Trading Ingram is A mistake.
Now let’s build A team around A man who when he was on the trade market we had no offers.
Paying BI is the best case Scenario. The perfect off season move would be to Sign BI, pick up a free agent Center like Claxson, then Draft Edey. But I would completely change how the starters were positioned. Play Zion at point guard and BI as the shooting guard. Have Herb and TM3 as the wings, And Nic Claxson at center. Second unit being Jose, CJ, Dyson, Hawkins, and Nance jr/Edey. Use CJ as a trade chip later in the season if need be. This is a championship team. ......... The problem with T.Young that wont move the needle in the right direction is because of multiple reasons. First of all, BI makes the players around him better, Young doesn't do this to the same degree, also doesn't play defense as good as BI, Also not the team leader that BI is, The Pels players have always rallied around BI and is a great locker room guy, T.Young is not a great locker room guy. The Pels would be losing more than they gained with this trade especially if you traded Jose as well. This is a horrible decision. Another reason is because T.Young is very ball dominant, which is not the best combination to pair with Zion who needs to be the most ball dominant player if you want to get the best out of Zion. Zion works best when he is at the point Zion position. Any other ball dominant player will make it so Zion is standing around to much on offense. Commit to making Zion the point guard, and switch BI to a shooting guard, and have Herb and TM3 be the 3 and D guys, with a good rim protector and rebounder like Claxson, and problem solved, everyone knows their role and they are actually in the position that caters most to their talents.
That was my thoughts on perfect. But I realize that Claxson is probably a pipe dream, so my realistic pick up who i think would actually be a perfect fit is Andre Drummond. Much cheaper option, and a good temporary guy until Edey was able to take over.

pels are missin true pg and more versatile center... gotta trade Bi for a pg , start trey murphy draft a center, keep cj or give him away in a trade package... I think dejuntay is ideal and cheaper.
The best trade options for Pelicans is to trade BI for K Towns.
Send CJ and D Daniel's to ATL for Murray(pg). Then draft a Center.

When I approach the problem of looking at what the Pelicans need, I don’t see Trae Young. But it’s definitely an interesting take because a lot of people are down on Trae right now. He’s super expensive though. And I think it’s important for the star players around Zion to be two way players. I think Pelicans need a guard more like Dejounte than Trae, who’s on a more reasonable contract. You don’t want to sell yourself that what is attainable is actually what you need! I think the Pels missed there window to bring in Dejounte on the cheap, because during the 2023-24 season, dejounte’s extension had not kicked in yet and his salary was much lower. The Pels should have offered Dyson Nance and a boatload of picks to get Dejounte the second that Atlanta was feeling guilty about trading there future picks for dejounte. Now, I think it’s difficult to see a deal with atlanta that works for both sides. The value is close, but it’s not enough for both sides in any construct that I can see.
These changes are what the team needs, trade BI and get trae young or even darius garland, draft a center, move murphy into the starting lineup. It scares me when fans say they’d rather trade zion then BI
I wouldn't trade for Trae Young in any circumstances. He'll always put up number because he shoots 40 times a fame but he'll never win anything
I would sign Drummond as my center. He is a rebounding machine and has the size to battle the tough centers in the west.
Edey will probably be off the board. Kel'el Ware too. Yves Missi has potential through the roof but I think we learn from jaxson hayes and go with someone like DaRon Holmes II who's arguably the most NBA-ready big. If we decide not to go for a big I think a guy like Carlton "Bub" Carrington could be the biggest steal of the draft. He's an crafty decision and shot maker with NBA range and a confident pull up game. He's also super young at 18 years old and just grew into his 6'5 frame with a +4 wingspan. I think Jared McCain could be another 10/10 pick for us but I feel like he'll be off the board too. Edey, Ware, Holmes II, Carrington, McCain are the five I would jump for joy about
Who do we pick for our 21st pick?
My ideal: Magic are willing to trade Wendell Carter Jr., pick 18, a future 1st, and Jon Isaac for Ingram. (if I have to trade B.I.) But gotta keep Isaac around longterm because he’s awesome and unique, even if it means you have to draft a Trey Murphy replacement in the next year or two. Trey Murphy has already torn his meniscus once. Carter Jr. can do Horford things which the Celtics are enjoying right now. Isaac fills a huge role as a backup PF for when Zion is out and can also play 3 and the 5. My ideal is to then use pick 18, the future Orlando pick, & maybe the future lakers pick to make a draft day trade that lands you a young wing like Cody Williams or Tidjane Salaun (if my scouting department believes in them) and draft a big at 21. I’ve now got the midlevel exception still to address point guard. In my ideal, I’m using the midlevel to get even more depth and to get some point guards that can rebound and run to help get the Pels more easy 3’s. I’ll take Markelle Fultz for 3 mil, Westbrook for 5mil, (or maybe even Delon Wright or tyus Jones will come for the full midlevel) and then if I could snag a good value big like Bamba or Drummond for 2 mil

Thank You for all the hard work you put in on this team. We should try and go sign a young big man who is serviceable. One that is stuck on a bad team or at the bottom of someone roster who just don’t get any court time. Young is a good choice but Jaden Ivory from Detroit? He would be a good fit on the Pels. Ware would be a really good fit on the Pels. He has a lot of untapped potential.
My ideal gets would be dejounte Murray and jalen duren. Don’t exactly know how to make that happen but happy to see Ingram traded
Trae Young still has a rep for being someone who you have to guard. He can pass. Take advantage of the lob threats on the squad and with a center upgrade he’d have 4 in the starting lineup. We had a great defensive rating with negative defenders. 2 players who demand gravity like that would be amazing. I know we have to factor the cap, and we can’t have a young/mccollum backcourt but man getting trae young on the roster would do major things for the franchise. Tell me Zion wouldn’t be amped to play with somebody with young’s talents

I don’t think the pels should trade for Young if it’s BI that needs to be in the package. If they will take CJ maybe but Young isn’t worth losing BI he’s way too toxic

Do not want Tray Young. He will be a starter with CJ, which will kill our defense, especially as the new center we presumably draft will not start. Young is a high usage, low efficiency, expensive player with a proven history of being a difficult player in and out of the locker room. I honestly do not understand your take on him.
Trae Young is a small guard who has a turnover rate and is not that great 3pt shooter and is a liability on defense.
