10 shards is equivalent to £7-8 plus they’re in the battle pass so i actually think it’s kinda decent

we are coping too much. i don’t even play apex anymore and hearing the words “it’s not that bad” for $20 for 10 SHARDS. THATS FOR 1 UPRADE?!
Even if we're charting a path to get the variant we want, if we're playing with just BP, the first 2 customizations of each variant of the Katars are just terrible, which means we're stuck without the colors for 2 seasons long at least. EA is really trying to milk the veteran players as much as possible. The only redeeming value of this thing is that it's for everyone.
All of this hardwork to give artifact more value, but yet fixed mirage ult bug with his heirlooms.

See, this is how OW2 with their mythic skin, but they are called Mythic Prism, the thing is, you can get the Mythic Prism from the Battlepass, and you geet more than 50 of said Prism. And when you check the Mythic shop for it, it cost 50 Prism to unlock the Mythic skin and the rest of the cosmetic or Extra modification of the skin (allows you to change the model look and color) for 10 prism per upgrade. So the way EA do it is much more Greedy than how Blizzard do it.

This is the funniest thing to ever happen in history of gaming monetization. They are really are selling you the basic 3rd model, and then ask for more payment to get TEXTURES for that model. This is insane, to the point of laughing.

I don't see all the hate for the katar (apart from the price), like the design of it looks decent imo, there are definitely heirlooms currently in game that are way worse... my issue is the animations kinda suck. All they gotta do is give it some actually good animations and then it's a worthy heirloom

The question is if you already over paid for the first Cobalt Katar do you automatically have the base model or do you still have to buy another base model.
The cost of this BS is fuckin wild. Like a whole as AAA game is 70 dollars but a skin in this game is anywhere from 100 to 300 dollars.
Devils advocate here, but if i was a new player and they had to choose between buying like 10 heirlooms or the default Katar and could use battlepass to buy some individual pieces over time id definitely go with the Katar so that i could get my mythic skins for the dope trails and my favorite legends skin to still get that unique individualness.
Still, i completely understand why everyone doesnt want this model taking over versus getting every individual legends heirloom, im hoping theyll at bare minimum start bringing 2 legend heirlooms a year or something later on though for the people wanting their main legends to have the exclusive ones and find some middle ground for both sides of playerbase.
The Exotic Shard going into the Battlepass might be a bad idea.
Because Respawn can sneakily reduced the amount of Apex coins in the Battlepass a lot that even if you completed it. You might not be able to buy the next season Battlepass.

... Except OW2 gives you 50 Myhtic shards per season rather than 10 Shards. And not to forget you actually have to be lucky / play long enough to get heirloom shards in the first place!

Me personally this is better than 300+ dollars for this, this is honestly better than those especially if this is the replacement for those garbage events I'd much more prefer this but still not the best way of dealing with the Katar if even having it at all
I feel like this is my fault, i bought all the collection events and store sales in Season 20.
They need to bring back lefend heirlooms man. They def running out of ideas fam.

I really don’t get the allure of the death boxes I like the iconic look of the standard death box and I actually hate that I still have to see these things in game when I’ve chose not to buy into them
imo better option is reactive skin recolor for 50 exotic shards simply cause u will see ur gun more in a game
I got the Cobalt Katar in my second opened pack for the event, will I be able to upgrade that one or will I need the new one to do that
If the katar was a give and you had to pay to upgrade thatd be fine. I think the issue is you have to spend 500ish to get heirloom shards or be lucky enough to get them prior. Then on top of it theres also another 50 to fully upgrade the katar. So were hitting what 550 max for the thing? god damn.

You are not forced to buy anything. You can play this absolut amazing game for absolut free and with a battlepass, which cost you some bucks, you get so many stuf and also leveling up, you get packs . .. so, what do you want more? Flaming, cause there is an option to buy ferrari or lamborghini?

Why do I feel like I’m just gonna get scammed to get a universal heirloom. You buy the weapon but then have to by all the cool visuals and interaction?! It’s like buying a car that has no radio, color, no trunk, no glove compartment, and no cup holders. Just a functional car.
And then why are the weapon reactives so expensive?! Like if we can get one for ten and playing there game, why is it 50$ to just buy 1 reactive skin?! I could maybe okay with 20$ if they felt like in exchange for not playing the game as much, you have pay extra, but 50$?! That’s like a few days of food (three meals per day)!
OH MY F@#$ the deathbox cosmetics have the DUMBEST idea ever. Why are they trying so hard to push these things on us? The boxes are already decorated with our banners. I don't ever remember ever seeing someone go "Hey, you know what would be neat? Deathbox cosmetics." Because universally we would have never thought of something so stupid.

Bruh 300 bucks for the base , and then you need to spend even more for extra styles , like if you want all you need 50 bucks per set , at aleast 5 sets for the katar , thats 250 bucks.

Everyone keeps saying that 50 shards is $50. It's not. They're ignoring the currency we saw. If they follow the exchange rate exactly (they probably won't but it still won't be $50), 50 exotic shards will cost $38.79
