    I've been dealing with a "shudder" for some time now (close to a year) and had no idea what it was. I was thinking spark plugs, vacuum leak, oxygen sensor, mass air flow sensor, and none of those was the culprit. I took my car to an independent service center and the technician diagnosed it as being the torque converter and quoted me a price of around $2,000 to repair it or $4,000 to rebuild the entire trans. I started the search online and came across this product.
    I headed to O'Reilly where they had a couple tubes left. Purchased one, broke into the "sealed for life" transmission on my 2009 Mercedes-Benz E350 and poured this stuff down the filler. I put the hood down and started driving and I felt no shudder. I didn't want to get too excited too quickly so I headed for the highway... and, nothing. No shudder at all at low or high speeds.
    This product is amazing and literally fixed my issue instantly!!

      Brandon - these types of testimonials are invaluable. We're glad our products were able to help you out! On your next transmission service, be sure to add in a bottle of our ATF Protectant p/n 60902 or 63010, to continue protecting the fluid and transmission for the life of the fluid. If you ever have any questions or need a little help, please reach out to us at Contact@lubegard.com or 800-333-5823. Happy motoring!

But I’m not so lucky because my shudder is gradually coming back BUT on the money saving Britt side I now know for a fact it’s not the fluid it had to be mechanical but saved me and a couple of buddies the head ache of guessing and chasing down ghosts thanks lubegard for making my wallet not get hit so hard

    This shutter fix has been saving my Chevy for a year now. I have also tried changing the transmission fluid, a transmission flush myself, shutter problem still occurred. Once I added this fluid and drove around the shutter went away. Now, it did come
    Back later in time, which in the video indicates a mechanical problem. It is indeed the torque converter. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 6” lifted with 35” tires so I will need to replace the stock converter and replace it with a heavy duty Torque converter. Thank you so much lubeguard!!! 🎉😊

      Hello - The Instant Shudder Fixx is a great product that works instantly, but is not a long-term solution. You may try adding our Lubegard Platinum #63010 before replacing the torque converter. It my take up to 200 miles for the product to fully work in, but the result should last the life of your fluid.

    I own a repair shop, I am not sponsored by lube guard but I would like to say this stuff does work! Sometimes the fluid is just broken down, sometimes new fluid doesn’t have the friction additives in it specially with Hondas. If this stuff doesn’t work then you probably have a bad torque converter or worn valve in the valve body.
    I put this in my 2002 vw golf tdi with 270,000 miles on it and the converter shutter is gone! I keep this stuff in stock at my shop and on certain transmissions if I change the fluid or if I install a transmission I will put this in as a precaution

    This stuff works! Used it on a 08' 328i N51 AT and no more shuddering around 45-60mph! New car, very smooth now. The key is you have to get to the transmission quickly before it gets worse. Change filter if possible then refill and like they say, if it was fluid related, it will fix it pretty much instantly.

    2017 Chevy Silverado 5.3 6l80 6 spd trans. Horrible shudder and hard shifts. I added a 10 oz red bottle of 60902, took it for a 10 mile test run and so smooth, no more shudder. My son and I added trans coolers to his and his step mother's camry's, changed atf fluid through cooler lines and added the black 63010 to each car after fluid change and both Camry's shuddering was gone. I know so many people with Toyotas, GM trucks and cars that need to know about this cheap fix!!! Change your atf fluid often and keep Lubegard additives in the mix! Great Product.

I'd been chasing this shaking by replacing coils, plugs, using scanners...etc. Nothing did it. 2010 F150, shaking like rumble strips around 45mph @1500 rpms. This fixed it. Hard to believe. A good sign that I need to most likely get the ATF fluid changed.

      Hi Jackie - always great to hear another success story using Lubegard's Instant Shudder Fixx. You can top off your current fluid with our Platinum ATF Protectant, (part # 63010) to enhance your fluid and add back in the additive package that has fallen out over the life of your fluid. This is okay to mix with the Instant Shudder Fixx and is also a more long term solution.
      Once you eventually do change your ATF, simply adding in our Red ATF Protectant (part # 60902) or Platinum ATF Protectant should prevent further shudder and excessive wear and tear on the transmission clutches and frictions.
      Give us a call at (800) 333-5823 if you need additional help. Thank you & Happy motoring!

    I've used this on a 2005 Hond CR-V 4x4 automatic. After 15min of driving, the whole car would shake on and off. It felt like one of tyres went flat. Got home and researched Honda transmission issues and learnt it had to do with the torque converter then somehow came across Instant Shudder Fix. Next day, bought a bottle and poured it in. After 15min of driving I was waiting for the shake...no shake! I drove it all weekend to make sure. No shudder! It worked liked gold!
    Just yesterday, bought a cheap Holden Viva 1.8Ltr automatic ( Daewoo GM garbage ) in the states its bagged as a Chevrolet. About 20min driving from cold it would heat up then make a huge thump, i knew it was the transmission. Then it would go into limp mode, taking off in 2nd gear only. Once it cooled down it would drive thru all gears. These automatic are sealed, no dip stick to pour fluids in! It was a nightmare to undo the plugs as they use a rare 8ml square socket and for some reason impossible to find! Anyhow, found a cheap home mechanic to do the job. We dumped the old oil out ( it was burnt, black and smelled bad ) with fresh oil and a bottle of Instant Shudder Fix. The mechanic thought it wouldn't work and thought it would be the solenoids! Anyhow, paid him then starting driving home. After 20min a huge thump! SHIT! He was right, solenoids! Driving home in 2nd gear! Got home upset, dont wont to spend any money on this thing! There is a nice road near my house, about 10kms long, so I took it there and thrashed the guts out of it, thinking the new oil has to get thru all the cracks and crannies. I kind you not, it worked! It drives spot on! God Bless Instant Shudder Fix! And ive heard transmission shops also uses it!

      Hi Rick y - glad to hear the success. In most cases our Instant Shudder Fixx™ is used for these EXACT situations; to test if the transmission fluid is causing the issue. If it takes care of your transmission shudders and other noises/vibrations, you can always add a bottle of our red ATF Protectant, part # 60902, or our Platinum® High-Performance ATF additive, part # 63010 - these are our longer term solutions and can be used with the Instant Shudder Fixx at the same time. Because our protectants last the life of the fluid, we don't recommend more than 2 tubes of Instant Shudder Fixx per transmission, and not more than 2 oz of ATF additive per 1 quart of ATF. In the case of the Holden - only 1 tube of Instant Shudder Fixx should because of how concentrated the additive is and how small the fluid capacity of the transmission is. The Platinum High-Performance ATF Protectant would be PERFECT in this situation! Can't wait to hear more future success of using LUBEGARD® Happy Motoring!

    I found an honest transmission shop near me that told me that my 'TC was probably going bad,' & gave me a free tube of Shudder Fix to try after I said, "kind of a wobble or hesitation or gas starving sensation at 37-45 mph, especially uphill." (A 1999, Taurus, AX4N Trans bought at 116k) I had done DIY major tune up & trans fluid / filter change.
    But by 122k was chasing after that "wobble" with tires, alignment, gas filter, Throttle Position Sensor, etc, etc!
    So, I finally went to a transmission specialist I knew and trusted. But, I got to admit I had no clue what a TC is, does, or how.
    So, at 122k, I again drained Trans & replaced filter and the fluid again (its about half the volume) and added Shudder Fix.
    (Tension mounting, drumroll, dramatic pause for effect.)
    I got a slight overall improvement in smoother shifting. But the 37-45 mph wobble is not gone.
    Yet, at least I know what it is and can stop chasing it.
    I am going to try one more drain & replace if the fluid and another treatment of Shudder Fix. Maybe two tubes? The fluid was pretty dark the first drain at 116, so the transmission may have been neglected. The second drain it was still kind of dark, but no particularly odd metal on the pan magnet.
    A good transmission shop can run diagnostic tests and pull any codes on the vehicle to help diagnose it accurately.
    But, since I still did not have a clue what a TC was, where or how it worked, or why it would "shudder" or how serious to take that information, plus I was afraid of being cheated by a mechanic, I searched the internet and found two good explanations of TC's.
    First, 'Eric the car guy' has a video titled, "How a torque converter works," that fully explains it. After his video, I was able to get why it's at 45 mph, and how it most likely has to do with the Torque Converter Clutch and going into Overdrive.
    Second, I read a great explanation with a couple of driving "tests" one can do at "What is Torque Converter Shudder - Roadrunner Converters."
    I know causes of wobble can be many, including warped brake rotors, which usually makes the wobble worse as brakes are applied.
    But, by carefully and safely taking the car out of gear at speed, it can help identify if the wobble is still there or runs smoother coasting.
    Another "test" is slightly pressing the brakes to temporarily disengage the transmission at that point where it wobbles or shudders, to feel if it disappears.
    Had I not watched that video, I would not be as sure as I am its the TC.

      Hello Steve - I would recommend adding a bottle our our Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant #60902 at your next drain and fill. The ATF Protectant may take 35-200 miles to fully work in, but the result will last the life of your fluid. It will also reduce wear, lower the operating temperature and lubricate the seals. It will also free up any sticking valves or solenoids. You can certainly also add a tube of Shudder Fixx along with the ATF Protectant to smooth the shudder immediately. They are a great combination! Thank you for using Lubegard and please let us know how your next service goes.

  • @lubegardinternationallubri6870

    Hello - Since this issue only happens when its cold, it may be due to hardened seals (morning sickness). Hardened seals and O-rings allow internal leakage, which in turn triggers the algorithm that raises line pressure when low line pressure is present. The higher line pressure causes stiff shifts until the transmission fluid and seals warm up and work like they should. A bottle of Synthetic ATF Protectant #60902 or Lubegard Platinum Protectant #63010 should eliminate the "morning sickness" after being in the transmission after a few days. Adding Lubegard 60902 or 63010 lubricates the seals without swelling them helping to restore proper function.
    The Instant Shudder Fixx will not help issues with the seals.

    Okay ..here's my situation...1993 Ford f150 5.0/302... E4OD auto transmission....Changed the fluid, filter and new pan gasket...As part of my engine oil change and filter change, I greased all the U joints, front end fitting and since its a XLT extended cab, I greased the sliding yoke joint...Evidently, the bleeder hole in the sliding yoke was clogged and thus the extra grease had no where to go....That's when this "Rumble strip noise/feeling " started...So, I jacked the rear end up, disconnected the drives haft from the differential and manually chuck the sliding yoke till the hole unclogged and all the extra grease came out....Assembled all back together and now, still the "Rumble strip feeling" at low and medium speed....At high too, but, not as pronounced....Question is...Did overgreasing make this happen, coz, it wasn't doing any of this before I overgreased the Sliding yoke joint... My O.C.D. can't take this and it drives me nuts....???...
    Anyway thanks for your help.....

      Hello - The issue could be with fluid that you refilled the transmission with at the time of service. The rumble is most likely torque converter shudder and has nothing to do with what is now a well lubricated driveline. The quickest way forward would be to add a tube of Shudder Fixx. This will restore or enhance the low speed friction modifiers needed and should smooth out the shudder. Please contact us at: contact@lubegard.com if you have further questions. Have a nice evening!

      Hi Adam - thank you for inquiring. Lubegard's Instant Shudder Fixx gives you immediate results, but is a temporary fix typically used as a diagnostic tool, and to get your car back on the road sooner so that the issue can be properly addressed. Our Lubegard Platinum High-Performance ATF Protectant part# 63010 and our Red ATF Protectant part# 60902 are better products to use as a long term solution. They can take up to 35-150 miles to fully work into the clutches and frictions, but the results will last the life of the fluid. The protectants eliminate shudder and hard shifting as well as lower the operating temperature, reduces wear and extends the life of the fluid. Between the Platinum and the Red, the Platinum has slightly better anti-wear properties.
      You can use both the Shudder Fixx and an ATF protectant together.

      @lubegardinternationallubri6870  4 года назад +1

      Jacob - that depends on a few things. If it's your differential, do you know if you have a clutch actuated differential or an open diff? if it's an open diff, then it wouldn't be that diff necessarily causing the shudder. We have an additive for that - Limited slip differential additive. If it is your CVT causing the issues, we have a CVT additive that help reduce shudder - CVT Recharge & Protect - www.lubegard.com/products/cvtrecharge/ you might want to try adding that as it's probably easier to add than the diff supplement.

    Is this safe to use on Volvo XC60 2011 Model with TF80SC Transmission? I read it will fix a shudder temporarily but long term can damage the transmission because of added friction?

    • @lubegardinternationallubri6870
      @lubegardinternationallubri6870  4 года назад +3

      Hello Henry,
      The Instant Shudder Fixx is fully compatible in your 2011 Volvo XC60. Leaving the product in the transmission will not cause any sort of damage. It is basically a condensed friction modifier that brings the frictional properties of the fluid back to where they need to be for proper engagement. Adding too much of a friction modifier could result in slippage. The Shudder Fixx is a great product and does work instantly, but is just a temporary fix and will not last the life of the fluid.
      The best product to use in your Volvo would be the Platinum ATF Protectant #63010. The Platinum is our newest technology and provides the best anti-shudder properties. It may take between 35-150 miles for the product to fully work in and eliminate the shudder, but the results should last the life of the fluid.

    1. I've only driven about 50 miles since adding the Shudder Fixx. Is it possible that further improvements may occur with additional driving, or should I be concerned that the issue might worsen over time?
    2. Would it be advisable to add another tube of Shudder Fixx, or should I consider having the transmission fluid replaced instead?

    I was told that if you have a rebuilt transmission a lot of the torque converters that are installed in new transmissions are bad these days, so lot of transmission places are using this to add as an additive for bad torque converters. I guess the transmission places don't want to tear them apart again to replace the torque converter.

    • @lubegardinternationallubri6870
      @lubegardinternationallubri6870  Год назад +1

      Hello - Torque converter shudder can occur in brand new and rebuilt transmissions. Shudder is usually cause by a frictional deficiency in the automatic transmission fluid. Lubegard Instant Shudder Fixx is a condensed friction modifier that brings the frictional properties of the fluid back where it needs to be to get a smooth shift. If you don’t see any improvement after using ISF, then most likely your issue is mechanical and not fluid related.

      O'Reilly Auto, Nappa, Carquest, Auto Value/ Bumper to Bumper all carry our Platinum additive. We get this question a lot - We don't know 100% what's in Lucas's products, but we've had enough people try this and not have any issues when adding Shudder Fixx to their transmission. It shouldn't initially cause a problem and may even help but it's not something we have any data on. We have often found that Lucas and Lubegard may not have been the only additive used however. We've received some used fluid samples in the past that were an amazing chemical mixture of additives and ATF. The biggest point you would need to understand is we can not predict the outcome so we can offer no warranty or certainty it will work. We can guarantee that our Shudder Fixx will work with our Platinum & Red bottle additives. Hopefully this helps you out. Thank you.

      @lubegardinternationallubri6870  3 года назад +1

      Hello William,
      Changing the fluid may help. Shudder can be a result of the frictional properties in the ATF wearing out. If you ae not due for a transmission service, you can add a bottle of Synthetic ATF Protectant 60902 or our Platinum 63010. It may take 35-200 miles to fully work in and eliminate the shudder, but the results should last the life of your transmission fluid. Have a great evening!

    HI,
    We used Lubegard 19610 in ford Ranger with 6r80 transmission, we filled two bottles. We thought it was shuddering but unfortunately, it turned out that our diagnosis was wrong. Should we do flush and add new oil or we leave it? I am overly concerned for long-term driving it might harm my transmission. Your advice please.

    I've had shudder for almost 30k miles in my 2014 crv on gentle acceleration at ~25-30mph. I think it's mechanical. Honda gave me the runaround and refused to fix under warranty. I had things fixed under warranty from day one. Recently at ~55k i drained and filled 3qts of fluid. The shudder stopped for a few days but then returned. Scantool can read trans codes but shows no fault with trans. If i add one tube now and it temporarily fixes is, how many tubes can i add in the lifetime of the car? I was going to do another 3qt drain and fill in 5k miles, but with this stuff inside i wouldn't want to touch it. If i have to keep adding one tube once a year or so, how many tubes can i add until i should fill and drain again or will i need to flush it out at some point and add fresh ATF + Lubegard?

    • @lubegardinternationallubri6870
      @lubegardinternationallubri6870  Год назад

      Hello,
      The maximum amount of Instant Shudder Fixx that can be safely used is two tubes in a 10 quart system or under. More product can be used after a fluid change, but you may consider adding Lubegard Platinum instead #63010. It may take 35 - 200 miles to see the full results, but the results should last the life of the fluid. It is safe to combine the ISF and Platinum together. They are compatible.
