Be very careful not to squeeze the shaft to much , it was balanced. Watch out not to knock off any weights. Rule of thumb is to only squeeze at the weld joints of the shafts.
Great question, it’s actually much easier to remove the bolts holding the rear of the drive shaft than the bolts holding the u joint so you drop the whole drive shaft to save time. Once you’ve dropped the whole thing it’s super easy to remove the ujoint. Hope that helps.
joesnowmobiles no remove to bolts holding the Carrier bearing then the two clamps holding the u joint remove the center but neither driveshaft has to be removed done in less 1/2 hour
joesnowmobiles I’ve done 5 never had to remove a driveshaft but then I’m a professional over 50 years turning wrenches 🔧 but I love watching you shad trees on you tube is old timers need a good laugh 😂
Very good information and video only thing I’d add is locktite to the u joint bolts
Can you complete this without the press any way ? Thank you in advance for any insight
yes, use a big hammer

Thanks for the tip! Good advice, thank you! Joe
Why remove the whole drive shaft if you’re not gonna replace the u joint you would never make it in a flat rate shop
