Over the last two years Zach Edey has shot around 72% on his free throws. Donovan Clingan shot 58% last year. Zach Edey also shot over 11 free throws a game last year. Clingan shot 4 per game. Zach Edey is closer to 7’4. He was measured 7’3.75 without shoes. Clingan measured 7’1.75. Zach Edey shot these numbers at the combine. 14/25 from three, 60% off the dribble. Clingan also did well shooting. 19/30 from three. 56% spot up shooting. Neither of these guys have a history of making threes, but Eddy’s free throw numbers indicate he may have a future similar to Brook Lopez and Jonas. Zach Edey also had a vertical of 31.5 inches and ran three quarters of the court in 3.51 seconds at 300 pounds. Clingan was a 29 inch vertical and his sprint was in the same range at 3.54 seconds. Alexander Sarr the projected number pick at center barely ran better than both.
I’m not saying Edey is the better pick over Clingan, just that he surprised for man who would come into the league as the heaviest player with the second longest reach after Wemblanyana. Particularly in his agility numbers.
Unrealistic to think anyone at 21 in one of the worst drafts in the past 20 years is just going to be a plug and play starting center for us. Ridiculous

Luka struggling in the playoffs against Lu Dort is indirectly raising BI’s value. He’s not as bad as he was in that series but yeah he does he need to b better. I don’t think they should trade him just yet. This team needs a real pg and it would b interesting to see how he and Zion look with a guy who can set the table for them
And he wasn't to far removed from an injury. Pelicans need to see what BI and Zion look like together in a playoff series

One unlikely prospect that no one has talked about that I feel would be awesome is Devin Carter. Just feels to me like what Jose would be if he was 6’3. Gritty defender, solid inside scorer who can makes threes and most importantly to me is he averaged 8.3 RPG at 6’3. Missed Josh Hart’s ability to get way more rebounds than he should and I feel like Devin Carter would do just that

We have enough good players eating up minutes so if you trade BI for multiple good players, this team will eventually fall apart from mediocrity. If you reset the timeline by trading BI for a young stud, Zion will force a trade before the young guy hits his prime in five years.
The only good options are to keep BI or trade him for a potential all-star level player already hitting his prime. Anything else will fail.
I think an interesting video could be: “if we can’t get a star in return for BI (likely), then we are taking a step back. In which case, should we be trading CJ too for more assets? Either now, the deadline or as an expiring next year.”

Edey C with his intensity is much needed medicine for the Pels and would be a fit with Williamson at PF who can start from the perimeter or dish and Ingram at SF/SG but isn't going to be available at 21

Edey has shown he has agility and shooting. The only remaining thing is that will he make the same effort in game while trying to defend and will he shoot from the outside consistently.

I think it is a bad idea to look for a starting center in this draft, simply because I don't see Willie playing him like that. Other than Herb and arguably José, we've seen Willie be reluctant to play rookies big minutes season after season. I wouldn't count on him doing that with such a difficult role defensively.

Because they can’t afford him. They have to resign Trey. Jonas will put them way over the cap, and he isn’t good enough for them to go over that cap for. Some players are. Jonas isn’t.

I love Zach Edey as prospect but I don't know if he can work on this team if Willie Green is the coach. Willie can't even figure out how to use JV I doubt he would use Edey. I really like Ware and Missi is nice too both could/would be more ideal fit that Willie would utilize due to them being long, athletic, rim protectors.

I think they should keep pick 17. They could get two players that will have good combinations of nba physical traits + skills. Deferring the pick is really just a bet on if Anthony Davis will get hurt and then if he does get hurt, a bet on if the lakers move up in the lottery. Lakers are likely going all out for a third star, and they are likely to be a pretty good team next year. Let’s use the depth of this draft to get someone more on Zions timeline than waiting a year. If your trading the pick in a deal for Jarrett Allen then I guess defer it, but otherwise, I’d just keep the pick. 17 isn’t a bad result.

I like Edey. He can score. The Pels biggest problem last season was they would get into an offensive funk and no one could score. Edey can do that.
He’s not gonna b a better scorer than Jonas and I doubt he’s gonna have his passing ability just yet either. Pels struggled with creating easy shots for guys on offense. They need a PG or a change in offensive philosophy imo

Idk man. Edey's shooting form is pretty fluid. Shoots a decent free throw percentage which is a good indicator if they'll be able to develop a shot. Maybe not a stretch big but he might be able to develop a good middy.

Get a center for what? Willie doesn't want a center or know how to use a center. He's had 5 centers, 4 rode the bench and 1 he starts the 1st half for a few minutes then sits him most of the game. If a center makes 1 mistake or gets scored on Willie takes him out of the game for Nance, his 2nd love. CJ is his first love, he can do no wrong.

Let's see, JV clogs the lane and doesn't fit with Zion. So, drafting someone that is slower of foot, can't stretch the defense and can only operate in the lane is the solution? Be real, Eady works with Zion far less than JV. Eady provides nothing to assist this roster moving forward.

Watched every Hawks game. Trae defense was pretty decent/ above average this year but the narrative already exists. Led team in charges also was set for steals high pre injury. Cooked the west coast guards except for Murry this year
