    Omega’s latest Speedmaster is fine-tuned for precision with the new Spirate System, which includes a revolutionary patent-pending spiral that allows for ultra-fine rate adjustments. Thanks to this one-of- a-kind mechanism, it is now possible for Omega to achieve certified precision of only 0/+2 seconds a day and this is a watchmaking SENSATION.
    To meet these narrow targets, Omega had to quite literally reinvent the wheel: drawing on both the technical resources of the Swatch Group and the precision, stability and reliability of Omega’s chronometrically superior in-house movements.
    The innovative solution was a totally new Si14 balance spring which allows the watchmaker to act on the stiffness of the hairspring’s attachment point through an eccentric adjustment mechanism located on the balance bridge. This new approach, based on the design of a high precision articulated structure with flexible bearings, is another superb example of Omega’s willingness to run with new ideas...
    The first timepiece to include Omega’s fine-tune Spirate System is the Speedmaster SuperRacing in stainless steel. A visual tribute to Omega’s 2013 anti-magnetic masterpiece which offers a clear view of the new mechanism through the sapphire crystal case-back.
    Circling the dial is the distinctive racing style minute-track and a black ceramic bezel ring with the famous tachymeter scale in new yellow “grand feu” enamel. This bold yellow shade, featured on the Seamaster Aqua Terra 15’000+ GAUSS of 2013, is also used on the gradient chronograph hand and striped small seconds hand at 9 o’clock. The watch’s 60 minute/12 hour recorder, directly opposite at 3 o’clock, also serves as a second zone-time.
    The honeycomb pattern of the dial references a concept timepiece on display at OMEGA Museum which survived extreme magnetic fields of 160,000 GAUSS.
    The chronograph is powered by Omega’s state-of-the-art Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9920, a perfect amalgamation of the many milestones on the road to Spirate and certified at the industry’s highest level by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
    As always, proof of this certification is provided by a distinctive red METAS card, which in this case includes confirmation of the 0/+2 seconds a day precision made possible at large scale by the industrialisation of the Spirate System.
    The Speedmaster will be sold in the second half of 2023 for 10,200 CHF excluding VAT (we mentioned including VAT in the video, but this is unfortunately not correct. Sorry!)

    Love this Alexander (psss - this is Richard from USA, we met at a couple IWC Collectors meetings) I think the innovation and complicated horology coming from Omega is fascinating - and such a departure from the plain, ordinary stuff that Rolex has been churning out for last 30+ years. Omega has really laid it out there. Repeaters, Rattrapante, triple calendars. Moon phases, this adjustable silicon hairspring balance and more - just amazing.

      Up until yesterday, Rolex had the best precision in the business with their -2/+2 superlative chronometer rating, and today the Omega superracing holds the title. Rolex is no slouch by any means when it comes to movement technology. I’m pretty sure we’ll see improvement to their chronometer rating in the near future. This competition is what drives watch companies to innovate and it’s to the benefit of all of us watch nerds. Kudos to Omega this remarkable achievement.

    • @M4NA5
      @M4NA5 Год назад +9

      @@omarion07 I’d argue that Omega’s Master Chronometer certification of 0 to +5 secs. up until yesterday was still better than Rolex’s -2 to +2 Superlative Chronometer certification. And now Omega’s miles ahead with this advancement that yields 0 to +2 secs.

    • @M4NA5
      @M4NA5 Год назад +2

      Rolex is more of a luxury brand whereas Omega is a proper watchmaker. If you buy a GMT Master II on the grey market, you will certainly lose money in the long run. Watches aren’t investments, period.

    • @omarion07
      @omarion07 Год назад +5

      @@M4NA5 Nah, I’m following the scientific definition of Accuracy/Precision here. Superlative chronometer allows a deviation of only 2 digits from the mark (zero). Master Chronometer, which is also used by Tudor, allows a deviation of 5 digits from the mark. A deviation of 2 is closer to zero than 5. Numbers don’t lie. That’s your personal preference if you prefer a watch that gains MORE time than a watch that “might” lose LESS time, but it doesn’t make it more precise scientifically. This new Spirate technology is as precise scientifically as the Superlative chronometer but it provides even tighter tolerance as it only deviates in one direction that is the +.

    I’m 90s kid, growing up I saw my dad wears a Sub, GMT and a Datejust. Naturally I too would love to own a Rolex one day.
    But lo and behold when I thought I made it and wanted to celebrate during my 30th birthday. I too would like to buy a luxury watch, naturally not knowing anything about luxury watches, I went with what I know. Rolex. Went into the first Rolex AD, got looked down upon. But thanks to the bad treatment. I went deep down the rabbit hole, video after video of researching and found there are other luxury watch brands that does or if not better. Bought myself a Breitling Superchronomat 44mm B01 because I so happen to stumbled across your video. Been wearing it daily ever since. Naturally I now want a 2nd luxury watch and is continuously looking for the next thing.

    was a big let down), and finally got the call. This spirate system really delivers! Micro tuning without worries of beat errors a big deal because the positional variation is the real key for real life accuracy, and the delta is within less than 3 seconds ! Some say the current coaxials are accurate, but only one in a bunch will be truely accurate, but with spirate, this can be achieved rather easily.

    I take my hat off to Omega engineering developments at Omega. They took a chance with George Daniels co-axial escapement and took the time and effort to industrialise it such that most of the watches that Omega make have this. Independent METAS certification was another one. Now the Sprirate adjustment is epic as you say the company quietly spent the time and money developing this and bang it's ready for a production watch. I'll not rush out to get one for now but I will keep a blood shot beady eye on how this new innovation behaves on an industrial scale. Maybe at some point if I can justify it I may have a look in the future.

      What Omega (the Swatch Group) does is always customer focused. Innovation, top quality and value for the money is what you get, when buying a watch from the group. What I very much like on top is that Omega did not announce anything, worked quietly and presented a ready to sell innovation...

    Great content Alexander, regardless of leak, your content is the most valuable and informative. I have put my interest to the local Omega on this watch. However, Omega is also behaving like Rolex’s AD towards customers that wanted to buy their Silver Snoopy Speedmaster with Min purchase value before being put on the list, or bundle watches of low popularity brand by local AD. Then the customer will be review by their “top management “… spoiling the customer experience with Omega.
