Some of these aren't the actual fields they use anymore. A lot of high schools have fields like the one in Hackensack on their campus but then play their games elsewhere. The high school in my hometown plays their games at a field 20 minutes away because their on campus field wasn't good enough.

The second one is just stupid.
Simply get rid of the outfield fence and replace it with one that can be moved.
It's not like they can play a baseball game while a softball game is happening as it is.

My high school, Redbank Valley in Pennsylvania, plays at the county fairgrounds. The left field line is where the demo derby takes place every year, so the infield and most of left field is all dirt. There are also thousands of little pieces of plastic, metal, and glass scattered throughout the infield.

That stadium in Eveleth is gorgeous though. Concrete stands on both fields! I appreciate that.

Orange County High School in Orange, VA doesn’t even have a fence in right center and center. It’s at least 400 feet, and then there’s a hill followed by a line of trees blocking the road

There's absolutely nothing wrong with long outfields. If you have speed and can hit it 400+ between outfielders, an inside the park home run is almost guaranteed, the best and most exciting kind of homer. Guthrie Field (9:12) is brilliant for how it combines baseball and football (except for the hole for the goalposts being in the outfield). They should always play without the fence.

I went to Guthrie and played at Jelsma stadium and they renovated it after my days and it's very beautiful. Squires field the baseball stadium needs to be redone. But I knew people years later who loved playing at Squires field because the retractable wall made them feel like they played in a big league park.

When I was in High School we played against two other schools with similarly odd shapes. Piedmont HS in Piedmont, California and Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek.

Back in the 70s and 80s dirt infields were the norm in my area of Virginia. Usually well maintained with smooth bounces.

I went to and played for a catholic school in Texas called Nolan high school. Their baseball field was pretty strange when I went there. It's better now but have a look if you wish.

Most schools have Rec Departments now with multiple fields and the field they use to use just get placed over for the most part. I guarentee 20+ of those fields are not ever used for actual high school games.

The baseball field at San Lorenzo High in San Lorenzo, Ca is almost a perfect right triangle due to being wedged between a freeway, railroad, and the football field. 📐

Faith Christian is in Colorado. And having played there it is very oddly designed with the school and difficult for away teams to adjust to. As well as the fact that they make the mound a lot higher than most fields.

Imma be honest, BCCs isnt even the weirdest in our county. That honor has to go to Northwood HS because it has no fencing(I've played there nothing temp or anything), its roughly 740 to left(aka a forests edge), 470 to right(a road), and 340ish to center(the only fence, which just separates the football field from the rest of the athletic complex). All in all it's awful and weird but at least our county made it lmao

@@DougClough when I played there in 2021 they didnt have a monster, ghd wall was just volleyball netting they stretched around the outfield

@@tnkl_4254 I looked on Google maps. The infield when I played was next to the school and right field was a green walk and very short. What they show for BCC is light years better than when I was there. The softball field was still there but didn't have a dirty infield. It was all grass.
The baseball field was a mess. One teammate, Todd E got in the tractor and pulled the chains behind it for 2 passes before we would play a game. Back then none of the high school fields were very good except maybe Churchill's. Cabin John was a great field for country & industrial leagues. For Legion we played at what was Woodward, which I think closed down. The left field was only 250, but right field didn't have a fence. That was the only place I ever got shelled. That was because the other team had a ton of left handed hitters, and they hit.

I've seen many different fields over my lifetime like the one off of Brewster's millions a train track going through the middle of the field yes there was this in area called monument , my dad was in softball at the time he went to catch the ball and fell into a deep hole of which was being dug for a outhouse, cause the umpire didn't see him catch the ball it was called a foul ball.
Then when I was in high school there was two fields that stood out , one in central Cambria in pa, that had a orange construction fence for the fence and if you went over it you'd fall down a grass cliff
Then an somerset pa they have hump for a warning track yes a large mound going from right to left field , the players had to run up the hump to catch the baseball .
Sure I seen many crazy fields like the one nearby which is in the edge of a field , next to the road and playing in this field could cause many sore ankles as this field is next to a golf course and many golf balls get hit that way, so you have to avoid the golfballs hidden or not
Well the weirdest games I heard of was one day my dad's team won over a ranked opponent 1-0 but later on that game they lost by a high margin to the same team either it was 99-1 or 76-1 I heard both scores , I say tho the main reason was most players on my dad's team were seeing three balls hit toward them as they were literally to drunk to play, but they I think had fun .
So if you can't drive cause your to drunk you shouldn't play baseball, softball, or any kind of ball at all
