  • It's frustrating that Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans are losing but Jake Madison actually thinks it is a good thing for the long-term. Jake explains that now the Pels can't run this team back next season in such a competitive Western Conference. Plus, it's a positive that Zion Williamson has played 65 games and we have an injury update on his finger.

lol yall so funny on these apps they we were 4-2 without Brandon then he got hurt in the magic game and we are 3-4 in that stretch and a few of those losers should be W if it wasn’t for coaching and you are still 7-6 with out him which shows you he’s valuable but not what YOU think he is and being one dimensional where the opp game plans for YOU says a lot about how nice you really are and the refs be on bs so yuh and Zion has better statistics all around and more impactful

Weak podcast. We need to be honest about our condition. An almost full healthy season of Zion and BI and we’re in the same situation as the previous years. We still can’t play half court offense in the fourth quarter as the previous years. Our players are doing things to improve their game but the constant is horrible coaching. Bad substitutions, unused challenges, bad time management, no offense identity, bad game plans according to match ups, no halftime adjustments, and neglecting the young players on rookie deals that need to be developed to replace older expensive veterans.

One thing Jake is definitely right about is that losing will highlight this false narrative that we will be ok once BI comes back, not saying anything in relation to BI just saying this team as a whole has issues that should have been addressed at the trade deadline, management showed their stubbornness to make a move now we are here an really getting exposed by the good teams coming up on the end of the season. 0-21 in the clutch, that’s not just players, coaches are culpable as well.

Positive - After a season of everyone playing together, Griffin/Langdon has a good idea of how the pieces fit or not. The center position is only one question the season highlighted. Stars coexisting may be good, but are they good enough to be top tier? How do you add/create toughness on a more consistent basis? How do you create more 3s when only one starter actively and consistently fights to shoot them and a coaching scheme that doesn't seem to achieve enough of them to be elite?

Hello Jake. We have bad coaching. When they are healthy, they are 0-19 against 500 teams. 0-20 in 4th quarters. If the general is bad, the troops will be bad. Being in the military, a troop survival is on their commander or leader. Willie is not a general. He would be a good corporal in any army. Pels need a GM and total management, facts!

I would agree with this only if the player is an upgrade from CJ. If they can’t upgrade for a point guard type player there’s nothing wrong with demanding that bi and Zion just get better. Zion can add a lot to his passing game and offensive game in general that would make this team a whole lot better rn.

A slide from 5-7 and possibly even further with the best player being injured AGAIN when we need him on the floor the most just sucks…
Im so damn tired of the mediocrity with the Pels and the bad luck. Like I don’t want another play in tournament. I don’t want to squeak by at 6 and lose in the 2nd round. we had a real shot at pushing for the conference finals this year… And I don’t think it’s there anymore.
What is best for the Pels is Zion to be healthy and get a real chance at a solid playoff run god damn.
I feel like a fool sometimes with this team. I bought the Zion 1s in the B/W color wave and still hoop in them every day. I got my herb jones jersey and there are things about this team that I love and am proud of.., just why does it always have to result in bullshit

We're missing the Playoffs! I'm calling it now. Something switched in Zion "AGAIN" starting with the Boston Celtics game. He looks disinterested, discombobulated, he's not cutting, just cut Zion, for the love of God please cut! CJ's got the ball He's telling you to cut and you're not going, you're just standing there!!! He's not helping on defense, he's not even trying to get a rebound (normal) not engaged AGAIN! Has he given up because he knows Brandon Ingram is not there, or is he just tired. I don't know, but I'm done and so is our season.

JV is an opposition layup drill waiting to happen, is absolutely horrendous as an offensive rebounder (iron hands) and his defender adds to the Wall vs. Zion. Gone
Zion, Larry, and Trey Murphy are all limited on offense in different ways. They all need to diversify. Zion is 1st team NBA with any kind of outside shot and about a 5-7% uptick in his slightly too flat arc at the line.
They don’t use their bench even if injured players are down, even with 3-point firepower ready to score points.
Watching Booker score 50+ three games in a row is a pathetic statement on an often clueless coaching staff….or a staff where the best ideas are being outranked by the ‘head’ coach. There is one game early in the season when Barrego sat in for WG which was like watching a junker turn into a race car. I have a feeling there is a power struggle there, and a huge discrepancy in in-game creativity.
This organization let Josh Hart get away and Jemison could really be helping at the 5 if they didn’t let him go.
They could still get to the finals, but need the full squad, a lot more bombs being launched from 3-land.m, and someone besides JV getting closer to 10 rebounds per game…don’t care who it is.
Too bad they could miss the top 6 seeding by one game …there are a few they just choked away.
Every dayer and nighter, hopeful, but not optimistic.

I would like to see CJ traded. He's playing with a young team and he is not providing veteran leadership on the floor especially since BI has been out. His points mean nothing, in my opinion because he doesn't play defense and he doesn't bring it against playoff teams. Finally, his poor shot selection is nothing more than turnovers. Donovan Mitchell would be perfect for the Pels. I would easily give up CJ, BI and JV for Mitchell and Jarret Allen
