This was so great! I’m 38 weeks with a ton of feet/leg swelling and I gained a whopping 9 pounds in 8 days. So I was freaking out. My midwife isn’t concerned about preeclampsia because my BP was good and I’m having no other symptoms so we are working on my food intake/walking more. But when she said no protein in my urine is good- I didn’t know why that mattered- so thank you for going into detail on that!! And also she said to call if I had pain under my right arm and pointed to the area you described but you explained the meaning which I greatly appreciate. Love your material. I watch your videos every day :)

Delivered my baby yesterday at 41 weeks with an emergency c section due to a pre eclampsia that was never diagnosed throughout my otherwise easy pregnancy. Never had any symptoms. Baffles me how my midwife missed any signs of protein in my urine samples or maybe saw it and thought it was due to something else. I’m still to find out what went wrong. My little boy struggled but survived! Thanks for the video, looking forward to part 2!

Perfect timing on this video! I am 90% sure they’re going to diagnose me with pre-eclampsia next week. Last week they found protein in my urine but my blood pressure wasn’t high enough. I have been monitoring at home and today I hit the ‘magic’ number of 140/90 three times a few hours apart. No other symptoms yet but I am only 30 weeks so I am not ready for this baby to come! I really hope there are things they can do to help me stay pregnant longer. Really looking to your next video to learn more.
Thank you so much for all you do! Your videos helped arm me with knowledge so when my first pregnancy ended with a surprise induction at 38 weeks I wasn’t as nervous because I knew what to expect.

@@1bluegreen2Everything was fine with that pregnancy actually. No, preeclampsia and I made it to 39 weeks. I did end up with preeclampsia with my most recent pregnancy and had to deliver at 37 weeks. Labor and recovery were rough; it took weeks for my blood pressure to settle down. But I had a healthy baby and that’s the most important thing.

I was healthy through out my pregnancy, my final visit to my OB (week 38) my Bp was slightly elevated but I felt fine. Shortly after having my baby I developed postpartum preeclampsia. I wasn’t aware of it coming after delivery I’ve only heard about it during pregnancy. A day after coming home with the baby I was in the ER, My bp was 189/92, That was the worst headache I’ve ever had, vision was blurry and I was in pain from the stitches. So glad that past and I am healthy again. She’s 8 weeks now. I still get occasional headaches, but it’s manageable. My prayers to all pregnant women, wishing you a safe, healthy pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum.

Dr took me off bp meds weeks ago however recently bp started spiking up again. Even when I am hydrated. I have added beets, bananas and spinach (will soon add garlic) into my daily diet. It helps reduce bp (I’d prefer that to ever taking bp meds again). Also taking Mg supplements too.

I had preeclampsia that showed itself at 39 weeks. I didn't want to be induced (wanted to labor at home as long possible especially since this was May 2020) but I knew it was safer to deliver at that point. My blood pressure was better for two days post op (ended in a c section, I also didn't want that but it happened), then on day of discharge it went up again to 140 over 91. They sent me home with no medication. A few days later I went back to my OB after having a terrible migraine and my BP was 153 over 100. It makes me angry now knowing i should have been watched closer especially the day I was discharged but luckily a year later I'm doing well. It took about 6 to 7 weeks post partum for my blood pressure to become normal again.

Can you please do a video on D-MER. It’s something I had with baby #1, thinking it was PPD and not knowing what it was until over 6 months after I quit breastfeeding because of it. It seems to be very unheard of, my doctor had never heard of it either. If I had only known what it was it could have completely changed the outcome of my breastfeeding journey and also my relationship with breastfeeding. You have such an amazing platform and that video could be life changing for many people.

With my first son I had high blood pressure readings every time that I went into the office, never showed any symptoms, always had normal blood pressure when I took it at home but to be safe I was induced at 40 weeks. I’m on baby number 2 and the same thing is happening, high blood pressure readings at the office but everything else is normal, 24 hour urine test & blood work came back fine and no symptoms so I’m wondering if I just have “white coat anxiety”. Well now I'm 36 ½ weeks with my second & my blood pressure has just now started to creep up. At my last appointment (3 days ago) it was 130/100 but my urine was proteinless. & now I'm doing a 24 hour urine collection & have a scheduled ultrasound to check amniotic fluid. @@neuroticgypsy It will depend on how you’re dilated and your doctor! But for me, I was 1.5 cm. They had me on a very high dose of pitocin. I was at 24 and they originally told me 13 was a high dose but I don’t know. I got 2 epidurals. Each of them only lasted a few hours. I ended up with a c section after 36 hours of labor because the anesthesiologist told me that pretty much another epidural wouldn’t touch my pain level if the other ones didn’t and I had absolutely no desire to push through it. Most excruciating pain of my life. But I know if I wasn’t on so much pitocin my labor likely wouldn’t have been so bad. I hope the very best for you! I don’t mean to scare you. My pregnancy was perfect up until 36 weeks when I went for a baby movement checkup “just in case”. I was uncomfortable and stressed so my bp was slightly elevated. They called my provider and turned out there may have been some protein in the urine. They started talking about induction and I got so stressed that my bp went even higher. They admitted me for 24h observation and my bp was normal entire time and minimal protein amount was detected. They scheduled me for induction a week later but one day before my appointment my bp was perfect and no protein in urine!!! Did it resolve itself then? They induced me anyway because “they couldn’t take back this diagnosis”. I have mixed feelings if I should’ve been induced rather than observed...

I had gone in for a check to make sure baby was okay because I had noticed less movements (he was perfectly fine) I was admitted after four hours on the monitor at 37 weeks and once admitted and during entire labor and delivery my bp was perfect. They said they can’t let me go or revise the diagnosis. Because of the pitocin my contractions where insane and my son came out in two pushes and had breathing issues and a three day nicu stay because if it. Frustrates me to this day.

My first pregnancy I had GH and was going up to 160/100 and floaters but no other symptoms. They induced me at 37 weeks, and while at the hospital was even higher in the 170s and 180s they put me on magnesium which SUCKS! Then by the next morning my right eye has completely gone blurry I couldn’t even see my own hand clearly from that eye! They declared me pre-eclampsia and we decided on c-section since I was only 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced and I personally was going down hill (the baby was doing good though!) and I didn’t want to go through trying to get me in labor and have a child when I was forseeing that it would probably end in an emergency c-section! I wanted to be in control as much as I could! Now he will be a year old on the 24th this month! Not fun! Wow coincidence that this video just posted! I am 38 weeks and I have had very high BP all day, no protein in the urine but the BP is still high and I got the floaters and headache earlier this evening so the midwife will check me again tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

Please could you confirm if it's 140/80 or 140/90 that's considered high because you kept interchanging the range?

Question: is it normal to check iron at every prenatal?

I had high blood pressure my whole pregnancy and I was also itchy everywhere specially the palms on my hands! I knew I had cholestasis.
After I gave birth I learned I had preeclampsia and I had 2 blood transfusions.
This experience makes me not want to get pregnant every again!!!!!!

What kind of swelling can indicate preeclampsia? I’m 37w and my feet just started swelling a few weeks ago (35w).
It’s been making me nervous and now I take my BP like 5x a day 🤦‍♀️

Keep an eye on it. Mine swelled so much my socks didn’t fit or my shoes. I ended up with preeclampsia. Just reach out to your dr!
