How people treat animals is a good way to know how they'll treat your kids. It's such a common indicator of character that the sociopaths are known to mimic it to blend in.
The mom in the traveling story sounds like she might have the beginning stages of dementia. That’s the way my grandmother was when she started having dementia.
Not necessarily, it sounds like that’s her MO, I’ve definitely met ppl like that of all ages, it might not be purposefully malicious and complete ignorance.
I agree.. it definitely would be worth checking it out. My grandma was always a quirky person but when she started doing things that were very odd and upsetting to others I suggested it might be a sign. But everyone else brushed it off as her being her. I didn’t want to be right.. but sadly it took a very dangerous situation for her to get diagnosed.
*Story 2: CatAstrophy -* OP should kick the new guy out of her house asap. First, her daughter’s cat was manhandled + abandoned, next it’ll be her daughter he mistreats. Bye bye, new guy.
Story 3: while she has always been immature, at 71 she is showing signs of dementia. Its not just irresponsible or malicious. She is wandering, making unsafe desicions and forgetting health issues and meds.
I'm worried about OP #3. 😫 It concerns me the amount of miniscule things she's holding over her mom's head. It feels like she's very much sabotaging the relationship.
That girlfriend in the last story is very dangerous and straight up psychotic. I can cheat, you can’t. I can throw weapons at you, but you are the one who is wrong. She sounds very dangerous and narcissistic, and seems that her parents have raised her as a golden child who is never at fault. Seems like toxicity runs in the family. That “Our baby doesn’t belong in jail” comment was all I needed to hear.
24:22 while I agree, he accepted the risks with making the cake or trying to re-create it. I feel like she was being a B when she spit it out onto the plate I feel like that’s a bit excessive.
I also have very picky tendencies when it comes to food . If something is a flavor or texture that I cannot stand I will literally throw up and lose my whole appetite. Not everyone can just pain through it.
What I'm stuck on is him wanting so badly to recreate a cake the her ex made. That's weird to me. Like he wanted to outdo an ex that isn't even around anymore.
I think since the mom has always been "childlike" that she was probably traumatized as a child and is kinda stuck emotionally being a child that was in a situation where the adults failed to protect you can sometimes either lead to hyper independence or hyper dependency
$5 says grandma and sister will call that baby boy by his middle name, like it or not. Children should never be saddled with a name from a dead child. It’s too much pressure on them.
I'm a decent cook, but a subpar baker. I can follow a recipe, but I would never be able to craft my own. Knowing this about myself, I would never try to do what OP's boyfriend did, let alone get mad when it fell flat. That said, I can cook a mean chicken and rice, and I would focus on that as my strength, unstead of trying to beat someone elses strengths.
The middle name thing is fucked up, just add Phillip. My son's middle name is horrible because of naming conventions lol, but its his name and I love it.
Dusty needs to double check the stories when he goes to give feedback 😂 In at least two stories (4&5), he misgenders OP by the time he gets thru the story and to the feedback section.

op of story 4 just sounds autistic imo (not saying they are but that the pov of always being honest but not unappreciative is relateable and not always accepted (plus the very specific foods)). that is exactly how i would respond. try it, dont force myself to swallow it if i dont like it, and let my partner know i appreciate the effort but i cant lie about it. and notably, when i try to force myself to eat something i don't like, i literally gag. i may manage a few small pieces before i do, but it is not a choice. and often it's not the flavor but the texture though it can be hard to tell in the moment.

Husband getting diseases and not telling her is cruel

I think it’s adorable that you introduced her like that, you’re such a big fan of your wife! But it’s her opinion that matters, sooooo maybe don’t.
Story 2 that cat may have just saved that family from years of abuse from that asshole.
Story 1: dude wasn’t getting anything emotional, but he brought back a passenger

If you can’t do something g when your 40, why expect yourself to be able to do it at 50. And so on

Sometimes being humiliated is the best way. Call g him out as a liar and animal abuser! Great! Red flag
Imagine how hard it’s going to be to come to compromising as the young girl gets older with boys are friends over 🤦♀️

It’s not the rent; it’s her lack of parenting

I think it's awesome u introduce her like that also op not ah husband definitely is
Id kill to only have the pay 300 in rent.😂 i dont think hes the a hole
You could always have two middle names
Call DCF

She needs to find out what he exp to change
In the first story, I think ops depression stems from being with such a selfish human being. Leave him and her mental state will improve
Story 4: I don’t know if Dusty missed it, but OP was a man, not a woman. No hate in this comment.

Yeah. I need to work on that. There's a lot going on during these live sessions, but I just need to improve.

Story 4 - i’m sure it’s an unintentional mistake but OP is also a dude.
Men make the stupid comment
