Dr Ibreez, your video on credit score management for IMGs in the UK is fabulous! It is surprising how often IMGs miss these simple rules and one of the most common issues we see, is where people have forgotten to update their details on the electoral register. As someone who has navigated the complex financial landscape here, I can attest to the importance of the tips you've shared. Your clear distinction between credit and debit cards particularly resonated with me, as I remember my initial avoidance of credit cards in my first few years in the UK. understanding credit scores is crucial for IMGs in terms of long-term financial health and stability. Your practical approach is particularly helpful
So should it be easy to get a credit card from high street bank (Lloyds) if allready have debit card from them ? Or is easier to get a credit building card from elsewhere as mentioned
It's unlikely a bank will offer you a credit card straightaway. You may consider getting one from them later on, but credit building cards usually are given much faster.
Is it absolutely necessary to have a credit score for taking out a mortgage? If I always use a debit card and show them my bank statement..will that not work/be acceptable?
A credit card would help you build your credit score. A debit card would not. Mortgages look at your credit scores, so you should do what you can to build it up.
Dr. Ibreez, please can you make a video about the ones that are done with USMLE exams, (my case no internship after medical school because is not required but I have worked for some years as a GP back home, many years gap now) What are the ways we can get in the UK as a doctor in these cases like mine? Please I am so in desperate ....🙏🏻🙏🏻
If you've not completed an acceptable pattern of internship but are qualified for GMC registration via USMLE, you can consider the UKFP route: ruclips.net/video/9JcoWNkJCrM/видео.html
They will ask about an outstanding debt in your mortgage application, but it shouldn't be anything that would keep you from finding a suitable mortgage.

You will apply for specialty training, which would make you a specialist at the end.
@@RoadToUK so after plab 2 i have to apply for a training job ?
The concept of credit card is indeed foreign to some of us. I always thought it was the same as debt card.
Hope you found this useful then!
will me having USA student loans and student debt affect my ability to get a mortgage

@@RoadToUK I think it will be well over 250k usd that’s the only reason why I feel like it’s a huge amount
Nice content
Thanks :)
Can I apply for a credit card without job?
It would be the decision of the credit card company.
