When you can’t draw up simple plays to get BI open it’s an issue.When you can’t tell CJ that he needs to be the third option it’s an issue.When you refuse to play Hawkins it’s an issue.
Two offensive “stars” we’re trying to build around and we trade for a guy that takes more shots than them both as the third option. Coach can’t get these guys to learn their role or management can’t pick the right guys to buy in

I feel for the Pelican fans who PAID to see more HOME losses than road losses. The Pels moved up to 4th place and then lost 5 of 6 HOME games and to top that, they lost 2 more HOME games to LAL to drop to 8th place! Willie Green let his team down, plain and simple.

So seems like the one who didn’t buy in was Zion and they catered to him. Until teams built a wall around the paint, and because he refused to shoot they couldn’t run point Zion all the time

Before Willie started in 2001, the 3 previous coaches(excluding Van Gundy & Jeff Bower/1 season) were with New Orleans for 5 years each, and every one should have been let go after 3 years, just like Willie should now! Each were allowed to stay 2 years after they showed they could not compete in the playoffs.
Sure Zion hasn’t played in the playoffs but that is beside the point! With the talent this team has we should have won 60 games this year. We had the game in hand over & over & over again only to lose in the last 5 minutes because of TERRIBLE COACHING!! No ball movement, falling apart when pressured by opponents defense, turn overs. These are the things that good coaches drill their teams over & over so they are prepared in the last 5 minutes of the games!! Look at OKC, Timberwolves & the Mavs for starters! This isn’t a pattern these teams have! Willie has got to go now!! Don’t wait another 2 years and and lose the team you have now because you waited too long…again!!

His roster changes (out of the blue)in crucial games are a huge red flag,it’s like sabotage.

Willie is stagnant. There is nothing that indicates that Willie Green has what it takes to make this team a contender. Zion and BI can play on the same team, Willie just hasn't figured out how to unlock it.
The Rockets will be better next year, so will Memphis. The Pelicans may not even compete for the play-in.

It's absolutely obvious that our Pels did not reach the hoped for level this past season. Still, the record has improved each season that WG has been at the helm. Yes, some mistakes and apparent errors have occurred. Still, the HC, whoever it is, does not decide what players he has to work with, nor does he control untimely injuries to essentially key players. Simply because some other teams operate in a "cat fickle" manner, we should feel no need to follow that path. Continued improvement because of, and in spite of, certain player personnel flaws, should be carefully studied. When management has truly put together a true team complimentary cast of players, then it may be an appropriate time to consider HC changes if objectives are not met!!
For me, whether it’s Willie or not (I don’t think you should fire him) every question should be thinking about Zion first

Well you need to open the paint as much as possible with either the ball in his hands or playing as a screener in the PnR and to create advantages, those guys in the 2-man game needs to be guys they don’t want to switch their defender onto Z. For me, that’s clearly a stretch big and a high volume 3pt shooting guard who can also get to the rim.
Chet is perfect and obviously never happening. Maybe WCJ is a good option there. The stretch big doesn’t have to be involved in the action because Trey would be
Donovan Mitchell is perfect and there’s a very small chance that’s possible, but I’m sure there’s other options.

Team wins are directly correlated to the number of games Zion plays. They win in spite of Willie. 49 wins….. with a decent coach we should have had closer to 60. Stop settling for mediocrity

I kind’ve agree with Griff’s sentiment on not needing a “pure” PG. There’s plenty of great playmakers and better offensive systems out there, what you want is high IQ on the floor. If the players don’t have it then you look to coaching, and if coaching don’t have it then you’re screwed.

If you can't make adjustments to come back in the 4th quarter. How can anyone believe you can make adjustments in the playoffs? Competitive teams make adjustments in game, and between games.
You can't just go find a player... the draft.. player choices... and all that goes into it... therefore the small market hurts

He has a good relationship with the players, and the locker room is generally vibing. But he doesn't seem to be a high IQ court guy.
That said, I would keep Green if we plan to change the C and get a PG. If we retain all the players, then yes, change the coach.
No 1 reason Pels aren’t better is not paying the tax / spending enough. No 2 reason is bad front office moves (Kira over Maxey!). Keep Willie Green - he has the locker room and is steadily improving.
25:10 say what you want but the Suns have also made a finals appearance. Made trying out different coaches worth it.Frankly just finding a coach who can help you win ONE playoff series would be an improvement.

Willie Green is an improving head coach. Has anyone heard of Wolves & OKC coach before this year. CJ and Trey are too steaking from 3. CJ is a liability on defense and Trey needs to be more selective and stop shooting so many 3's from 4O ft.
I rather have Bi then Green.
Willie literally refused to run plays to give Ingram help to get better scoring opportunities while dealing with dorts defense. Telling him he has to find a way to work threw it. He did the same with Zion during the season instead of running more plays to get him the ball.
B.I. did get mad at Willie Green for not putting him in against the Lakers after Zion Williams got injured

Once Zion went down you absolutely have ingram out there. Willie even had dyson in the lineup once Zion went down. And CJ and larry Nance cost the team a win . All that just to have to go to Brandon and ask him to step up vs Sacramento which he did to get into the playoffs. Willie is stubborn and a horrible coach

How can we really tell if Green is bad if he’s never had his top two players together for the majority of a season? Which other coaches have won without their top guys? These so called fans are calling for Green‘s head like 49 wins and a playoff appearance is beneath their standard. Zion had a minutes restriction until after the break, then BI got hurt.

Love or hate Willie, he never has really had a fair shot considering Zion is almost never healthy, CJ is a playoff choker, and the roster has zero point guard or rim protector.

Switching players to get a better fit is an excuse to cover up poor coaching. Not playing valencuinas was idiotic in the 4th quarter. For that reason alone, green needs to be fired. The OKC head coach seriously outcoached his group and made New Orleans look bad. But there’s a second part to this. We’re small market, and what coach will want to come here if they know that New Orleans won’t pay the luxury tax? We lost Anthony Davis because we never built a team for him to win with. It won’t take long before zion wants out of New Orleans.
