic cancer found inconclusive results for the 4 studies it cites on fruit juice. The Arthur study pertaining to breast and ovarian cancer, unfortunately the full methodology and study itself wasn't published to delve into. At the end of the day, on Table 3, the certainty for fruit juice is clearly marked, "low certainty."
While no study is perfect, and can't be 100% sure about anything, these days I tend to live more CAUTIOUSLY than RECKLESSLY (when I was younger) There is little upside to drinking fruit juice, so why risk the negative health outcome from drinking it? when it can be enjoyed whole (best) or vacuum blended (still not as good as whole), IMO.
@@discountjuicers I don't disagree... I follow the 80-20 rule for juicing and prefer to eat my fruits as well. But I'm also not going to think that raw vegans juicing all sweet fruits are setting themselves up for cancer.

I will come back and watch the video!!! I don’t juice for health reasons because I love fruits in my juice and liquor. LOL
Just goes to show that people overall just tend to really love their sugar in general and have a hard time moderating that love. I guess I'm lucky in that I'm much more of a salt lover than sugar lover, tho I do love fruits. I don't really juice them however, I eat them. 48 ounces of fresh juiced vegetable juice, followed by a bucket of fried chicken, then a few cantaloupe slices for dessert 😂 Btw John I bought the Sana 727 juicer because of your comparisons and reviews, and I couldn't be happier, it's a dream vegetable juicing machine, especially leafy greens.
It looks good. Its not out in the USA yet. It will likely have similar power to the 727 (they share the same motor) the ONLY upside is the all stainless steel, if you are concerned with plastic contact of your produce, but then its 2.5x the price(!) I wish it costs less

Hey John- Do you have more info on the “food matrix”, and changing it when juicing or blending? I’m familiar with oxidation when cutting, blending/juicing, but that term is new to me.
This is mentioned in studies and new "emerging" science. Food is complex. For this reason, I recommend eating and processing foods in different ways which will disturb the food matrix in different ways, each of which have its benefits and drawbacks. At present time, I recommend: chewing (most important), vacuum blending, slow juicing, and pressure cooking as ways to disturb the food matrix to make nutrients more available.
Hey John, when will you review the new version of the omega twin gear that you showed from the trade show? And do you know when they will be releasing those new vertical designs that have the metal cutting blades?
On the Omega Twin Gear, watch: ruclips.net/video/RXpn3EaJo-w/видео.html It was discontinued and brought back with little change. I dont expect performance or (issues) to change much with it. No idea on when the other models will be released.
@@Abbbb225 nope, same design, only a "whole" in the auger to make feeding carrots and celery easier, this may reduce yield however, since there is now less grinding area on the smaller gears. I also saw issues with the gears wearing the plastic housing on that model.
Even if adding more pulp into the fruit juice, the issue is that the sugar and fiber are separated out of the food matrix, that is likely to make a difference.
The Sana 848 is an older model. See my review at ruclips.net/video/VjNg6JtmqmU/видео.html It appears they are selling them below wholesale, which makes it an amazing deal.
That is on my to-do list. Each have their own pros and cons. I like the h310 because its smaller and easier to clean, the J3 is more robust and larger and has a much longer warranty.
I discuss the entire void system including the blender at: ruclips.net/video/O9dbDd84Ey4/видео.html that being said, they just came out with an upgraded model, and I hope to make a review on it soon.
I do like the Nama C2, It has the same juicing capabilities of the Nama J2, and its a bit taller, which I like. I am not the biggest fan of the blender since they dont have an attachment to do vacuum blending, and I only vacuum blend these days. Fruit is what frugivores like. 😅 I realize and have felt the difference between green juice and fruit juice . So for me it 80%fruit and 20% greens. I believe most of us are addicted to sweets even if it’s fruit only. I do realize green juices are a longevity support. So for youthful looks greens are the not so secret , secret! It takes a strong mindset to switch the ratio. Then again I wonder why God created so much fruit varieties and all the fruit trees are so abundant for a reason. To your point of The big feared C word. My belief there is if one has cleaned up their lifestyle and done body system cleanses The triggers for switching in those cells is of lower risk. In my mind all studies are flawed due to our minds can manipulate outcomes of anything. It’s a fact many push aside or consider new age woo woo. I am a believer that we are not taught how powerful our minds are and there for society will not believe in it. Intention with my food is key for me. As long as I have greens in my life and bring the balance to 50/50 then I’ll be on the best trajectory for good health for my body. At almost 60 times around sun I’m in better shape than most my age bracket. Went WFPB SOS free 17 yrs ago and keep striving to do better each and every day. Implementing great advice from many like you John! Would love to meet one day. Best of health to all! Aloha🙏🤙😎💖🌺
Bibical fruits had less sugar. They were tart. My dad born 1900 and he was s farmer. I still remembered the taste of fruits in the 60s from.our farm. They were a balance of tart and sweet with seeds. Not like these fruits that are sugar bombs today
Juicing is such an incredible waste of fruits and vegetables. I purchased a juicer and even with all the juice it made I saw all the fiber and good stuff.
That is one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that when you juice VEGETABLES such as leafy greens and roots, you get better ABSORPTION of the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients than eating them whole, so you can drastically increase a persons nutrition levels in their blood faster and more quickly, so to me, this is essential in this day and age when most food has lower nutrition due to soil degradation.
I disagree with that. I juice 95% all fruits and I've lost nearly 40 pounds on a fruit fast and nearly 100 pounds overall with no blood sugar spikes and my blood pressure has returned to normal.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. While I agree that SHORT term fruit juice interventions can be beneficial (such as in your case to lose weight, etc ), since it is probably a lot healthier than what you were doing, I believe a fruit and vegetable juice intervention would be more beneficial. That being said. I do not recommend keeping up your fruit juice habit LONG term, which is what this study is discussing and my LONG term (29 years) of juicing and eating more fruits than I think I should have.
I believe juicing carrots and beets are much healthier than juicing sweet fruits, I recommend juicing them with other things like leafy greens, celery, cabbage, etc.

@@Abbbb225 nope, same design, only a "whole" in the auger to make feeding carrots and celery easier, this may reduce yield however, since there is now less grinding area on the smaller gears. I also saw issues with the gears wearing the plastic housing on that model.
Do you count carrots in the 80% veg part of the 20% sweet part? I'm putting around 1/3 green juice with 2/3 apple juice recently.
I count carrots in the veg part. I encourage people to juice purple carrots, and colored carrots other than orange (the standard color)
Just buy a juicer that adds more pulp or use an attachment that creates more pulp
Even if adding more pulp into the fruit juice, the issue is that the sugar and fiber are separated out of the food matrix, that is likely to make a difference.
Jonh what do you think about new Sana 848? Thank you
The Sana 848 is an older model. See my review at ruclips.net/video/VjNg6JtmqmU/видео.html It appears they are selling them below wholesale, which makes it an amazing deal.
@@discountjuicers thank you! 🙏🏼
Hey bud, I purchased a Nama j2 from you a year ago and really interested in the oversize Hopper. can't find it on Nama's website though. Help pls!
No Worries, its at namawell.com/collections/accessories?ref=discountjuicers apply coupon ADDONS10 for a 10% discount on your accessories purchase!
Didn't know🥕's had sugar in them. Thank you for your help.
John: might you consider comparing travel-friendly Nama J3 to Hurom H310?
That is on my to-do list. Each have their own pros and cons. I like the h310 because its smaller and easier to clean, the J3 is more robust and larger and has a much longer warranty.
Have you reviewed the VOID BLENDER?
I discuss the entire void system including the blender at: ruclips.net/video/O9dbDd84Ey4/видео.html that being said, they just came out with an upgraded model, and I hope to make a review on it soon.
Can review Buchymix juicer which claims to be the best juicer in the world
It looks like to me that is an inexpensive juicer made in China. I highly doubt it is the best juicer in the world, but I have not tested.
So what’s your take on the Nama c2
I do like the Nama C2, It has the same juicing capabilities of the Nama J2, and its a bit taller, which I like. I am not the biggest fan of the blender since they dont have an attachment to do vacuum blending, and I only vacuum blend these days. Please watch ruclips.net/video/sOcStqMoVHA/видео.html for my full review and ruclips.net/video/-FFGKIoTIuM/видео.html for my full comparison vs the J2 and c2
What happened to his farm/orchard in Puerto rico?
What about blending
Fruit is what frugivores like. 😅
I realize and have felt the difference between green juice and fruit juice .
My belief there is if one has cleaned up their lifestyle and done body system cleanses
The triggers for switching in those cells is of lower risk.
Too much knowledge is detrimental thing for your health ;)
How about juicing carrots and beets
I believe juicing carrots and beets are much healthier than juicing sweet fruits, I recommend juicing them with other things like leafy greens, celery, cabbage, etc.
