Oh i hope god blesses me to reach nursing school. I see all these young women going and doing well i just wish i was there already.
It doesn't happen over night, stay focused and study hard and anything you want is yours!
That's the same thing I'm worried about. Accidents that would result in injury or death by a nurse. I'm trying to keep my confidence up and not get so freaked out.

"I'm already scared cuz I barely know anything and I'm trying to take care of these people" hahaha AMEN!!! As a fellow nursing student, I relate. But I think we know more than we think we do!!
how does that generally go? I would be terrified (random viewer, no medical education)
It's scary! We get assigned a patient (or two) and we have to do all their care (we take over for both the RN and LNA/CNA care). Now, realize though that we have a lot of help and people who are checking us...the actual nurse is still keeping an eye on their patient, and our clinical instructor is keeping an eye on what we do. Our clinical instructors help us with things we don't know how to do (e.g., how to work a bladder scanner, how to take out an IV, how to hang up blood) and they have to double check our calculations and co-sign for us when we give medications (hanging IVs, IV push, oral meds, etc.). Our instructors check our charting and look at our assessments (in the charts) BUT they're generally not there when we actually DO the assessing, which is the scary part! So they're not with us when we look at our patient....they're not there to take the blood pressure with us, double check our vital signs are accurate, listen to lungs/heart with us, check pulses, look for any skin breakdown, etc. So they're kind of assuming we KNOW how to assess and that we got accurate results. If we forget something major, or don't report something right away, it can be hours before our instructor reads our charting and asks us why we didn't do something or why we didn't report the abnormal result to the nurse immediately. We can fail clinical or harm the patient from messing up, which is so much pressure when you barely know what you're doing and have never put the information learned in class to use in real life. Often instructors don't read charting until the very end of our shift. For example, if you have a post-op patient who had hip surgery and you don't check the pulses in his/her feet to make sure they're there. That's a HUGE thing to forget about doing during your assessment of that patient, but yet your instructor may not know you forgot that until HOURS later when they check charting....by that time, your patient's foot may be VERY damaged from not getting enough blood!!! And you'll be in big trouble for forgetting to check!!! So even though we have instructors to guide us, we still are very much on our own and relying on our own knowledge we learned from nursing school, which can be VERY hard to remember once you're actually in front of a patient and you need to try to remember all the things you are supposed to do/assess for a patient with that sort of problem. I constantly am worried I'm forgetting something important. My main goal is to avoid doing any sort of harm to my patients, and that can be hard if you are worried about MISSING or forgetting something, even if all the things you actually DO are okay! Sorry for the long answer...I could go on and on. I'm going to be a senior nursing student next month :)

I'm barely getting my GE's done at a CC to transfer into a nursing program and your positive attitude is so motivating to me. I feel like a lot of other channels I've come across make me 10x's more stressed and scared. Granted I know Nursing school is no walk in the park, but you take things so well. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video. I just love seeing what it is like to be a nursing student and for me goals is to just be accepted into a nursing program lol and its a relief to know I'm not the only one scared of accidently ever hurting or god forbid killing a patient so scary.

Nursing school is HARD!!! Your feelings are valid! Lol I felt the same way when I was in nursing school. I recently graduated last May. I’ve been a nurse for a couple of months and nursing school DOES NOT prepare you for REAL life nursing lol. I did a Nurse residency program and it was the best decision as a new nurse. Good luck with the rest of your program. If I can do it you can too 🙂☺️

you dont have to put eggs in the fridge and the eggs that you buy arent fertilized so theres no risk of them hatching
Actually in the Netherlands they don't refrigerate eggs at all. They sell them sitting on shelves and people don't refrigerate them. I was surprised to see this when I lived there.

I’m 18 and just got accepted into a nursing program . My projected graduation date is August 2020, 2 years from now!!! I’m really nervous to start in September & really nervous in general about nursing . I’ve been doubting myself but this is what I wanted to do ever since I was little. I always wanted to be a pediatric nurse because children shouldn’t suffer , they’re too innocent. BUT, I cannot see myself maintaining my emotions , I’m so sensitive about children in pain. I’ve been watching your videos and jotting things down (which helps my anxiety, so thank you 💜) I would love to see more videos. (Especially tips on basically anything/everything) thank you 💜❤️💜💜💜💜💜

Nursing is hard. I recorded a video my FIRST week of nursing school a few weeks before I dropped out. Uploaded it on my channel. Now fast forward to three years later I'm a travel nurse. Crazy

You CAN use the time ur stuck in traffic to study! Listen to a lecture using ur phone that u prerecord. Sometimes I record myself reading notes, or I listen to lectures on youTube while I'm in the car! I Bluetooth my phone to my car radio. :)
Not enough hours in the day is right.. your channel is interesting and give me ideas..I really like it..i tried being perfect and reading everything...I can't do it..I'm learning to balance my time..and be discipline which is hard when I'm a squirrel.. only in my 1st semester!..
I want to be an LVN nurse but this is nice to see this though ❤️
For the ride home I use a reader app (natural reader) to listen to my ATI books that my school uses or the recordings of my study sessions. I found if I read the chapters aloud and listening back helps me. I love your vid, but the music is a bit too loud it drowns your sweet voice out in parts. ;) JMJ

my god university is really different in the states than in the UK. here we have to choose a speciality right away (child nursing, adult nursing, learning disability nursing, etc) and you either do a 3-year bachelors degree or a four years honours degree. so glad I live in the UK and got into an undergraduate nursing degree, don't think I could cope with complicated it is over there!
