@Benny Bolin I used to live in Las Vegas and went to a bunch of Stars and 51s games as a kid and once in the times I’ve been back to visit family there. Living in Las Vegas and having been to a number of games at Cashman Field, I completely agree with its #1 spot on this list. A couple of amenities that were left out were that the batting cage was literally in the parking lot, and the home and visiting teams shared a clubhouse. I also work for the Nevada prison system, so I can also confirm that the park had all the ambiance of my workplace. The park was also notable for game day atmosphere, highlighted by the homeless camps that you had to drive to in order to get there. You also had to climb a massive hill to get to your car after the game. One minor correction: The team did not leave town. After years of having major league affiliates leave town and being last choice among AAA cities because the ballpark sucked, the city finally replaced Cashman Field with a new ballpark in the Summerlin area, home of the Las Vegas Aviators of the Pacific Coast League.
I’ve been to the San Jose stadium multiple times and u missed the fact that there is a parking lot right behind the fence with not much blocking homers from hitting cars😂
The ballpark is old, being a WPA project that first opened in 1942. But it still has the minor league "charm", including watching future Giants play, and decent food, like "Turkey Mike's" BBQ.
I'm in Korea. When I lived in Pohang, we had a baseball stadium, but no team. When Daegu would play against Busan, they'd have the game in Pohang. Daegu is about 1 hr east and used to be the capital of the province and Busan is 2hrs south and is the biggest city in the old, Uber-province (now split into North and South). Since, they had no team, they didn't bother with stuff like food stands. It was different being at a game in a pro league where you could call out for food deliveries to come to the stadium. And different how people in Korea and Japan will clap less than they just bring tube shaped balloons that they smack together all the time.
I went to many 51s games at cashman growing up, and you'd be hard pressed to see more than 1 hr a game. The outfield walls were way too tall, and the center field wall was incredibly far. But despite being absolute garbage, it was still the host to many of my favorite early baseball memories. That being said, the new stadium is 100 times better.
Should have listed Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama. Named for a former Huntsville mayor, "The Joe" was fairly much a dump from the day it opened in 1985. Built to minimum standards, in it's first season the field had bad drainage and was - literally - a swamp; outfielders splashed up water running to catch a fly and ground balls came to a screeching halt once leaving the infield. (In one game some of the players of the Huntsville Stars came out in protest wearing ski vests, water wings, and toy floats.) The field drainage problems were in time corrected, but the city and owners skimped on maintenance over the years; a situation that intensified when the Stars were sold to a New York real-estate mogul who never even visited Huntsville. At one point, at least 20% of the seats were damaged; the seats were eventually replaced. The Stars in the end moved to Biloxi, Mississippi and Joe Davis was closed. The Southern League informed Huntsville that if they wanted another Double A team a new stadium would have to be built that met modern standards; simply renovating Joe Davis Stadium was out of the question. In due course, a new stadium, sponsored named Toyota Stadium, was built in Madison, AL, a suburb just west of Huntsville. The new AA team was slated to begin playing in the new Toyota Stadium in April 2020. Of course, the COVID pandemic shut everything down that year. As for "The Joe," the baseball field and most of the old stands were removed and repurposed as a municipal football/soccer stadium.
@Jason Hill It was da bomb when it opened. Worth pointing out that when it was built.....no public funds were used. Richmond wasnt on the hook for many years of financing. The group that spearheaded this project should be thanked for what they did and not sucking taxpayer money up to pay for it. It is disheartening that this can't be done again. BTW....the Shockoe proposal was insane....only supported by the restaurants/bars down there. Building a stadium in an urban area with only 2 lane surface streets would have been a disaster. Just my 2 cents.....
I can go further on Cashman Field... There was no plumbing in the umpires room...for the press area...nor in the visitor's locker room... These things were discovered while I was umpiring a midnight rec league that followed a few hours after the games ended...
What's really sad about Camden is that it has been heavily redeveloped. A friend of mine was trying to find an apartment there, and there's a two-year waiting list as the place has become desirable.
Been to both SJ Muni and Robinson Park and although the stands aren't new the grandstands are very close to the infield and gives you the feel of what minor league parks were like pre-1980's without the induced nostalgia of the places built since the early 90's. One place you missed is the old Beehive Field in New Britain Ct. - buggy, cramped, cheaply built and the home of Mr. Cheap - Joe Buzas who made Charlie Finley look like Santa.
For your best minor league ballparks, I suggest Principal Park, home of the Iowa Cubs. Built in 1992 and renovated in 2006, it's widely considered to have one of, if not the best playing surfaces in minor league baseball. It's always a really friendly and welcoming environment, and has a great view of the confluence of the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers
Was a frequent visitor to Cashman Field. The fans and the gameday experience, including the weird PA Announcer, made it very enjoyable. However, the stadium did not fit the caliber of a city like Las Vegas. The new one in Summerlin is what this organization deserves!
Likewise. And the place was locked down when the wife and I got there. But it looked quite nice, other than that long stretch off of Route 3 thru what appears to be a high traffic district. Hoping the FredNats and Flying Squirrels play their home stands on alternate weekends, as I’ve got season tickets for the latter.
Hey man I am from Bakersfield and I Can confirm Sam Lynn ballpark is one of the worst parks that I’ve ever been too. Sam Lynn is broken down, hot, dirty as all hell and of course you have no shade and must face the scorching sun during day games. (Of course our team name was the BLAZE) But it’s still the ballpark I grew up with and what really got me into baseball.
I would also add Pohlman Field in Beloit, WI. When I went there for a game last summer, the scoreboard wasn’t working correctly and one of the picnic tables that was part of the club seating was broken.
He summed up Richmond quite well. Great fan support at the games. Shitty residents blocking a new stadium elsewhere. Irritated fans. The management of the Flying Squirrels really deserves a lot of credit for generating enthusiasm for the team. I'd even be happy if they build a new stadium in the same spot. A LOT of Richmonders just want baseball. I hope we don't lose the Squirrels like we lost the Braves.
Ok so I wouldn't say that the ballpark ITSELF is bad, but, the ballpark where the Kane County Cougars play in Aurora does have one HORRID feature: the majority of the stadium parking is A MILLION GODDAMN MILES from the park. On a nice day this is [barely] bearable, but if it's hot, or rainy, or buggy, GAWD DAYUM it sucks.
I'm certain the Golden Knights will be up near the top of the list. With a top-notch restaurant that splits the two rinks, City National Arena is one fine practice facility...and hosts the UNLV Rebels hockey club as well (love seeing UNLV grow from those games with only 5 rows of wooden bleachers on Flamingo Road..to now a full grown arena in Summerlin!).
Former Padre and Pirate AAA affiliate The Hawaii Islanders used to play iat The Aloha Stadium on Oahu. That is the same stadium you'd see every year for the NFL's Pro-Bowl. Absolutely atrocious for baseball, Think, the worst of Riverfront and Busch stadium during their astroturf days and then add on poor upkeep sweltering heat and travel fatigue.
I gotta mention the stadium for the Harrisburg Suns. They handed out umbrellas when I went there even though it wasn't raining. We realized what they were for during the fireworks display after the game. The fireworks shocked the local mayfly population, causing their dead bodies to fall from the sky like a plague.
san jose ballpark is actually quite nice. under the stands has a bunch of concessions and games for kids and theres lots of parking and i have some profound childhood memories in that lazy cement compound :')
So the reds have Dayton and louisville, considered by most to be two of the better minor league stadiums and then they have Daytona assuming in the last 4 years it hasn’t been redone which appears to be one of the worst
Greer stadium was just torn down. The Sounds now have a beautiful stadium with a great view of the city, mini golf, an outdoor bar and really great food!
A couple of the best minor league stadiums: Coolray Field, Gwinnett Georgia, First Tennessee Park, Nashville, Tennessee, and Autozone, Park, Memphis Tennessee.Hammonds Field, Springfield, Missouri, GCS Ballpark, Sauget, Illinois, and Champions Field,Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tyler Gantert I’m a Rays fan and I’m happy right now. With that being said, we’re still in the first weeks of the season so I expect things will level out. I could be wrong tho
Edibles are legal in all Canada...…. you can have a fun time up here...… hey you could of used the abandon minor league stadium in Ottawa in this. It may be a nice ballpark but its location is meh and its rarely used. Huge drop off considering it used to house MLB minor league teams. I personally wish Hanlon Point Stadium was still standing on the Toronto islands. Huge site from Torontos minor league days plus its where Babe Ruth hit his first professional homerun against the Toronto Maple Leafs when he was in the minors before he made the Red Sox !! Love your vids keep it up bro, Your appreciated in the great white north !!!
Jackie Robinson Ballpark isn’t too bad. Their night games start at 7 and are quite cool with the breeze by the beach. No mosquito issues and this just had a big revamp of the playing field. The Tortugas owner is doing a lot of great things in Daytona
It should be noted that Herschel Greer Stadium and Cashman Field have been replaced by newer stadiums for their respective AAA-clubs; both clubs are doing well in their new venues.
As a fellow Northern Virginian and Prince William County resident, thank you for including the P-Nats stadium. That place is a terrible park that is offset by a fun team. They could have built a new stadium a few years ago. PWC just has this weird fetish of cramming housing developments in every nook and cranny possible.
There is a ballpark in Macon, GA. It was abandoned for a while. There were old braves stuff all over that place, but now the “Macon Bacon” play there. If you find extensive information of this I will be very interested.
I’d like to suggest Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pa which is home of the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league team, Altoona Curve. If you google earth it, it sits next to an amusement park! Yes I said it! And funny enough it barely gets anyone to come to the park. And don’t bother going there during the Christmas light drive thru cause traffic is backed up on 99 for hours! Then again that’s about the best thing that happens in the area all year.
pattypyt _ He did mention the Bounce house, where the Apollo’s played, who would’ve probably won the championship if it wasn’t for the demise of the league
Absolute Bangerz Richmond doesn’t even have an arena team after the RoughRiders moved to West Virginia. Also, didn’t the city finally close that dump for good?
Luckily for the Las Vegas team they're moving into a new park this year. I have fond memories of Cashman because I grew up going there and worked there but it was bad. Wasn't in a good part of town either and the field was generally pretty rough.
If I had seen the suggestions when they were open, I would’ve said Pohlman Field in Beloit. Basically a city park with extra seats, but hey, the beer selection is good!
I clicked on this video just knowing that Cashman was going to be on here. From plumming issues in the locker rooms, to no on-sight fitness area for the players, Cashman has ran it's course. Gotta admit though that I LOOOOVED going to Thursday night Dollar Beer Nights.. 😄🍻 The Aviators new home at Las Vegas Ballpark up in Summerlin is LEGIT. 💯 Attended the third ever game there and was welcomed to an incredible atmosphere! With a pool out in right center field, and an enormous scoreboard butted up against City National Arena (Vegas Golden Knights practice facility...another gem), LVB is the blueprint for what all minor league ballparks are now striving for.
I grew up near the San Jose stadium and went to games as a kid. Absolutely get why it would be here since the stadium is really old and the views aren't always the best, but my experiences there have always been good overall, especially the evening games. Best part is being super close to the field no matter where you are sitting. So getting to see top prospects like Joey Bart up close makes the experience great.
While the Diamond in Richmond, VA made the list, I do find it cool they designed the grandstand to look like the seating in Fulton County Stadium. It kind of shows how dated the stadium is, though.
I used to go to Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown yearly from 1980 to the mid nineties! It was old and dated but enjoyed the park and had a good time whenever I was there. It's is a real throwback!
I played in the minors in the Reds farm system and I never played in any of these. I'm surprised Hagerstown wasn't on this list unless they have done some major improvements. It was 1998 when I played there. there are so many that you could literally do this same presentation for an hour and never get them all. Clinton Iowa isn't the best either and that was my home for 5 months in 99.
I have to disagree with you. I find Sam Lynn charming. I made the drive from LA to Bakersfield at least once a year to see The Blaze play. (I'll have to go back and watch the video but I believe the 'shack' you pointed out was the team store. That could have changed as I have not been out to a Pecos League game in Bakersfield.) As for San Jose, I was only there once and it was amazing. Yes, the stadium is antiquated. (If I recall it was built in 1941?) However, the experience was amazing. The BBQ almost rivaled Boog's BBQ at Camden Yards. The stadium itself is one of only two I've attended that vibrated from the fans roar. (The other being the old Cedar Rapids ballpark.) The Superman Mural in the concourse makes the trip from LA to San Jose worth the trip in and of itself. Yes, the parking is a little weird since the driveway is shared with the college stadium next door, but overall I found my trip to San Jose to be amazing.
Your channel is blowing up man good stuff! Anyways think you can do a worst soccer stadiums in the USA? Currently have something like 60 teams up between division 1 (MLS) and 3 (USLPro1) total but even more after that. It be interesting to see who got some of the worst housing situation around
How cool that both the stadiums in the cities I used to live in: Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach (where I Grew Up) and the Diamond in Richmond (where I currently Live) made the list! They might be crappy...But still charming in their own way!

HobbesB dude I’m a Raptors fan and I have to say nice burn also those don’t exist anymore they are now the Rocky Mountain Vibes
Gaming Guru579 ngl, but I don’t get any baseball related vibes when I think about Rocky Mountains
Kayman234 I know right they’re named that because they moved moved to Colorado Springs
I can go further on Cashman Field... There was no plumbing in the umpires room...for the press area...nor in the visitor's locker room... These things were discovered while I was umpiring a midnight rec league that followed a few hours after the games ended...
I’ve been to Jackie Robinson field and it is actually pretty nice
Yeah..it was a great experience for me
Yeah it really doesn't look bad
The guy doing this video is clueless. Jackie Robinson Park is probably the best place I have seen a game.
@@robertfain4331 all these stadiums are suggested by his subscribers my man
What's really sad about Camden is that it has been heavily redeveloped. A friend of mine was trying to find an apartment there, and there's a two-year waiting list as the place has become desirable.
I requested this video. Critique every NASCAR xfinity and gander outdoors racetracks like road America, mid Ohio
That would be dope I grew up only forty minutes away from Road America
Expand it, do best and worst NASCAR sanctioned tracks.
Been to both SJ Muni and Robinson Park and although the stands aren't new the grandstands are very close to the infield and gives you the feel of
what minor league parks were like pre-1980's without the induced nostalgia of the places built since the early 90's.
One place you missed is the old Beehive Field in New Britain Ct. - buggy, cramped, cheaply built and the home of Mr. Cheap - Joe Buzas who made
Charlie Finley look like Santa.
I remember going to Pfitzner Stadium back when it was the Prince William Cannons. It was the worse baseball experience of my life.
The replacement for Cashman field is very very nice
So the Potomac Nationals are moving to Fredericksburg next year. Just thought you would like to know.
They were originally going get their own nickname after they moved but the success of the Washington Nationals made them keep the current name.
rockvilleraven at least my team didn’t try to keep another team from moving too close.
And the FredNats new ballpark is quite nice. Unfortunately, stuck in the end of a big shopping mall district, about two miles from I-95.
@@syketherocker what do you know? I’ve only seen if from the outside.
You should do the Atlantic league of Professional baseball. You mentioned the Camden river sharks played there and that was that league
love the atlantic league. they care about the fan experience.
REVOLUTIONNNNNNN!!!!!!
AC Surf 🌊
Video Idea: Ranking all NHL Practice facilities maybe?
Konnor McMaster count it lol
Aw the Riversharks one hurt, stadium hold some memories.
I gotta mention the stadium for the Harrisburg Suns. They handed out umbrellas when I went there even though it wasn't raining. We realized what they were for during the fireworks display after the game. The fireworks shocked the local mayfly population, causing their dead bodies to fall from the sky like a plague.
Can you do the Akron Rubberducks stadium (i believe its called canal park) for the best minor league baseball stadiums
Joshua Sanders I go there all the time that place is great
I used to live near Canal Park and miss it a LOT, now I live near Classic Park in Eastlake, and it's just blah
I work there, best job I've ever had
@@luketrese7525 i used to work there too
Joshua Sanders was just there on Friday
They don’t play at Cashman field anymore but it’s now a soccer stadium but now they play in an amazing stadium
You actually used one of my idea.
it is possible to do college baseball stadiums?
Maybe.
@@FivePointsVids excuse me while i pass out then rewatch all the other stadium videos. who needs tv :D
I hate them but
LSU’s Alex Box and Mississippi State’s new stadium are amazing...
san jose ballpark is actually quite nice. under the stands has a bunch of concessions and games for kids and theres lots of parking and i have some profound childhood memories in that lazy cement compound :')
Now you have got to do the best minor league stadiums
I have a lot of good memories at Greer Stadium. Looking back, it was dangerous to walk from the car to the stadium- no lights in the parking lot
For your best list you should do McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket
Very Spursy unfortunately they’re moving to Worcester in 2021
It should also have Chuchansi Park
NBT Bank Stadium
The irony of your Bryce Harper choosing Hagerstown comment is that Hagerstown's field has an unlevel area in left foul territory.
You forgot to mention that Jackie Robinson Ballpark is on the National Register of Historic Places.
So the reds have Dayton and louisville, considered by most to be two of the better minor league stadiums and then they have Daytona assuming in the last 4 years it hasn’t been redone which appears to be one of the worst
The Diamond is actually a good stadium and I know because I have been their multiple times!!
NBT Bank Stadium: Syracuse, NY
Frontier Field: Rochester, NY
Day Air Ballpark: Dayton, OH
You had me at Chris Christie's gunt! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
What the hell are the Red Sox doing right know 1-5 💩
Same with the Yankees. I think were living in a bizzaro world.
They are losing a lot of game
The Rays are winning though
Tyler Gantert I’m a Rays fan and I’m happy right now. With that being said, we’re still in the first weeks of the season so I expect things will level out. I could be wrong tho
I'm a Yankee fan and feel bad for the Red Sox opening the season on the West Coast. What's up with that? At least they get it out of the way!
With Campbell's Field, the neighborhood really killed it. It was s such a nice ballpark, especially the bridge beyond the outfield
Jackie Robinson Ballpark isn’t too bad. Their night games start at 7 and are quite cool with the breeze by the beach. No mosquito issues and this just had a big revamp of the playing field. The Tortugas owner is doing a lot of great things in Daytona
Thats awesome
For the best, go to Canada and do Re-Max Field in Edmonton
Ryan McManners is that the one that used to be Telus field?
It should be noted that Herschel Greer Stadium and Cashman Field have been replaced by newer stadiums for their respective AAA-clubs; both clubs are doing well in their new venues.
Best minor league stadium: Dow Diamond
My favorite is Dell Diamond park in Round Rock, TX.
Parkview field in Fort Wayne is nice. Along with victory field in indy
As a fellow Northern Virginian and Prince William County resident, thank you for including the P-Nats stadium. That place is a terrible park that is offset by a fun team. They could have built a new stadium a few years ago. PWC just has this weird fetish of cramming housing developments in every nook and cranny possible.
I’ve been to a Potomac nationals game and to a flying squirrels game in Virginia
Dang Mang did you leave one the top of the 7th because they were getting blown out so bad
Hi actually,yeah😂😂
There is a ballpark in Macon, GA. It was abandoned for a while. There were old braves stuff all over that place, but now the “Macon Bacon” play there. If you find extensive information of this I will be very interested.
Jackie Robinson is great! It's assigned seating and GA for the grandstands/bleachers respectively
Can you roast AHL teams
I love these videos! Keep them going!
Do AAF stadiums, oh wait..
pattypyt _ He did mention the Bounce house, where the Apollo’s played, who would’ve probably won the championship if it wasn’t for the demise of the league
The league may have folded, but the venues are still there.
VegasMarc725 Of course
I love these stadium/logo/etc critique videos; that premise and your humor mix great.
Do the worst arena football stadiums. If you do it, Richmond Red Raiders, The Richmond’s Coliseum is an absolute trash can
Absolute Bangerz
Richmond doesn’t even have an arena team after the RoughRiders moved to West Virginia. Also, didn’t the city finally close that dump for good?
Its being torn down finally.
Baltimore Arena isn't much better. Your team is NAL mine, the Brigade, is AFL
Luckily for the Las Vegas team they're moving into a new park this year. I have fond memories of Cashman because I grew up going there and worked there but it was bad.
Wasn't in a good part of town either and the field was generally pretty rough.
You mentioned Hagerstown but you didn’t mention their stadium?! Oh god that place is older than dirt and is held up with toothpicks and dip spit.
If I had seen the suggestions when they were open, I would’ve said Pohlman Field in Beloit. Basically a city park with extra seats, but hey, the beer selection is good!
Can you do ECHL and other minor league hockey teams stadiums
I clicked on this video just knowing that Cashman was going to be on here. From plumming issues in the locker rooms, to no on-sight fitness area for the players, Cashman has ran it's course. Gotta admit though that I LOOOOVED going to Thursday night Dollar Beer Nights.. 😄🍻
The Aviators new home at Las Vegas Ballpark up in Summerlin is LEGIT.
Lmao I live in Bakersfield and the stadium IS crap😂😂😭
It’s used to be awesome why did they get rid of the visitors seating that still baffles me
I grew up near the San Jose stadium and went to games as a kid. Absolutely get why it would be here since the stadium is really old and the views aren't always the best, but my experiences there have always been good overall, especially the evening games. Best part is being super close to the field no matter where you are sitting. So getting to see top prospects like Joey Bart up close makes the experience great.
Jesus Saves✝️✝️✝️✝️🥰🥰❤️Love God
While the Diamond in Richmond, VA made the list, I do find it cool they designed the grandstand to look like the seating in Fulton County Stadium. It kind of shows how dated the stadium is, though.
Having lived in Bakersfield before I know having bleachers of any kind there is a horrible idea, even if they were inside a dome
That could have changed as I have not been out to a Pecos League game in Bakersfield.)
As for San Jose, I was only there once and it was amazing.
It’s still a store
Ex minor league umpire here...loved this and look forward to the top 10!
Your channel is blowing up man good stuff! Anyways think you can do a worst soccer stadiums in the USA? Currently have something like 60 teams up between division 1 (MLS) and 3 (USLPro1) total but even more after that. It be interesting to see who got some of the worst housing situation around
You made my dad's day. Being the former bus driver for the Wilmington Blue Rocks he KNOWS the terribad stadium of the PNATS
the new Las Vegas Ballpark is leagues better than Cashman Field, in a better part of town, and the Aviators are a much cleaner team than the 51s were
But it's quite a way from downtown LV.
It has a swimming pool at the homerun outfield. Love it.
How cool that both the stadiums in the cities I used to live in: Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach (where I Grew Up) and the Diamond in Richmond (where I currently Live) made the list! They might be crappy...But still charming in their own way!
Congratulations! Extraordinarily creative. A great way to spend a few minutes. Also love the idea of having a corporate sponsor. Good luck.
Thanks Tom!
