I've been shooting since I was 8 and swimming since I was 4 I just knew I'd be a Marine and when I had the chance to be a Recon Marine I jumped at the chance and when I was given the chance for Selection in 06 I put my heart and soul into becoming a Raider until I retired in 015.

I mark the beginning of my life as the day I earned the 8651 MOS. Nothing else matters, not then not now. As a former Marine at the age of 45 in 05 I wanted to go back in the Marine Res. But they said I was to old so I joined the guard, the next day THE Marines called me back after reviewing my stellar marine record! But to late I was bummed out! So I came to be a scout at 46 a scout Instructor at 46 and then Iraq as lead scout! Then on to Afghanistan as a Combat advisor. That was the best gig yet!! So when I came back from Afghanistan and earning the bronze star I requested to go back to Afghanistan. But during my med check up we found out I had 20 separate injury from my tours! And I was medvact out of Iraq on my 12 month there with a head injury but any way they canceled my orders and I started my med process and ended up 100% disabled!! And I also helped train up the DEA at fort lewis..but I ended up being retired at the young age of 54 which I did not want to do! I started to fight it but my best friend the state SgtMaj..told me my luck was running out so I left and have missed it every since! But after what Biden did I no longer miss it!! But my training as a Marine made me a very highly decorated Scout!! My son just finished his 10 day leave after SOI and is now at the fleet. It has absolutely transformed him. It enhanced his good traits and squashed the bad ones. He's strong physically, but kind and courteous. He decided to fly over the weekend in his service A and he reported widespread pouring of support from people, especially retired Marines. As for the females I do ask him how they did in SOI. For the Infantry MOS group, there were 2 with one drop. The one who made it looks to be a real athlete and did succeed where dozens of males didn't so there's some overlap for sure. My son is 6'3" 180 fit and strong so he was able to hump the 80 lbs of gear 20k as expected. A 125lb female Marine doing the same thing has to have a lot of heart and want that MOS badly. Just my $.02 as a parent. PS thanks for the videos. It helped my son make his decision to join the Corps.

Don’t waste a moment of your time. Start running, doing pull-ups, and push-ups, and whatever other exercise your recruiter tells you is now a big thing in boot camp. Walk a couple of miles a day in boots to toughen your feet, and avoid blisters. Blisters are extremely painful when forced to march on them. Also walking those miles will prevent the night time leg cramps we experienced during our first month of boot came. Memorize your 11 General Orders, and be able to execute right and left face, about face, and all the other stationary drill moments perfectly. Get to a Marine Junior ROTC, or Marine Reserve unit and become perfect in executing the Manuel of arms. Believe me, each of these will take more than a day to nail down. If you cannot find a Marine Corps contact, try Army. Be prepared! This will save tons of stress, and pain! Ask your recruiter what else you can do.

This is why most armies, from the beginning of time till now, are mostly comprised of men. Meanwhile, women can create a human being then squeeze out that human being, and even produce food for that human being. Both are awesome in different ways.

People buy their groceries and such, then they use the $$ to bring in new world order dictatorship.
      - The top 1% also happen to own the major media, making it easy for them to steer the stock markets up and down so they can constantly skim away trillion$.
      - The top 1% also use their corporations to fund Democrat and RINO political campaigns. Politicians then use our own tax $$ against us. Billionaires only give peanuts to conservative and Christian politicians, so we lose.
It needs to be illegal to be a billionaire. Their Freemasons infiltrate all groups, even most churches. Freemasons started greek letter college fraternities and appear to use them to target individuals who expose this all. We can grow large businesses without billionaires. Christianity is our strength. After 2 tours in Korea and then nam. He deserved it. 6 months later after getting state side the President ( Johnson) called him at letterman hospital in San Francisco to thank him for his service and wished him. He also told him if he needed anything he or his office could do, call them anytime my dad was airborne. 101 st, 82nd, 187, in Korea he was general Westmorelands driver. He saw action in Korea and nam and that’s why I call my dad hero to this day.

I worked with a retired Marine Gunnery Sgt. who came ashore in 65 in Vietnam, he probable knows this guy. He was a very fit old man and he could run circles around the young punks we worked with. I'm retired Navy so we got along just fine!

Back when he was a recruit his drill instructors didn't mess around. Back then they could hit you and smack you around. So you know they made some real marines back then.

My Father took a similar route ( Jail or the Military) and graduated in 1954 from Paris Island. His DIs were all tough WWII vets. He received a broken foot and a concussion from being struck (two separate incidents) by DIs smashing him with his M1 on his face and top of his foot during formation , etc. My Dad was a career Gunny who retired as a Combat Engineer after 20 years…2 tours in Viet Nam (severely injured both tours by RPG attack/small arms fire) and tough as they come. He said boot camp back then was extremely intense, and DIs were very physical.

As a vet, a DI's job is to develop a tool. The weak piss DI's who abuse those in their charge only mfg cheap tools, easily broken and who instantly look forward to leaving the service.

I'm convinced that there is a spirit to Marines/the Marine Corp that will outlast even the U.S. government. They'll evolve to something a little different, but will still have the heart of being a Marine. I've met more than a few and they ALL have a particular, undefinable-yet-palpable spirit...unlike any other U.S. Armed Forces personnel that I've encountered. Something alchemical happens on Parris Island.

Man, I saw love in your eyes Jameson, roger that. Always forward, brother. I served ten years in the Army infantry. I was a drug user, a lost soul, just drifting around. And September 11th happened, and I signed my paperwork two weeks later. I remember telling the recruiter, hand me a rifle and show me the bad guy, because I'm going to kick him in the nuts. And just like that, I joined the infantry lol. The military saved my life, I just bought an office building for my civilian business. I owe everything to the Army.

I was never a Marine. When I made an NCO leading a fire team was when my superiors started calling me a Marine. They told me I took my duties much too seriously, but I was not abusive, just too serious. When I made E-7, I was referred to as Gunny. My Platoon trained hard, and we goofed of hard. 1st Sgt always transferred my best, and replaced them with the incorrigible eight balls because he thought I would turn them around. The truth is the members of the platoon did that work. I enjoyed being called a MARINE. My troops were sad to see me Retire. They thru me a retirement party at their favorite Pizza Palace. It cost me around $ 250. to 290 USD beyond what they spent on it. Good kids and NCO's; my last gift to them.

If it's "a good thing" as the Gunny has said then the standards need to be the same across-the-board for EVERY Marine, male or female.. Every Marine needs to meet the same qualifications and the standards need to be raised not lowered ..for everyone Rrraahhh!?..

Great video. And I think he’s right about Marines being Marines through the years. Yes. Things have changed, and I’m not a fan of much of that. But Marines are still fighting this country’s battles.
I wasn’t raised in the best of situations and I barely graduated high school. 9/11 happened my senior year and we became a nation at war over night. I joined the Marines a few days after graduation and never looked back. I didn’t want college money or anything like that. I wanted to be the first to fight. I wanted adventure and all of that.
I ended up in the airwing. Far front all of it. One day I had the opportunity to volunteer for enlisted aircrew duty in helicopters. 9 months later I had earned my gold wings. I ended up flying combat missions in Iraq in 2006-07 during the surge. That timeframe saw a huge increase in attacks on US helicopters and it was legit. We flew day and night in terrible conditions and were exposed to everything from small arms, mortars, crew served weapons and shoulder fired surface to air missiles.
I earned my Combat Aircrew Wings w/3 stars and Air Medal. Sometimes when I look at my shadow box I think about that, what it means…. Yeah it has had an effect but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I spent 6 years in and was probably the best time of my life.
I went to college, married, 3 kids. I have a great job and make 6 figures. I’m very fortunate for all of it, and for the Marines giving me what I have. Not bad for a kid who flunked everything.

I have known 3 people who were Marines. My late stepfather, Kenny,C. was a Sgt during Korea and he drove a Duece and half from the rear to the Front ; his back got all tore up driving on this awful roads. I think he assisted with Frozen Chosin evacuations. My Mom's late brother was a Corpman and was in the early days of the Vietnam War. Our former preacher was a retired SSGT and platoon leader.He. served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He landed off Kuwait and engaged the Republican Guard by a false amphibious assault landing. Never served in the USMC, but you guys are tough ! I served in the USAF for 6 years. SEMPI -FI always ! HOORAH !
