Thank you for the vid. It’s well produced and edited. Articulate speakers without the insidious background music. And importantly, the work is done at a normal pace. I have a issue with my rider similar to this; so many thanks from this shade tree mechanic for the good info provided by this video and your channel.
How’s it doing? Exact same thing happened friends Honda hrx mower. Mower shop said buy a new one. So I got it off of him Hopefully can do the same. $600-700 mower new. 17:37 this is also how I knew something was up with the exhaust valve. Adjustment was way off but bolts were tight and valve moved freely. Also had zero compression
Grabs the pliers then goes for the hammer in the valve! Owe boy , then the big puddy knife come out , ah ha, the doctor has a great video on this repair. I find the technique in this video crude , pressing the guide back in has to be square or it will grab the valve stem. 'Valve stem seal' is the proper term. Dang crude.. ah ha. Flintstones...bam bam bam.
@@RidgePowerEquipment i wonder why these hondas do this...i see so many people online with the same exact issue....it obviously doesnt happen to the intake because of the lack of heat but also the stem cover.... Im just curious why this happens to this engine and not others...all i can think of is machining error.
@@RidgePowerEquipment now I have another issue on a chinese cloned engine...it is a honda hx160 clone and I can not for the life of me get it to stop surging....I cleaned carburetor 4 times got every single hidden orifice....

Where can u find a new valve guide mine broke
Thank you for your video. That’s what my problem was.
Edited: Only advice I have is: ignore the rope. Unless you move your _shaft_ *piston* from TDC, the piston will not allow the valves to fall in.
Also, you have a much better before/after on that migrating valve guide. Kudos.
Good advice! For myself, I did not want to risk a mistake and a fallen valve.
@@RidgePowerEquipment Yeah. I did it on this engine, and it was DREADFULL to get it back out.

I think it is doing well, ran great, gave it back to the customer and have not heard back... so far ;) Great, good luck!!
What size socket did you use?
anyone that fits, I don't recall
I think I used an 8mm, 1/4" drive socket. Just make sure it doesn't contact the valve stem when you drive it in.

Where is part 2?
No part 2. Started and ran perfectly.
