Everyone says that Lucas never had the prequels in mind when making the original trilogy..yet they didn't even film Return of the Jedi yet ( then called Revenge of the Jedi but was changed when George Lucas came to the conclusion that Jedi don't seek revenge, so the title didn't make sense and was changed to Return ) Mark Hammil knew about episodes I, II & III. Yet people still say George Lucas came up with the idea to make the prequel trilogy in the 90s.
I’m not sure why anybody would say that he came up with the idea for prequels in the 90’s because it makes literally no sense. After the initial release of Star Wars he subsequently added the whole “Episode IV A New Hope” title and ESB & RotJ we’re named episode V and VI respectively... everyone knew that he was obviously planning on going back and doing I-III at some point, it was just that he took such a long break after RotJ that many thought he never was never going to get round to it.
I love how Hammil talks about covering from the cold at 3:30 and right after that the cat hides its face on his sweater
The dog was very interested to know what was in the bowl when food was handed out, and he was a gentleman and willed himself not to put his nose into it. What a lovely show, and group of beings all together!
Carrie Fisher holding that tortoise like she was going to eat it.
Like a cheeseburger. 😆
Very interesting that Mark knew so much about the prequels in this era... George really knew what he wanted the whole time!
Lucas decided revenge did not fit in with a jedi’s philosophy.
No lol, he changed it to “Return” because it saved him money on printing. True story
@@lolmaorofl That's just silly. Any credible source for that?
@@DOSRetroGamer red letter media ROTJ review 😂
@@One.Zero.One101 By any chance do you remember the Netflix documentary name?
Wasn't there also a conflict with Star Trek II: Revenge of Khan, in production at same time, who also later changed their title from Revenge to Wrath, thus both studios had tried not to confuse the public upon release of these films?
Mark Hamill is such a sound bloke and an actor for the fans
Why is no one talking about how calming this interview is
You could tell that Mark enjoyed petting the cat, but I don't think that the kitty felt the same way. At 5:36 you can see it zooming away!!
i woulda actually watch cable tv if the shows were like this
Man, these old interviews were so cute and wholesome.
6:41 Carrie, reaches out her feelings to force feeds Mark.
What an amazingly sweet interview. Classic Blue Peter.
I love the doggie getting scared when R2-D2 comes over and disturbs her slumber at 0:21. Haha. Too adorable! “Whoa! What the hell is that?”
that dog had some sharp reflexes
Why can't we give interviewees cats and tortoises nowadays, really cuts through the awkwardness.
Toby Hogan except when one of the pets happens to be a tortoise.
man.id be nervouse but a turtle would calm me down immensely.maybe pretend i have one.lol
Two thumbs up for the excellent state that video footage is after so many years. Video footage preservation in the pre digital days was very delicate. Every time you copied the tape you lost a generation and quality, even from broadcast tapes and videorecorders decreased. These are important programmes for the future...namely, for now.
The cat burying its head in Marks arm is the cutest thing I've seen today
very wholesome video! it makes me appreciate the dynamics of the cast
4:33 Carrie: “hmmm. Is that turtle still alive?”
A heartwarming atmosphere that you don't find anywhere nowadays on screen. How I miss the old days....
*Mark is talking about Episode 1 in **4:16** holy shit.*
Confirmation from Luke himself that there’s only 6 Star Wars movies.
I miss Carrie she was s funny lady.
@@nathanx.675 the wall takes no prisoners especially when fame fuels drugs and whoring.
@@TheBelrick red pilled manosphere bs.
This is one of the absolute BEST interviewers I've seen in my life. How skilled she is!!!
Mark and Carrie are just such genuine and sweet people.
holy shit Carrie with the turtle at 4:39 , im crying.
*tortoise
It was like they are so gentle from another universe, so the episode 1-3 were already in the work
Seeing young Mark bonding with animals has to be the cutest thing ever
I still have a Blue Peter book from when I lived in London SW1 in 1966-68.
RIP DOGO, RIP CARIE, and most likely that turle is still kicking.
And old mate puss might be a bit on the nose by now too.
Peter Mayhew inside the Chewbacca costume also left us a year or two back.
Carrie casually holding the turtle 😂
Like a sandwich.
GOD BLESS MARK HAMILL AND CARRIE FISHER
this is gold, the only thing that can top this is star wars christmas special... and y'all know that is pure diamond
1:37 Somebody didn't tell this guy that heat rises
3:59 Mark Hamill giving respect to how hard the effects crew work. Before the film & after the film.I know the process. Because i do it all myself in post production with special effects.
aw mark was a natural at this
C3PO's crack habit was really becoming noticeable at this point.
Fleeeesh
Haha, the dog nearly shat itself when R2-D2 came up to him
1:23 - I love that awkward "hello" from Chewbacca as he enters
06:33 did seriously no one noticed how Mark feeds the dog and then eats with the same spoon ? Wow he was humble
Sometimes I forget how absolutely stunning Carrie used to look like
