OMEGA Speedmaster SuperRacing. The new fine-tune Spirate System boosts accuracy to 0/+2 sec./day.

Omega’s latest Speedmaster is fine-tuned for precision with the new Spirate System, which includes a revolutionary patent-pending spiral that allows for ultra-fine rate adjustments. Thanks to this one-of- a-kind mechanism, it is now possible for Omega to achieve certified precision of only 0/+2 seconds a day and this is a watchmaking SENSATION.
To meet these narrow targets, Omega had to quite literally reinvent the wheel: drawing on both the technical resources of the Swatch Group and the precision, stability and reliability of Omega’s chronometrically superior in-house movements.
The innovative solution was a totally new Si14 balance spring which allows the watchmaker to act on the stiffness of the hairspring’s attachment point through an eccentric adjustment mechanism located on the balance bridge. This new approach, based on the design of a high precision articulated structure with flexible bearings, is another superb example of Omega’s willingness to run with new ideas...
The first timepiece to include Omega’s fine-tune Spirate System is the Speedmaster SuperRacing in stainless steel. A visual tribute to Omega’s 2013 anti-magnetic masterpiece which offers a clear view of the new mechanism through the sapphire crystal case-back.
Circling the dial is the distinctive racing style minute-track and a black ceramic bezel ring with the famous tachymeter scale in new yellow “grand feu” enamel. This bold yellow shade, featured on the Seamaster Aqua Terra 15’000+ GAUSS of 2013, is also used on the gradient chronograph hand and striped small seconds hand at 9 o’clock. The watch’s 60 minute/12 hour recorder, directly opposite at 3 o’clock, also serves as a second zone-time.
The honeycomb pattern of the dial references a concept timepiece on display at OMEGA Museum which survived extreme magnetic fields of 160,000 GAUSS.
The chronograph is powered by Omega’s state-of-the-art Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9920, a perfect amalgamation of the many milestones on the road to Spirate and certified at the industry’s highest level by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
As always, proof of this certification is provided by a distinctive red METAS card, which in this case includes confirmation of the 0/+2 seconds a day precision made possible at large scale by the industrialisation of the Spirate System.
The Speedmaster will be sold in the second half of 2023 for 10,200 CHF excluding VAT (we mentioned including VAT in the video, but this is unfortunately not correct. Sorry!)
Excellent reporting omega never cease to amaze
The brand is driven by innovations and delivers…
Love this Alexander (psss - this is Richard from USA, we met at a couple IWC Collectors meetings) I think the innovation and complicated horology coming from Omega is fascinating - and such a departure from the plain, ordinary stuff that Rolex has been churning out for last 30+ years. Omega has really laid it out there. Repeaters, Rattrapante, triple calendars. Moon phases, this adjustable silicon hairspring balance and more - just amazing.
Richard, how are you? Welcome to WatchAdvisor! You name it… Omega is the leader of the pack and still does not get the recognition it should… still fanboys almost die when they discover a new colored dial from another well known brand…
Hum… Rolex has released the Chronergy calibres… I think that was perhaps 10 years ago. There might have been no fanfare whatsoever. But, it seems that the Chronergy has amplitude issues. You may check Rolex forums.
Alex: thanks for this informative and knowledgeable video clip! Always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for sharing our passion! We will keep you posted guys since this is only the beginning…
Glad such a highly sensible channel exists, these days.
Guess it's a gift for us.
Well, thanks...
Love your comment, thank you so much!!!!! The deliver the best possible content for the best audience in the world… 😉
Alexander. Your passion is infectious and whole heartedly apreciated. I love that you call out the fanboy's and the ridiculous attidudes of many in the watch world. your coverage is simple. almost understated but factual and utterly professional. Thank you / Merci for all you do.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now I am speechless ... Well we try to deliver the best possible content to the best audience in the world...
Dude you were right on the money. I was the first person to leak it to the Omega subreddit and forum when RUclips recommended me the announcement video. This is a game changer for mechanical watches because it approaches Spring Drive levels of accuracy.
Spring drive and this are about the same
Realistically, spring drive is still more accurate
@@bdegrds But without the quartz crystal! Truly impressive!
@@jimhim585 But it's also not fully mechanical.
A new era in classical watchmaking (not hybrid) has just started…
The Rolex Fans are going to just say “well it won’t hold its value like my GMT master II.” While Omega is slowly becoming the best watch brand from a technology standpoint on earth.
True, true, true… but who cares? 😉 Omega is the leader of the pack when it comes to real watchmaking innovations…
Up until yesterday, Rolex had the best precision in the business with their -2/+2 superlative chronometer rating, and today the Omega superracing holds the title. Rolex is no slouch by any means when it comes to movement technology. I’m pretty sure we’ll see improvement to their chronometer rating in the near future. This competition is what drives watch companies to innovate and it’s to the benefit of all of us watch nerds. Kudos to Omega this remarkable achievement.
@@omarion07 I’d argue that Omega’s Master Chronometer certification of 0 to +5 secs. up until yesterday was still better than Rolex’s -2 to +2 Superlative Chronometer certification. And now Omega’s miles ahead with this advancement that yields 0 to +2 secs.
Rolex is more of a luxury brand whereas Omega is a proper watchmaker. If you buy a GMT Master II on the grey market, you will certainly lose money in the long run. Watches aren’t investments, period.
@@M4NA5 Nah, I’m following the scientific definition of Accuracy/Precision here. Superlative chronometer allows a deviation of only 2 digits from the mark (zero). Master Chronometer, which is also used by Tudor, allows a deviation of 5 digits from the mark. A deviation of 2 is closer to zero than 5. Numbers don’t lie. That’s your personal preference if you prefer a watch that gains MORE time than a watch that “might” lose LESS time, but it doesn’t make it more precise scientifically. This new Spirate technology is as precise scientifically as the Superlative chronometer but it provides even tighter tolerance as it only deviates in one direction that is the +.
Alexander you’ve got the best job in the world mate, thank you for another great video!
I really love what I do… for almost 35 years now…
@WatchAdvisor it shows mate, your passion for watches is second to none! It's a shame you didn't start your channel when I was still in Eisenstadt because I would love to have come up to Wien, bought you a couple of beers and just talked watches.
Alexander need to say I full enjoyed your video. Omega is killing it and the fanboys from other brands should be thinking more about Omega watches. Bravo Omega !! Thanks Alexander !!
Thanks again for sharing our passion and your kind feedback!
Fantastic reporting. Thank you sir.
I very much enjoy your videos.
Thanks for sharing our passion!
Bravo Omega. Quite something. Omega confirms again their goal to make great watches. Bravo again Alexander. You are truly “the reference” on RUclips
Thanks for sharing our passion and your kind feedback! Omega is innovative and delivers - yes!
Omega driving forward the technical capabilities of industrialised mass-production. Simply extraordinary that a watch movement coming off a largely automated assembly line can perform in this way. 2sec/d is better than some quartz! A real innovation that I look forward to seeing in other watches soon. I'm so glad there is at least one watchmaker pushing forward the boundaries of modern mechanical watchmaking.
... "pushing forward the boundaries of modern mechanical watchmaking" ... THIS should be the driving force in the industry and what people talk about ... NOT the greedy business model developed by ADs...
Can't wait for the technology to find it's way into the moonwatch series. Simply amazing!
it is not 100 % decided yet to which calibre it will be applied ... I think this is also a question of capacities... In the moment they plan to deliver some 300 Speedmaster SuperRacing per months...
I really do love this channel. It’s my favourite watch RUclips, purely because it’s about the art, the incredible skill of mechanical watchmaking. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing our passion... Wow, thank you, I am happy to read this!
Damasko is also using the Si hair spring as well. They make exceptional watches. Exceptional.
They shipped around the existing patents... But I don't know to what extend you can compare these developments...
Chapeau Alexander, this is a huge deal in mechanical watchmaking. Mechanical accuracy will keep the industry alive and well for the next centuries as well.
Many young, potential buyers think that a mechanical watch is not accurate … therefore see a it as an accessory … or as a status symbol … money talks not passion for watchmaking … very sad developement …
@8:25 Your timing and sarcasm was impeccable. I'm still laughing.
Cheers for another fine presentation.
Thanks for sharing our passion!
Wonderful content. Love what they're doing. This next level percision blown me away. I hope we can see this in every collection very soon.
This technology will make its way at Omega… step by step be implemented in many more calibres…
Omega is just next level. Great to see such developments. Thanks for the introduction!
Omega delivers ... now the competitors may think how to top this development... it won't be able though...
It feels still so recent that Omega rolled out METAS across all of its in-house movements and now they've raised the bar again! Definitely something to admire about the brand, they're always innovating and pushing the limits 🔥🔥🔥
True and everybody here writes about a watchmaking revolution and about greedy Rolex ADs fooling their clients… 😉
Bravo Omega! Thank you Alexander.
Thanks for sharing our passion!
Thanks for sharing our passion!
Excellent video and a very exciting development in modern horology.
Yesssss!!! I was so exited yesterday 🤪 0/+2 seconds that just crazy…
I think this is absolutely beautiful and Omega have been killing it with innovation this year. Minute repeating chronographs, plastic cameo-colabs (I like the MoonSwatch) and this truly useful addition to horology. Also, Alexander - very steezy look you pulled for the event.
Omega, the Swatch Group, is always customer focused… innovation, top quality and value for the money are things we can mention… The “look” is Frauenschuh … frauenschuh.com/en
Alexander, with respect- you are the star. I know there's a talented team who films, edits and does your hair and make up, but you are the reason I watch and subscribe to your channel. Great upload as usual, thank you.
😉 No one does my hair and make up though… Thanks for sharing our passion!
Can't wait to see this innovation in more movements. I'm halfway to having enough savings to buy a Speedmaster sapphire sandwich, hopefully by the time I've got all the money together the Spirate system will be in the Moonwatch. Omega continues to innovate, industrialise innovations and manufacture superb watches - bravo Omega.
We will keep you posted guys ... I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻
This is just amazing, I’m looking forward for more options of cases/colors for this movement and ready to pull the trigger. Great job Omega and of course, a fantastic video from the cool guys of WA. Cheers from Peru!
Omega will start to use Spirate also in other models soon… I am curious to discover which one will be next… Thanks for your kind feedback!
I love what Omega has been doing.
Thanks for sharing! Do you own an Omega?
Thanks for the video. It’s amazing news for us the omega fanboys, we knew we were at the right side of history, for a while and this is another confirmation.
Omega is no longer the Omega we knew… the brand today literally outperforms its competitors…
My favorite brand again did something amazing for it's customers and watchmaking in general. And did it without a buzz and flash. Respect.
It is so nice to read all these wonderful comments, just like the one you wrote... Thanks for sharing your passion with us!
It's a pleasure to watch such a great content no matter what brand you are presenting here.
Love your commentary and thoughts, Alexander! Omega is truly proving its mettle as a leading watchmaker. And I couldn’t agree more with you about the hype watches. Look forward to seeing more of your videos on this movement. Cheers ✌️
This purely artificially created hype by greedy ADs, their own flippers and resellers is so boring, so boring... +/- 2,000,000 new and unworn Rolex watches (!!) wait for a mega stupid buyer on the grey and parallel markets... There is NO shortage! Any questions? Let us focus on real watchmaking and the joy of wearing such a wrist watch... This is PURE watchmaking and I love it...
@@WatchAdvisor I have exactly the same thoughts. And I’m so glad to see you share your unfiltered thoughts about this subject. Pure watchmaking and the craft and beauty of it has been replaced with these silly hypes created by all the middle players. People associate a timepiece aficionado with one that owns a hype piece rather than a horological masterpiece. You have a new fan in me , sir 🙌
Have you watched this video already? ruclips.net/video/_vIAiuTPS-I/видео.html Don't forget the comments... 😉
With the secondary market faltering, the grey holders of these +/- 2,000,000 new Rolex watches for sale may very much burn their fingers… And for each of these the countdown of the manufacturers guarantee has pretty well kicked in. 😂🤣🍾🥂👏🏽 People do what they want though but for my part I consider watches as luxury consumables for enjoyment rather than speculative or investment artefacts…
Alexander you called it on the train right on the button ! 👏 Bravo ! This news is welcomed and a most positive addition to Omega's impressive horological tradition.
Thank you
It is the beginning of a new area of classical watchmaking! It will be very difficult to top this achievement though…
I’m 90s kid, growing up I saw my dad wears a Sub, GMT and a Datejust. Naturally I too would love to own a Rolex one day.
But lo and behold when I thought I made it and wanted to celebrate during my 30th birthday. I too would like to buy a luxury watch, naturally not knowing anything about luxury watches, I went with what I know. Rolex. Went into the first Rolex AD, got looked down upon. But thanks to the bad treatment. I went deep down the rabbit hole, video after video of researching and found there are other luxury watch brands that does or if not better. Bought myself a Breitling Superchronomat 44mm B01 because I so happen to stumbled across your video. Been wearing it daily ever since. Naturally I now want a 2nd luxury watch and is continuously looking for the next thing.
As a nerd, what fascinates & excites me is to learn about which movement keeps the best time. When Omega teased us with the trailer, I knew it was gonna shift the balance (pun intended) of mechanical watches for me.
Long story short, thank you for your videos and also so many other RUclipsr out there that share their passion with us.
Bravo! Thanks for sharing your passion with us! Bravo! Whenever you have a question please let me know...
Awesome video. Respect to Your channel and to Omega for creating true innovation :)
Thanks for sharing our passion and your kind feedback!
Wonderful insight and putting this technology in perspective. Love your experience and enthusiasm 👍😎
Thanks for your passion with us and your kind feedback!!
Omega is really just lining up watches that I must own one day…!!!!
Worldtime… and now this speedmaster that is also the master of percussion
Bravo! Cool! Love your passion ... I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻
@@WatchAdvisor may I ask you to do something in Czapek? I do not own any just find them so interesting…. But Omega is very reachable😀😀😀😀 and the NYC store is so inviting
Czapek is not yet on the to-do-list... Keep us posted...
Alexander finally unveils what master watchmaking like Omega introduced with its sensational all new Spirate system is all about. Emotion, emotion and emotion. What is understood doesn’t need to be discussed. Perfectly done Alexander. More to come.
Christian, once again thanks for sharing our passion! Sometimes I do get emotional, unfortunately this does not happen so often… Guess why?

I'm more hyped about Omega putting quick adjust on their clasps
You discovered it in the video and you are the first to mention it.. BRAVO 🙌🏼

You are the best Alexander! Omega is pushing boundaries step by step and with each step they are providing us with more durable, more stable and all in all better watches. The customer is in focus
Everything what Swatch Group does is customer focused… They might not be the best in selling luxury bubbles, but they are masters in delivering innovations, top quality and value for the money…
Alexander, did I see it right that you really really like Omega... 😊
It is just amazing to see and hear your honest admiration and cheering for this innovation.
Yes, I like what Omega does and I would also want that this silly, artificially created hype around Rolex didn't exist and we could concentrate on what Rolex really is...
@@WatchAdvisor would love to see the end of that sentence...
This was as exciting as spring drive, coaxial escapement, and the breguet magnetic pivots (dual impulse escapement
was a big let down), and finally got the call. This spirate system really delivers! Micro tuning without worries of beat errors a big deal because the positional variation is the real key for real life accuracy, and the delta is within less than 3 seconds ! Some say the current coaxials are accurate, but only one in a bunch will be truely accurate, but with spirate, this can be achieved rather easily.
Love your comment, thanks for sharing! Congratulations! May your Omega continue to always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours! And please keep us posted…
Innovation is something I love most about Omega. Also to dare trying some things like the Swatch co-operation. On top they make great watches at still "affordable" (in today's market) price without any games.
THIS should be the driving force in the industry and what people talk about ... NOT the greedy business model developed by ADs...
This is exactly why I love Omega and feel it's better than most with its technology in mechanical watch making. You do get your money worth when you buy one. If you like looks, reliability, functionality and accuracy over status brands you can't go wrong with Omega.
Thanks for sharing your passion with us! Bravo! Omega will also love your comment....
Dear Alexander, thank you for introduction. Great to see what's possible! I' looking forward to all progress OMEGA realizes.😃
My pleasure, I am happy to read this...
Alexander! It's been a while and it's great to see you again in the video! By the way this is great news that I hope they would implement these in their other movement too (my favorite movement by Omega are 88xx, 3861 and the manual wound 99xx). As it stands now with 9920 it results in a very thick watch. But oh well... It'll be more tedious from now on fit both two studs in the balance bridge that's not a twin hairspring system.
The Spirate is ready to be implemented also in other thinner/smaller calibres…
Its 4hz now too ! Omega is a cut above Rolex for sure
The chronograph calibre was always a 4 Hz calibre… 😉
I really enjoy both my Rolex and my Omega. Don't understand the hate that is directed at either brand. They are in my view No1 and No 2 in the world and I feel privileged to own both.
This is as it should be! Omega and Rolex are eye to eye, both companies manufacture the VERY best mass manufactured wristwatches…
I agree with you. I own both and love both. I am biased though towards Omega, which has nothing to do with the watches itself, but more by the treatment of Rolex ADs. Rolex became victim to their own success and can't manage it anymore.
As usual you’re ahead of the game Alexander. Thanks for keeping us updated too!
My pleasure! Thanks for sharing our passion!
absolutely amazing the new technology that Omega have released. Looking forward to see what new watches will house this.
Step by step more and more models will feature the Spirate...

Very impressive innovation! It makes this watch very special and for me as interesting as a Zenith Chrono with the high beat el primero..😊
This for sure will be another USP for Omega watches…
Haven’t ever seen Mr. Linz so juiced like this. Awesome to see!
Well, yes sometimes I really get exited… this mostly happens when I see something on that level… Unfortunately such moments are rare… A new color for a dial doesn’t really thrill me anymore though…
I believe you are right Alexander , it is truely amazing that a mechanical watch can achieve this in the environment they operate. In percentage terms this improvement in accuracy is an enormous difference. By the way I do like this watch, it is a mans man watch that I can imagine a Chuck Yeager character wearing.
By the way I do much enjoy your videos, after watching your video on the 60th Anniversary Bond watch, I bought it sight unseen and absolutely love it. Thanks Michael

It's absolutely astonishing how a mechanical watch can have this extraordinary high level of precision. I'm really amazed 👏

That’s the beginning of a new era of classical watchmaking…
Omega was always at the forefront of serious watchmaking, just like JLC, PP or Breguet. Other big name brands also produce great watches but they've become more of hype machines than serious watchmaking companies.
So sad what happened to Rolex and it’s wonderful watches… Greedy ADs completely ruined the business with their flippers and resellers…
Exact !
I love your excitement Alexander. Omega continues to out-innovate their competitors.
I love mine too, I would want to be more often so excited…
I take my hat off to Omega engineering developments at Omega. They took a chance with George Daniels co-axial escapement and took the time and effort to industrialise it such that most of the watches that Omega make have this. Independent METAS certification was another one. Now the Sprirate adjustment is epic as you say the company quietly spent the time and money developing this and bang it's ready for a production watch. I'll not rush out to get one for now but I will keep a blood shot beady eye on how this new innovation behaves on an industrial scale. Maybe at some point if I can justify it I may have a look in the future.
What Omega (the Swatch Group) does is always customer focused. Innovation, top quality and value for the money is what you get, when buying a watch from the group. What I very much like on top is that Omega did not announce anything, worked quietly and presented a ready to sell innovation...
Omega is the movement and watch industry king.
Innovative, top quality and value for the money...
Fantastic technology 👏. Thank you for sharing Alexander.
I am happy to read that I am not the only one being exited...
Wonderful achievement from a great watchmaker!
Indeed it is! The beginning of a new watchmaking era...
Thank you very much alexander for the Video, I always love how you present it as it is, A technological advancement. Maybe now it will not be appreciate by the general watch audience, but in the long run, when they themselves experience advantage of this, They they will just go and say, "Aha" So that why Alexander was so excited about it.
You are very welcome and I wish you could see me more often being so excited ...
A happy and exciting new year 2023 to you and the complete team Alexander!🎉
In general it would be nice to see a united watch community, without any bashing and/or shaming...
This and the insanity of pushing up prices several times in a year, destroying this wonderful hobby more and more for me.😐
Nevertheless a great achievement from Omega and the Swatch Group - congrats on this one!🥳

Viva la Watchmaking!✌🏻
You can still get Omegas at retail. Really looking forward to what they have coming out in 2023!
@@robertschmidt9584 yes, you can...
But the increase in price during the last 2 years was on a level, which took in the past about 10 years.
Some brands will learn it the hard way, e.g. JLC.
Thanks for sharing our passion, your thoughts and your wishes! Yes, it is a shame that certain buyers ( I don’t even call them watch lovers) tend to simply ignore what brands like Omega do … they just see a watch as an investment that you can resell for maybe more…

Great job; Omega has put the industry in check. I love my Omega, they are increidible watches. The question now is how this is going to affect the sales of their old movements, because people wants the new tecchnology. If Iwere Omega I will hurry up and put this great technology in ALL their movements ASAP.
Fantastic job Omega!!
Already all the existing recent calibres perform excellent (0/+5 sec. Per day) … this is now the cherry on the cake and the technology will step by step make its way at Omega
Nice vidéo Alexander 👏🏽 I had followed up the release at the time and today I am wondering when Omega will implement the Spirate in other models…

You bet! Of course... this is "just" the beginning...
Bravo Alexander. Bravo Bravo Bravo.
Thanks for sharing your passion with us and your kind feedback!
Beautiful watch. great improvement with this technology.
It is only the beginning… 😉
Great content Alexander, regardless of leak, your content is the most valuable and informative. I have put my interest to the local Omega on this watch. However, Omega is also behaving like Rolex’s AD towards customers that wanted to buy their Silver Snoopy Speedmaster with Min purchase value before being put on the list, or bundle watches of low popularity brand by local AD. Then the customer will be review by their “top management “… spoiling the customer experience with Omega.
That shouldn’t be the case and I don’t think this is in accordance with what the HQ wants… maybe a local/personal interpretation of an overzealous sales rep…
Thanks for the video, very good
Thanks for sharing our passion!
I especially liked the speculative talk in the beginning. Would also watch a video seeing you speculate about what brands will bring what kind of new releases on the market in 2023 or the something like that. :-)
I could… yes why not…
The new tech looks awesome, now speaking about the "two counters Racing" range it's a missed opportunity IMO because the watch is still very large and thick, looking at how they improved the "57" range I was expecting more in that specific regard
This is just one (the first) watch that features the Spirate... there are many more models to come in the near future...
